Ok, enoughs enough with my bike. I want/need an expert to get this bike running correctly. Ive been to the dealers and they were not much help (1 hours labour), another local garage who said buy another carb or the engine seals have gone etc etc without looking at the bike. Im willing to pay someone to get this bike to work correctly i.e to start easily with the choke and without, idle correctly, to pull off with it bogging down and to set my power valve servo cables up correctly. Again Im willing to pay someone IF they can sort this out. Any takers I live in coventry

I've just picked up a 2006 Yamaha SR125. The bike was stood for about 6 months, but apparently (according to seller) without fuel in and undercover etc. as I was advised to ask. I asked them to see if it was running before I took it off their hands as I don't have a lot of experience (2nd bike, very much a newbie). He ensured me it had been running fine, and i picked it up. Now he did tell me the battery was dead so he had to bump start it, but again no big deal. Also there was some fuel in the tank that he said was no more than a week old and would be fine. Charged the battery and tried to fire her up, and nothing. So did a bit of research online and tried again, …

Hi everyone. I just bought my first bike, Yamaha XS750 Special 1978, and joined up on this forum. I'm having quite a few problem getting this thing back to it's former glory. Besides having issues with my flashers and ignition button, I am trying to find out where to connect the tach cable on the engine. Any and all help would be appreciated. God Bless! Brian

Hi Guys. May I pick your brains on a problem I am encountering? I have recently purchased a Yamaha Thundercat YZF600 1998. The bike won't start. When I turn the key, the gear neutral light comes on, but no ignition lights. But if I keep persevering, the ignition lights come on, and the bike starts fine. This can take anything from 5mins to half an hour or so :-( The bike has a Datatool alarm (don't know if it's also an immobilizer) fob. I have changed the battery in the fob, but still the same. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. EDIT* Forgot to mention. When I turn the ignition on, the indicator lights flash for 30 secs or more. Don't know if this is rele…

Hello everyone, I'm not getting a spark on my sr250 with a new coil, spark plug, and wire harness, I have been told that it is probably due to either a faulty CDI/TCI unit or pick-up coil. I was wondering if anyone could guide me through checking which it is, I know you can't really test the CDI unit so it would be checking to make sure the pick-up coil is fine before I purchase a new (and expensive) CDI unit. I'm not exactly sure how I go about checking the pick-up coil properly so if anyone could help me figure out how to do so that'd be great... so far this bike has been nothing but problems for me and I'd love to get it finally up and reliably running

I am looking to buy my first bike, looking at the V Star 650, the Suzuki Boulevard, and the Honda Shadow. A number of folks have recommended not going with the V Star because it is air-cooled and prone to over-heating. I'm surprised that that they are one of the only manufacturers with air-cooled engines, and wanted to understand the reason better. Are there really issues with air-cooled, or are the differences negligible?

Good morning all, new member here from Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm trying to repair a drilled out exhaust on a 1988 Route 66 250, now called the Virago 250. A previous owner drilled numerous holes in the rear of both mufflers, and now it is just too loud. There are too many holes and overlapping holes to put screws in. I'm thinking some kind of filler with a metal patch screwed on. This is a DIY project with the goal of being cheap. I am not a welder. Used pipes can be found for around $100, a last ditch option if necessary. Anybody have any experience or good ideas?

Hi Guys, I have a 1986 Radian which I wrecked a few weeks ago. The ignition rotor needs to be changed out as a result and I'm having a devil of a time getting it off. The Radians ignition rotor is not one of those big round ones, it's a small piece of metal kind of shaped like a tear drop. I could sure use any help you can give me. Thanks in advance. Don

Hi everyone. I purchased this bike for my son, prior to him taking his test, for some road practice. However it was running fine (well as fine as these bikes do) He parked it up, when he went to start it again - there was no spark. Tried a few various things, changed spark plug, checked kill switch wasn't stuck, bump start - nothing. We then handed it to our local mechanic. He checked the same as us, most of the connections were starting to corrode and they have cleaned them up No actual breaks in wiring. But he cannot find the correct OHMS readings for the Pick Up Coil and also the CDi unit. So still no spark. Any suggestions/or OHMS readings would be very…
