Hi My halogen headlight is really weak and i thinking about installing a Bi-Xenon kit instead. Has anyone done this on a XJ6N? Is there room for the ballast? I thinking about buying this kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OPT7-SLIM-HID-KIT-Motorcycle-9003-H4-Bi-Xenon-5000K-WHITE-Light-Conversion-/121107239273

I've just replaced my chain and sprockets, put the wheel back on and took it for a test ride and everything was fine.. Finished work last night and rode home, I noticed that the rear brake was applying as soon as I pressed the pedal and was squeaking when pressed, it sounded like it was binding constantly. So when I got home I put the bike on a stand and checked the chain tension, wheel allignment and brake pads and caliper. I couldn't see anything out of place so I checked the rear brake adjustment to get some free play but i couldn't get any free play. So I took the caliper off and checked the piston but I could press it in with relative ease, I clea…

The old 91 XJ (pre diviersion) has been off the road for a few months, re commissioned it about a fortnight ago.. Lots of the regular brakes and clutch as well as cables to free up. I also found a cracked link in a very low mileage chain (really pleased I found it before riding!!) but that's another story. I was dismayed to find on a couple of occasions, pulling off from junctions and at traffic lights that I was losing the back end on really quite slow corners. at first I put this down to me having a break from riding and losing my touch... It happened on wet roads and I was thinking, maybe a patch of diesel, maybe some other slippery surface, but today it occurred …

Bit of a story first. Was able to get a 2004 125 Dragstar from a deceased relation for £600, considering that there are very few bad reviews of it, the only second hand one I can find is £1700 (and it's already been sold), and that it has less than 8k on the clock I think I got a pretty good deal. good points: the engine starts (but I haven't actually ridden it yet), both brakes work , brake fluid is still full after being left in the garage for several years, bad points: concerned that the foot brake does not return, Chain is loose, takes a long time to start (likely battery issue) on order: Oil filter, air filter, battery …

Thanks in advance for any help on this one. I have started to rebuild an imported Belgian 1982 DT400MX. .... it came in kit form. Obtained a new LH switch (Light ON/Off Hi/LO - Indicator - Horn) and a new 4 position ignition switch (4-way and 6-way connector), identical to the ones taken off the bike. Connected them all up and everything fitted, no spare wires. The problem I have is the lights don't work and the clocks illuminate when the Light switch is off - turn the switch to on an they go out. I have scoured the Internet but cannot find a wiring diagram. I have the Clymer manual but the diagram is out of date. Can anyone point me in…

Hi all, I have an issue with my poor baby, it refuses to show any signs of life, I've checked the fuses (all good) and the battery's voltage (12.8 DC), I've tried jump-starting it (still no life) and the battery's been on charge all day so I cannot understand why it's not showing any signs of life! Any help would be appreciated as this is my first large (ish) bike!

Hey guys, I am desperate trying to debug some strange problem I have with my freshly restored DT125LC (85 ypvs model with active powervalve), and wanted to ask you guys for your expertise. First some context. I bought her as a wreck at the start of this year, she was in really bad state hadn't been started in what the seller said was over ten years and standing outside in the rain for more than a year atleast (btw who does this?). So full restoration project, fully stripped her, redone frame, all new plastics, lot of new electrical connections, kilos of sanding paper, couple cans of paint, case splitted, all new bearings, rebored cilinder, new piston, carb clean…

I've recently had a few electrical related problems with the bike. Firstly the indicator switch stopped working. I put it down to wear and tear and managed to find a cheap second hand one on ebay. After a few months it's starting to do the same and packing in. Probably not related but I don't know. Secondly the bike never had any juice in the battery in a morning so I was having to bump it. I thought it's a 3 year old battery and got a new one. It was fine for a month or so and now it's starting to do the same thing but sometimes it will start on the electric start no problem. I thought it may be the regulator so I have ordered a new one. Any suggestions will be appreciat…

I have a 1969 V50 and I wanted to know if the 1974 to 1981 parts are basically the same. According to the history of the bike they changed the bike in 1974 to meet changes in the law regarding pedals. But essentially I believe the rest of the bike is the same. Can anyone confirm this before I buy a bunch on 1974 parts?

Hi all, haven't been on here in a while as I've sold all my bikes sadly. but I do have a Suzuki LTZ 400, well it's not mine it's my dads but he's too old to ride it lol. Anyway straight to the point, the quad needed a new con rod and the mechanic who started it never wanted to finish it so what's happened is he split the engine and that's the furthest he got, now the problem is the engine has been split for around 10 years now, would thus mean that it would need a full rebuild? Would the engine be seized? Or anything else? Or could the Conrod just be replaced and jobs done? Sorry about my lack of knowledge and please don't slate me for it. I also apologise the fact that i…

I am new to the form and am having trouble checking the oil through the display port hole. Not only is it difficult to prop the bike up straight but the port hole seems to be hidden behind the side stand. Any tips would be helpful.

So I've installed a new headlight on my xv125, but it's slightly smaller bowl than the stock and therefore can't fit a lot of the wiring connections and plugs in to hide them, does anyone know of a way to hide I'm thinking make a small black metal box behind the bowl to secure them and neaten it up.
