  5. Well peeps, after much head scratching amd a lot of persuasion from ttasky, I've taken the plunge and bought... An FJ1200! With ABS, a scottoiler and R1 front calipers , jumped on a train to Plymouth and rode it 200 miles back and I have to say this thing ticks all the boxes, it's fast, it's comfortable, the tank is a little small and it's fecking heavy to get on and off the centrestand, but I certainly do like it . Already writing up a shopping list for a bellypan, centre stand, heated grips, 12v socket aswell as various other trinkets. Considering I haven't been on a bike since squires last year, I'm very happy ^.^ Let them good times roll!!

  6. Just got a Yamaha YB 100 off of ebay, 1989 29K on the clock and has been dumped by the PO, a young lad who knows nothing about bikes or how to fix them and a Dad who wants his garage back ! So I am the proud owner of a 2 stroke which I haven't had since 1967ish ! Winter is sorted then just need to find out if it will run and ride plus what if anything needs replacing, I will be back with questions about 2 strokes soon. PS anyone got a manual?

  9. Oldtimer - "OK Murph, to do the robotic dance properly you need to move your arms stiffly into this position and then twist from the waist.." Murph - "Cheers OT, er.... I just have to pop over to my bike as I think I left the, er, er, lights on...." Oldtimer - "OK DirtyDT, to do the robotic dance properly you need to move your arms stiffly into this position and then twist from the waist.." DirtyDT - "Cheers OT, er.... I just have to pop over to my bike as I think I left the, er, er, lights on...."

  12. So Avon cruiser tyres... You say they aren't that great for hooning around a racetrack at the absolute limit? Guess why - They're road tyres, designed for road use, on a Cruiser doing pretty Cruisey things (ie below 90mph most of the time). My last set of Avons lasted me 19,000 miles before the bike itself karked it and they were still good enough to pass on to someone else thereafter. I'd say 24k out of a set is considered a paltry value, even if you are a loony on your Cruiser. These things are meant to last and maintain good grip in all weathers on all roads, but are definitely not racing tyres!!

  13. I just sit on it, tilt it back onto the rear wheel and then launch myself forward. Takes a couple of goes, but you'll get there!! Also means the bike is pretty stable under.... certain conditions..... heh heh heh!!!

  19. Just a few snaps from me... Airhead and I on our stop at the Oil Can Cafe on Friday. Blackhat met us there on his DT which was a nice surprise. Arrived at Squires, and this is the cleanest my bike was... At least Drewpy managed to get a t-shirt (and a bloody good one at that)... Setting up the campsite... Cynic having a play with his pump... I don't have any pictures of Saturday. The rain didn't really let up (until we stopped riding...!) We tended to an elderly man who fell over not far from Squires, went for coffee then headed back. The 2 stroke run was at 2pm. Smaller than last year, and generally more muted, but still good. Oldtimer and Lalalalalalalasaro joined us, along with Lassie's wife. Kev and his brother-in-law were there too. Straight back to Squires after, then out for a curry where we met DirtyDT. Thanks to Paul for arranging, and John for driving! Fast forward to today. Plenty of wet clothes, urgh... We all packed up and made tracks. Airhead, Finnerz and I rode together... Up on Holme Moss...

  20. Change socks and undies at least 1x a week, shower and shaving optional,go to church on sunday sit at the very back ,every time I go someone give's me a big plate of cash, it is so nice of them all to chip in.Though I did once get into a fight with a dragqueen in a dress rambeling off in latin,he wanted the plate. So I dont go to that church anymore Then off to the beer store,a carton of smokes and fill the tank on the bike, home to wash bike top to bottom and check everything while washing, a quick shot of lube to the cables, chain ,brake switches.Check tire pressures and for anything forien stuck in the tries all intakes and blow out the air filter, takes about a hour then off for a ride
