I am currently changing my moto 4 from a 1995 wiring harness to an 88 harness(because that is the year parts bike I got). There are two issues I'm having. Well three I guess. The first is there is this little black box. Not the cdi, coil ect. I have no clue what it is. The only thing I can think is a fuss and when u shake it, you can hear something rattle. Here is a pic: Not sure if you will be able to read the numbers on it. The next issue is I have an extra wire(at least I think). Coming out of the the stator, I have 4 white wires. I know three go to a mt60 plug, but the issue is the original owner cut that out of the stator wires??...so I ordered another…

hey so as above having issues starting the bike giving me the error code 19, ive looked around but cant find the info i need despite it being from what ive read a common problem. so if i wiggle the key about it will start fine so i know the problem is the barrel rather the connection to the ecu, ive seen some people say they fir a relay to bypass the issue does anyone have anymore guidance / photos on this as seems to be the simplest route. or if anyone knows any other fixes ect rather than replacing it i did look into this but cant find a full set of locks for a 14 plate only older ones and i cant be bothered having 2 sets of keys and want to do it …

Hey guys I've got an FZR600r 1994 model. The fork seals need replacing, but it looks like the stanchions are clean so I think the seals are just perished. So I'm considering keeping the forks and replacing the springs with progressive items. Or Alternatively fit another pair of forks that are a bit more modern. Is there a table of what other front ends fit the FZR600? and what should I look for as a modern replacement, early R6 forks perhaps?

Hi there guys. Newbie here (to the forum, not to oily hands...) I've just been to look at an XJ900F with 60k miles on it, and the camchain rattles once the engine starts to warm up (two or three minutes), though not when it's cold. My own 900F, with only 25k miles on the clock, has a slight sizzle/rattle once it's full warmed up (10 miles' worth of riding). The factor common to both of them is that they had spent some time standing during their lives. My thoughts are that the 60k one probably needs a new camchain, and on mine, I'm hoping that it's just a sticky tensioner. Do these bikes have any history of sticky camchain tensioners, and would 60k miles be abo…

Hi there basically I have another thread about my issues with my Yamaha aerox not getting a spark, I have checked through the bike for continuity and all seems to be okay until I got the the ht lead and noticed there was nothing there it's a 2 pin ht lead and I gathered that if you put a multimeter on one of the pins then on the plug cap it would get continuity, but I'm getting nothing?? the lead is okay that beeped but the actual block itself with the pins on didn't make a beep and neither did the plug cap, is this right or will I be buying a new coil/ ht lead for the sake of it?? thanks kye

So my engine trouble warning light has started to come on for a minute and then go off. It seems to do it when the bike is on a slope. The bike is running fine and from what I can tell isn't affected. Here's the best bit. I phoned a local Yamaha dealer to book it in to get a diagnostic. The only way to tell what is wrong is to have a Yamaha dealer hook their little machine up to the ECU and then it will give a fault code. Anyway phoned them and he said it's not worth his time so he's not bothering to book it in. Can you believe that crap?

Hi I have had my bike from now since summer 2014. Installed many mods, and covered 6500 miles. however in the last six months i have noticed when slowing down with completely closed throttle, as the revs drop past 6k down to about 4k i have engine warning light on display, the bike runs perfectly, making good power and is as smooth as the day i got it. Amongst my mods are an aftermarket exhaust. I suspect a tune is needed, and have booked it in for a power-commander and stage 2 DNA air filter/air box mod. If it is leaning off that should correct it on the dyno. but having spoken to the guys at the shop they suspect it could be a sensor playing up. (throttle…

After being quoted £180 for a service I decided to do it myself. I've done everything apart from changing the oil and filter. I've gone to unscrew the plug and it has rounded. It was ridiculously brittle. The oil needs changing badly so I need to do it asap. I just want to know all the options before I tackle it. There must be a few other methods I don't know about. At the moment I'm thinking that I should grind a grove in the middle of it and unscrew it out with a screwdriver? Not sure what I should do?

This is for a YBR125ED 2010 (fuel injected) with about ~3050 miles on the clock. Sorry for the long post, I thought it would just help if I listed all the details in here! My beloved Wibber (both because it's a YBR and because it goes wibberwibberwibber when running) had a service a couple of months ago following a fork rebuild. Among other things, the workshop set the idle back as they said it was running too fast. It's a 15-30 minute drive back depending on city traffic, and I was finding that by the time I was near home the engine was near to cutting out when I stopped at traffic lights. I ended up doing the girl racer thing of having to rev it at a standstill to …

Hiya, I have a problem with the indicators, when I got the bike the only issue with it was that when turning the indicators on, both on the front end wouldnt turn on, whilst the back two would turn on, but not flash + dashboard indicator light would light up for the right side but not flash, left side dashboard wouldn't turn on at all. This morning I get on and turn on the right indicator, forgetting I've left it on 5 minutes later both indicators on the right side work perfectly fine now alongside the dashboard indicator light. However left side is still not working. Any ideas what I should do? I replaced the bulbs on all 4 indicators so i know that isn't the…

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my SR 125 '97 custom and i can't find it whats wrong, so I really hope that you could help me. Let's begin with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-LMRUT7IC8 Is it normal that spark shows not cyclically? But in the beginning and end when I push engine start button. What did i checked: battery is ok, changed spark plug, spark plug gap, checked ignition coil with tester one of two methods, checked pickup coil resistance, even changed CDI unit, nothing!. I don't know maybe spark cable is bad or I checked wrongly ignition coil, pickup coil resistance, source coil resistance.. I don't have an idea how to make that …

G'day all. The bike: Yamaha XJ6 S diversion none abs 2010. The problem: A few months ago the bike wouldn't start for the first time ever. It had been laid up for about three weeks while I was away. I found that, if I opened the throttle wide there was life so, holding the throttle wide open at the grip i gave the electric start button the beans. It started. Woohoo moment. But, it ran rough for the first few minutes and then settled in to a fast idle (usually idles at just a shade over 1k rpm, now it's 1.5k) Thinking it could be a failed cable (I had just wound it open heavily) I replaced both, checked that the grip wasn't snagging (it's not, w…

So I've bought a new speedo as it has incorporated idiot lights for high beam, indicators amd neutral leds, I've wired them up correctly as far as I can see, by basically detaching from old lights amd wiring to speedo, but they don't work, the high beam worked for a bit but now doesn't, any suggestions, would it be due to them being led and not original bulbs.
