  1. Hi, Can't access the wanted in classified section so... has anyone got a front right indicator lens for a YBR 125 2005?? Will pay actual money if you've got one! It's for my son who had a slight crash and broke his little fairing and indicator lens. Thanks, Sarah

While looking for replacement forks for my SR, I came across a company who straighten forks. Not sure if this would be safe? Anybody have any experience of this - on a strict budget but I don't want to take a silly risk for the sake of eating beans on toast for a month!

Im looking to give my 2011 ybr custom a more stripped back look. Ive noticed customised 125s with a much smaller cone air filter instead of the big box. I've read that this can cause fuel mixture problems and as a complete noob, this could be well over my head. Does anyone have any experience of doing this job?

Wonder if anyone could guide me on this? I fitted a shortened rear shock linkage last year to cater for my lack of leg length, happy with that. I also dropped the front forks by 10mm, but wonder what the impacts will be if I drop the front another 20mm to match the drop on the rear? Are there any safety implications to watch for in handling? Thanks

Hi guys, I have just finished restoring my DT125MX and it looked lovely. Rode lovely. Yesterday I started it and noticed that it was much louder, sounded like the exhaust blowing. I unwrapped the exhaust tape to unveil a gaping crack round the exhaust where it drops and bends out of the engine. I have been looking for exhausts online and have seen a few. Front ends! Is the 125 the same as the 175? Or is someone looking to get rid of one? Or know who is? Cheers. Dan.

Hey Gearheads, First time yammy forum user here, came seeking some knowledge. I purchased my first YBR125ED(12MY) about 8 months ago, Fuel injected version, i recently had a bump and its became cat C'd as some dozy sod drove infront of me and the bent the forks inward due to the impact. I've acquired an XT125X '07 and the nice chap gave me a haynes manual for the YBR/XT models, so i've been having a look and I think I read that the YBR and XT run the same engine. Currently the Engine in the XT is Carbed and i've been having some troubles as it's got a fair few miles on it. What I'm asking is, would I be able to swap out the fuel injected engine from my YBR and pop…

Howzit everybody. My name is Marko, I'm from South Africa My trusty old Dt finally gave in a couple of months back. I had the voltage rectifier pack up and catch a light. it was then that I decided to give it a top end rebuild as it was long over due. Once it was all reassembled, I got over excited and started her up. it was wonderful, 2 kicks in and she was wizzing like a champ. i then realized, i hadn't put the gauges back on, nor did i have the battery installed. I saw the head light was working so i didn't give it much thought a the time. Sadly, once i installed all the rest of the bike, I noticed that my headlights and tail light wasn't …

Hi, I've recently swapped out my original R6 2000 forks for a set of R1 USD's. Having bought a new set of clip ons, it became clear that I needed to fit these like the original R6, NOT R1 which went under the top yoke. The new clip ons are 40mm high (as in the actual clip around the fork), that's 10mm more than originals so I cant have the top yoke 30mm off the top of forks (which I believe is the standard/original setting). My question is, has anyone else done this conversion and if so, what clip ons did you use? Presumably they fitted flush with top of forks so that the yoke sat in original position?? Thanks in advance

Hello I have an issue with my thunderace indicators not working. I have voltage in the wiring to the indicator but not in the relay. I have voltage if I test the brown wire in the relay to the battery but not if I test the brown and white one. Is there anything else I can test? Thanks

Hi All, looking for help please. My Yamaha YBR125 Custom (2011) has become impossible to start. Having visited the local Yamaha dealer near our holiday home in France I discover that, in 'warm' weather the fuel pump (located within the fuel tank) expands and jams. The bike is only 4 years old & has only 1700 miles on the clock as I use it for around 3 months per year on holiday in France. I am advised that a replacement pump is the only solution but with no guarantee that the problem will not re-occur! Any ideas before I spend lots of money please? What I would like to find is a way to contact Yamaha directly (other than by 'phone) to ask why there is such an obv…

Hello everyone, So I recently bought a 2008 xt 125 x for cheap that needed a few bits doing to it for mot. One of which was fork seals, so I watched a few videos and cracked on, found the forks we nothing like any of the videos I had found and have since struggled to find any good information on them. Reluctant to buy any as I feel the Internet should yet provide I'm here asking for help. I've got as far as disassembling the forks but can't get the seals out the fork legs. There's no lower bush on the stanchion to knock it out with like other forks so does anyone know a trick? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, im wondering if someone could give me some advice, i recently bought a yamaha ybr 125 as a non runner, i found that there was no spark so i checked the coil pack which seems to be ok and the side stand kill switch which again is ok. I then noticed that when i put the ignition on the engine management light doesn't come on at all. I've just replaced the CDI with a second hand one but its still the same, any advice what to do next? cheers john

Hi guys and gals, I've just joined the site and looking for a bit of advise on my YBR. I bought it last week as a non runner, (turns over great but wouldn't fire up), so the first thing i did when i got it home was to check for a spark, which there wasn't so obviously thats why it wouldn't fire up. Next i checked the coil pack and found it had 12v at the cap (not cracking), and 9-10v (when cracking) which after double checking on the web confirmed that that was fine. Then i decided to check the side stand switch which is also working fine. I then noticed that when i put the ignition on the engine management light doesn't come on at all which made me wonder if there i…

  18. Hi everyone Been lurking in this fourm for a while and thought id ask for your expertise I was recently riding slowly through my town when my dt suddenly died and ground to a halt, it has not seized. i tried to bump start to no avail, i got into my garage to find it has a spark and put my thumb over the plug hole to do a poor mans compresion test(im not sure what to look for here but i did feel a pulse of quite strong air).I recently had it serviced as i do with any new motorbike. Unfortunately it was done by cowboys. who while messing with the loom (it is old and corrodied they told me) accidently dissconnect the PV then Didnt do up the front head lamp nut…

  19. So I have not had much time to trouble shoot this, but any pointers appreciated. (sorry it is another 'weird noise' question) On idle the engine seems to make a noise that is slightly 'gritty' - kind of like a dried pea is in there. Between 3-4k revs it makes a kind of grating sound. Initially I checked coolant and engine oil when I arrived at work after it had warmed up. The oil was two colours - is this normal? Black on the bottom and clear on top. Don't think I have seen this before. Is something else leaking in there? (Not possible right - as clutch/gears all share the same oil - yes... I am inept when it comes to most stuff inside the engine ) - Other than the no…

Hello all, I was hoping if someone with one of these could help me out. My friend was riding his XT and he says he smelt fuel, looked down and saw petrol spewing out of a 'tube'. I looked the bike over and saw he'd then connected the carb overflow tube to a black pipe that runs up to a plastic t piece that had 2 pipes off it to the carb. I undid the overflow to black tube as it's obviously wrong, is the black pipe just a breather for the carb? Pictures of some ones carb fitted showing the pipes would be great. Many thanks, Alex.
