So, my speed screen, and case has cracked, quite a large crack too... I believe it's due to cold weather and getting warm really quick, but 3 bike workshops I have been say that the plastic is too thick for the weather to crack. However, there are no signs of an object hitting it, and it doesn't make sense, if you wanted to damage a bike you'd push it over, not punch a hard to reach piece of plastic. Anyhow, can I buy a second hand speedo and get an approved Yamaha dealer to change the mileage to match my current, or can I do it myself? They are like £400 new! And i'm selling the bike soon... found second hand ones though for around £40, but the m…

Hi all its been a while i hope everyone is good. i have purchased a couple of piezo buzzers from ebay. i was wondering if it would be possible to wire one to my indicator relay as a warning buzzer and if so how to wire it? i believe the buzzers are power red wire and zero vaults black wire ( i could be wrong) also the bike has hazard warning lights if that makes a difference thanks in advance nige

Hey guys, I picked up a 75 dt175 for 100 bucks and without much effort got her running. Everything seemed OK, I was disappointed with the lack of power but figured that was just how it was with an old bike and gas nowadays. Plug looked good without changing jetting I put a little over 100 miles on it then had it seize. Got a piston, had it bored and it was good to go. I had to orginally put the bike together in a hurry (this was for dirtbag challenge) and now after I did the top end I wanted to check all the things I didn't have time for. And, having finally found a manual online for it, I was good to go. One of those things is timing. Reason this is suspect is I not…

So bought a yam xt 125 x 08 on the 4/1/17, and so far so good its not a bad little bike for the price i paid. does what i need it for did come with the terrible speedo problem ie DEAD. Noticed its a issue with these bikes. That be sorted at a later date with a after market speedometer. but at this moment security is my main concern, other than big thick chain and disk lock i want to fit a alarm. i bought one of ebay (china special) but will do the job. As you can probs guess the instructions are pretty sparse. and slightly confusing no further detailed instructions online with regards to installing on a yam xt. ive got a slim/basic knowledge of motorcycle electrics. …

so my indicators where working ok. i installed a alarm just the basic functions live and ground, there is two yellow wires that connect to live on the indicators to flash them when alarm is activated, front indicators are working fine when i use turn switch but back ones have stopped working. the bulbs are ok i disconnected the yellow wires i connected to see if that was the issue, but that isn't the problem. i read that rear indicators have a separate ground on most bikes, as the front still work but i don't understand why this would now be a issue seeing as they where working ok before. any ideas what might be the problem the wiring on this bike is a mess some…

I own xvs 125 that has been changed a lot its running 140 tyres with different front an backend by doing this I ve probably added weight I like the bike but I find it hard to manovure it around when bringing it out of house or in to bike parking at work etc It would be much lighter if it had a 2 stroke engine providing I can line up the sprockets I cant see it being that difficult to fit an engine am I missing something obvious? I noticed on dts the bottle for the water is mounted high up at the back of the bike under the side plastics is this because its gravity fed or just because yam found it a handy place to store it

Does anybody know of its possible to move the rear shock mount from existing one to the fender mounting hole on an xv125a about 3 inch to left and up a bit on pic I'm assuming pretty simply if I installed a 10mm bush and used a high strength m10 bolt it and bolted it on it would be fine, but worry about the new angle of shock, basically I'm trying to lower it as much as I can and my curent shocks are 11.5 eye to eye and seen some that are 10.5 eye to eye, but want about 2.5 inch drop
