Hello Yamaha DT175 friends. Can the small silencer on my 1982MX be dismantled and more sound muffling put inside? At the age of 74 and living in a quiet area it would be nice to reduce the sharp crackle. Any suggestions please. CRJ

So, today I secured a fairly old (J reg) XJ900F. I'll be collecting her during the week and then starting a tlc project. I've just retired so am in no hurry to complete so this thread might be a bit slow to show progress. Anyway, I'll post an update when I collect her.

Sad story to this one, my mum n stepdad just lost their house they had it on a mortgage years ago but after being laid off they couldn't keep up the payments so they sold it to a bloke who rented it back to them. 8 years forward to today he has now told them that he's selling them so they are having to down size to a 2 bed cottage with no garage so being the best mate I could ever have he has just gave me his project bike which is a 1996 600 bandit. As it sits now in the shed Gotta go out there during the week and sort through it all. The motor is perfect, all new stainlesbolts I have basically just got to buy a few more bits, paint it and assemble her.

Hi all, Im currently in the middle of restoring my IT175J and i am going to be needing a new clutch basket as the one that was on it is broken. However i cannot seem to find one for sale any where in the UK so i have two questions. My first question is does anyone from the UK have a basket i could purchase off of them ? If not.... My second question is does anyone know if the basket off a DT175 was the same as the basket used on the IT apart from the gear on the back, if it is the same i would be able to purchase a DT basket as they are much easier to get hold of in the UK and remove the gear from the IT basket and re riviot it onto the back of the DT…

Hello there! I've posted in a couple of different sections, but as the bike is now officially a project i thought i'd create a "proper" project thread. Short history of the bike... Bought 18 months ago, it had been off the road since around '88, i bought it from the original owner, so an owner number 2, which is nice. The wee Yammy was and is in a bit of a mess, but passed an MOT last december after a bit of tinkering and some new tyres and a fuel tap. I then decided that the speed wasn't up to much even by my standards (riding on CBT, but been driving cars for a decade) so i bought a V80 to put in it's place. The little thing is much nicer with that engine, can do …

Hi all, I've got another clue to the mystery of why my DT250MX won't start. I have spark, I have air, I have fuel (spark plug gets wet and I have to clear the fuel), I have compression but for some reason it won't start. It will however, roar into life for a second if I spray carb cleaner in the air box (as you'd probably expect) but then dies again, throttle on OR off. So my question is what does it mean? Does it go any way to eliminating reasons why it won't start? or does it simply prove that air is coming through the air box and into the cylinder, and that I have a spark? Cheers

Hi guys! I recently bought a non running Raptor 660,the primary issue would be the starter clutch that should be no problem to resolve, the secondary issue would be the flywheel that was removed by an idiot and bent the "position sensor thingy" as you will be able to see in the pictures. What I was told was that the engine came from a Tenere (injection model). The problem is I am not being able to find anything on the web remotely close to this flywheel and I am hoping someone knowledgeable will give me some insight on the matter.
