HI everyone, new to this forum. I have a issue with my 1990 Fzr 1000. It has a misfire, checked plugs, fuel filter, the bike has spark. Does anyone have a problem like this or had a problem like this and managed to fix it. The other day rode to work, bike was fine. Then 6 o clock rolls around, go to start bike, missing so took a slow ride home. Half way there I got irritated and opened the bike up, spluttering and missing and all of a sudden bike ran fine again. Next morning I start the bike it's fine, ride to work all good, time to leave, bike miss firing again. Now just a constant misfire. Any help will be appreciated. Ash

Hi guys, I was on my way to work the other day - bike was running the best she's ever ran and 5 mins later she was losing a bit of power, then engine started sounding rough and next conked out making the most horrible noise ever from the engine. Engine was extremely overheated, kickstart is stuck at top and electric start won't turn over. Anyone any ideas all the best n happy riding, Louis

Firstly hi all, new here and really hoping for some good advice. So yesterday I was going along at around 68mph in 6th and all of a sudden I heard a strange noise ( like a loud deflating noise pffffft) then felt back wheel lock up slightly and bike start slowing down, I dropped a couple gears and kept the bike going. Rode it about another 1 and 1/2 miles home with a horrible clunking noise. I'll be honest there wasn't much oil in there when I checked. I've topped it up and started the Nike this morning, it sounds normal while in N and idleing. Had a ride up the street and when accelerating I hear the horrid noise like something rattling around. Obvious question what have …

Hi all. New two Jap Bikes with TD175 1975 USA Import. A joy to work on until came to get Engine out. Removed 3 Bolts as per instruction, however Engine just rattles around each Location Lug area and will not come out. No visible damage to Frame. Engine will just not come out, I have tried to lever it out but could do with a bit of step by step advice. Cheers.

Hi to all, first post, basically im ''bobbing'' my xvs 650 and ive seen exactly how I want it which involves some big changes which im not too worried about but theres some specifics im hoping some of you may be able to help with! 1.Single back bone conversion, doing the conversion isn't an issue, im very mechanically minded and capable, also I have a few very good friends helping me along the way, what im stuck on is the single carb conversion due to the backbone and tank being where the twin carbs normally sit, the inlet for the carbs again not a problem its knowing exactly what carb is best to use, I know theres a company who can supply all you need for around $60…

Hi. When i was repairing my Yamaha DT 50, i removed a huge part of a bike to get to the carburetor. I did not touch almost any wiring, except removing the batery and detached 2 wires, that i later have attached again, when i was assembling the bike. When i assembled it my rear and headlight doesn't work. My horn and indicators work perfectly. What could it be?

Wow so after a couple of days of no issues I have yet another one with my Xv125 , When riding I turn the headlights on and it's faint, like almost candlelight and doesn't light up the road at all, but high beam works well, both indicators work fine, Is this just the bulb blown as I believe it's duel filiment , or something else ,

Ok bike has no spark so took it apart, the 3 white wires that go from stator to the regulator rectifier are burnt out as are plugs that attach to the plug from the stator wiring , shall I just replace these wires or is this a sign of a dodgy stator

My bike is due for it's first M.O.T. but it has no steering lock and the ignition is held on by a cable tie. This is the way I fixed it after my bike was stolen and damaged. Will the bike fail the M.O.T?

Hello, I am trying to visualize ABS sensor data with oscilloscope but I have no idea about how to proceed. I have visited maybe 5 forums asking the service manual of the yamaha X max ABS but it seems nobody has it or want give it. So I have no information about ABS sensor and wiring diagram. All what I know is summurized in the attached image. It is a 2 wires sensor, one of the wire is supplied with a 12 V voltage and the other one is the signal by deduction. I am thinking to deconnect the connector that you can see on the picture, identify the 12 V pin of the sensor and wire it to the battery 12 V with a fuse. Then I am totally lost..... I hope someone co…

Ladies\GentsI forgot how rubbish 80's lights were back in the day until I got caught unexpectedly out in the dark on the 2MG, the one with only one candle up front - talk about scary! So bought myself a US spec twin candle job on ebay, for cheap. Someone had run it with 60/55 bulbs rather than the 35/35 that it was designed for in the US, but a mate got the glass off the front (good old John) without breaking it to see for any damage. Not excessive, some small heat damage at the top and general pitting and scratching. Probably be OK as is actually, but must have good lights (already got the 35/35 HID Hi/Lo kits) just in case I get caught out again. And if I'm this far i…

Hi all BT1100 experts I've just bought a 4yr old Bulldog, all sweet, except for the handling - damn thing is so twitchy, and in the wet the rear constantly spins up (only 65hp for *** sake!). It's on new Metzeler MEZ4 ZR 120/70f - 170/60r - any info on these or any other replacement tyres (and handling tweaks)? cheers Marek

Hi guys ive only had my dt for about 3 week and today i got my first chance to open the throttle up properly and i was quite dissapointed by the 65 mph top speed. The owner before me said he has earthed the cable behind the headlight so i checked today and he has snipped and extended the cable and it goes off underneath the ignition plastic cover thing. Its got carbon reeds, a 900 miles old top end with 1mm oversize wiesco piston and pulls very well upto 65mph but then seems to just stop, it doesnt feel like im even ragging the hell put of it. Bearing in mind nearly everyone says they can get 80mph out of it, then you can see why im dissapointed. Has anyone got any id…

Hi all first post here and I was wondering if anybody could help me and my grandad out as we tearing our hair out over this bike. It's an 88 virago with an intermittent ignition and running issues. Some times it fails to start and sometimes the rear cylinder stops functioning correctly during running. We've just got it out again for another repair attempt and after changing the battery it worked perfectly. Anyone have any ideas because I'm fairly sure the problem hasn't just vanished and can't really risk taking it on a trip t check properly as it might break down. If anyone has had similar problems any advice would be really helpful. Thanks Maxwell 1st

Ok so I have a dodgy coil on my xv125 , I ordered a compatible one but it has 2 6mm male spade terminals instead of a 6mm and a 4mm I think it is I need, so question is, is it just a case of cutting old female spade connector off the wire and putting a larger one on it and it will be good to go.
