Hi, Recently bought a Yamaha xt125x but it has a broken break light switch of some sort. I've never owned a motorbike before so this is my first 125 running on L Plates with CBT. I have very little technical knolledge on the bike so i'm asking the pro's. The component im talking about appears to be a switch for the brake light. it is the component that connects to the brake leaver and had a blue and red wire connection to it. the switch has a sort of pin device that when pushed in turns on and off the light. the thread that screws into the leaver has snapped making the light remain on always. i've searched around and most results are diffrent to what i need. does an…

Hi All, Got a problem with 5th gear I think, when I select 5th it goes in ok but about 10 seconds later it drops back to 4th, almost like an automatic, doesn't do it all the time but bloody annoying never the less, most of the time it is fine but occasionally it just drops a gear and revs it's head off, if I hold it in gear with my foot for a few moments it seem's ok but I would like to fix it before it get's any worse. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks all.

Hi, my YZF750R stooped while riding the other day. I have initially checked fuel filter, pick-up, carbs etc and the fuel system appears to be clean and functioning properly. Now the bike will occasionally start, run for a couple of minutes, then die abruptly without any coughing or spluttering prior. After this I am unable to start it for a few hours, when it will do the same. I am thinking this is electrical but have no idea where to even begin. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

Hi, I'm just a newbie here but I know most people say that 125's really can't give you any power and all that. Still, I love my ybr bike and I really want to give it more power even for just a bit. Do you guys have any suggestions? i.e. CDI's without limiters and such. You'll need to be more specific and your explanations need to be crystal clear because I don't know much about bikes like the other people in this here forum. IF engine tweaks or any tweaks at all is needed, I'd prefer those with low risks on the wear and tear/damage added to the bike. Thanks in advanced

For reasons beyond my control, I need to salvage as much of the investment from my XS400 project and downgrade to a SR125 or equivilent sized bike. Has anyone or does anyone know if I can use XS wheels (hubs - front and rear) on an sr125? I suppose the rear would be an issue due to the size of the drum. Swing arm? I would also extend this inquiry to whether the xs fork legs would fit the sr crown as the xs runs a drum brake and the sr's I have seen have single disc. I have over £1000 invested in the wheels and would like to avoid the loss in the sale of the bike. Any help is appreciated.

Hi guess I'm what you call a newby? my problem is I bought an 1100 xvs yesterday and when the guy I bought it from started her up she sounded sweet as a daisy , I took her out for a run today and again she started sweet as a daisy but I found that sometimes when changing gears from first to second no probs - from second to third there is a whining noise appears and goes away , the bike does this all the way through to top gear and when you ease back on the throttle the noise appears again, if you pull the clutch in as though going to stop the noise goes away- not completely but just about , after stopping and starting her a couple of times I find the noise isn't allways …

Hi lads, Been having an issue with starting the Dragstar for the last week, hit the ignition and i could hear the stator whirring but no fire until i gave a couple of twists of the throttle. Now the aftermarket alarm installed on it nearly 2 years ago had been acting up a small bit. When i hit arm / disarm on the keyfob then the all the indicators would flash with a corresponding beep. Since the end of January only the left indicators would flash when hitting arm / disarm. And when coming home after a long spin 2 weeks ago the left indicators came on 3 / 4 times - not flashing, they stayed on static for about 30 seconds at a time. So i decided better have a look. I f…

Hello all. I've had a 2008 Yamaha YBR 125 for over a year and it has run perfectly with no problems until recently. The problem is it sometimes refuses to start (electric, kick or push). I'm not mechanically minded so please forgive me if I use the wrong terms but when it refuses the engine tries to turn but doesn't fire / ignite. I've replaced the spark plug and fully charged the battery but this has made no difference. My friend had a look over it checking all wires and connections and even tried it with 'easy start' spray but it wouldn't start. However the problem is intermittent. When it starts it runs fine. When it doesn't start it will later start …

Hey, I have recently brought an XVS 125 and was very pleased with my purchase, everything seemed in perfect working order until I changed the spark plugs and the oil filter and oil. I can now hear a very noticable rattle that was not there in the beginning. Please can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction. Have I done something wrong to cause this? LeeTeddy

Good day for Kiwi Land. My project is coming along very nicely. Wiring all done new sprockets and chain. brakes are sweet. and I have now connected my LED indicators thanks to the help of the excellent forum. Thanks guys. Okay now I have a new problem my bike accelerates excellent to a speed of 60Km but once it gets here the splutters constantly. I have removed the ring on the front exhaust and removed the rear baffle. But still she is stuck on 60Km. It feels like she is restricted on 60km. I would be happy to get about 80km. Please can all the Guru's out there share the knowledge and expertise? Thank you for the wise knowledge you are got to share with me.…
