Hi guys. Posted on the welcome page and just thought id start off my post today. This morning me and some friends drove up to Nottingham to pick up my new bike. I got her off an ebay add last week. Here she stands - 1999 (first regged 03) Yamaha WR400 As you can see theres quite a few missing parts (mainly the barrel and cylinder head), However she has YZF450 Cams and ive been told was over 52hp when she blew. (the barrel cracked so the guy started to break her) Box of engine parts and boots and tyres the previous owner gave me with the bike Came with a spare set of black plastics too. So current plan is to rebuild engine check gearbox (fโฆ

Hi I'm Paul, new here from Ripon North Yorks. My Thunderace was bog standard when I bought it First job polished the rims and fit a stubby can Then disaster..knocked off by an old bloke and insurance declared bike a right off (paint damage) so bought it back, bought another frame and decided to do some modifications Got an R1 5PW rear Which will require subframe alteration So the cutting bending and head scratching started TIG welded Mock up getting ready for paint And a new shock off a ZX12R with Ducati dog bones Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is my first bike, bought it 18 months ago, real beauty, use it for work commute in London. After a year, felt it was time to change a few things, total newb to rebuilds. No skills so no chance to replicate some of the amazing mods dedicated people in this forum are doing on their bikes... My bike must have been running lean(?) as the temp was enough to eat away at the exhaust in the back pot, clutch needed changing (difficult to find neutral) and a few other things. Was I correct to assume it was running lean? Here are a few photos with some of the parts and compare to original. Not worried about resale value and original condition... Much... Chaโฆ

Yes peeps, it's been a few months since I had something new to play with, this FJ1100 was actually a freebie from the same guy I bought my FJ1200 from, story goes that it had its running gear pinched for a trike project and the rest was stored until I was given it many years later. I have already sourced an engine and most of the missing parts from a donor FJ I split for parts last month, I do like the smaller front fairing though

I have a couple of projects running simultaneously but the RaZoR is the main show. Other projects are mainly to relieve the frustration when this build is stalled. Back in the day I was seduced from the four-stroke mainstream by LC and then RZ Yamahas. I followed on with later iterations of Yamaha's two-stroke, twin cylinder offerings but the '83 RZeds are my alltime favourite bike. Exciting to ride, simple to work on - what more does anyone need? It turns out that what you want can become more important than needs. To that end I have started to build my ultimate homage to the RZ. Same looks, but tidied up some, and more horsepower. The starting point:โฆ

Hello and welcome to my build thread of my DT125 Ive actually jumped in a little late to be putting this up as the project is close to being finished as in a good day on her and shell be done now Right the bike when i first bought it The first thing i noticed which i am still very curious about is what was ground off the frame under the tank ? The frame is a 2004 Whatever it was it looks like he was very hasty to get rid of it as hed also cut into the oil tank abit. Hopefully wasnt much important if he thought he didnt need it Second of all i thought i best check out the frame number as you couldnt really see it under thโฆ

Well, here goes... my first rebuild project. She's in a sad state as illustrated by the photos. I've had this bike over ten years, and (with the help of my dad) had taken the engine off the frame to fix the clutch because it was seized... plus I took the head off (don't remember why as I've slept since then, but it does look like there's some scoring on the piston). That was a long time ago and as you can see it's still in pieces... so I'm now picking up where I left off. I'm a complete newbie bike mechanic, but I figure what better way to get to know my bike? Hopefully you all don't mind me pestering you for help along the way since my pops can't help me because I don't โฆ

I have an '87 RZ350 that I've had since 1987. I have a long build thread on another forum, so I'm not going to repeat everything. Sorry, just too much to repeat the 35 pages that I've already typed in. I'm the second owner of the bike. The first owner of the bike was a squid that had no respect for motorcycling. I think he was pissed up when he side swiped a tree with the bike. I bought it as a partial basket case. The frame had a missing section (where the kickstand used to be). The engine didn't work - the stator and rotor were screwed. The front bodywork was all smashed. It was a mess. I didn't even know if the front of the frame was straight. โฆ

Well here is my first ever project, bought myself a 1990 DTR frame. My plan is to convert it into a supermoto (may not happen considering DTX wheels are hard to find) have it with a white powdercoated frame, swingarm and fork legs. then maybe have a secondary colour of red or blue, undecided yet. Well here goes Starting off with a poorly painted frame by the previous owner, apparently it was one of his projects which he gave up with after being unable to find a wiring loom and needing money to get a new engine for his car as his current one had shat itself. Amazing how you can post something so large from London to South East Wales for only ยฃ15!!! Even got the frameโฆ
