the exhausts turned up and after a bit of a polarva they're on wahooo thank you to everyone who gave me advice n tips thay all helped me to fit them quicker the only probs i really had were with the hex bolts i bought i couldn't get them to screw into the cylinder head without cross threading so i had to re-thread the original lugs i took out (with mawl grips ) but it worked n now its on n back on the road wahoo so thanks again everyone

I just came into possession (real cheap) of a 1979 yamaha 1100 and there was no battery and not running. But I love the look the specs and the bike. Questions can I jump it? Since there was no battery there also was no cables to the battery left with the bike. So where to they hook to? I am assuming there is a ground that goes to the bottom of the tray and I found a red wire on the back that looks like it received the hot but I'm just guessing. Then what.... Bruce

ive got gunk in my rad so i changed the head gasket because i fort that was the problem and after running the bike for a couple of days the gunk is back in the rad can anyone spread some light on this for me

Hello Everyone I have a 1980 Yamaha xs400. I have rebuild the fuel petcock and it has very bad leak. The diaphragm has 2 gaskets onit and I dont have a gasket for the bottom half(theres where I think it is leaking from). Do I suppse to take one of those gaskets off the diaphragm and use it on the bottom half of the petcock?

I am seaking help diagnosing a headlight problem. It is an 85 XJ700 Maxim. All lights, and horn, work except the headlight. The headlight is not coming on, low nor high. The headlight bulb filaments, low and high, are fine. I even tried a new bulb. I found two small glass fuses under the seat, rated 30 amps each. They look fine. I changed their position, not that i think it would help, and nothing improved. All of the wiring on the bike appears to be intact and unaltered. The front turn signals come on, and blink. The rear signals are off, until they blink. The brake is on, and works when breaking. As far as I can tell the only part not working is the headlig…

After having the bike off the road for a year (lack of work , money etc )finally got new front tire and mot and thought yahoo Anyway after a few miles R6 started running on and off 4 cylinders to 3 and was gradually getting worse not really bad as bike would still rev just lacked a bit of power until 4th cylinder kicked in again I left bike in garage over the year with a little fuel in tank but never drained carbs so should I try a fuel cleaner through tank if so could anyone recomend one or is it best take bike to dealers or any ideas appreciated

I brought this fazer because all the reviews said about how reliable the are. 150 miles later its a very expensive garden ornament. Anyway, i took it out one day running fine tried to go home and strugled to keep it going. It wouldn't rev over 3000. Now it will just tick over, touch the throtle and it died. Any 1 else had similar trouble, and what was the problem?

can any one help me please i changed the head gasket on my dt 125 the other day and took the power valve off the head when i finished i put it all back together by putting the head on then i put the power valve back on then i started the bike up and it was running fine so i took the bike out for a run and i new there was something wrong with my bike then power valve was not kicking in now the bike will only do about 50mph and it wont rev over 7000 revs. can any one help me pleaseee

Hi there ppl. got a dt125 made in 89 and im sure i will want to upgrade in the near future. dont feel like reboring so im looking for an alternative engine 250cc or more to fit the frame. anyone ever tried doin this and what engine have you used. all input is welcome and thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a 2006 xv1700 Roadstar Silverado and have fuel entering the air cleaner via the vacuum chamber breather hose (Carb to Air cleaner) does this mean the diaphragm has perished? As this looks OK on inspection.

Went to put on the new Renthal Twin Wall handlebars today, but came across a slight problem, the o/d of the bar is 28.5mm and the clamps are meant to take 22mm bars, has anybody else fitted these type of bar? and how did they get around the difference in bar to clamp size? is there some type of conversion kit you need to buy? any help is much appreciated.

Hey guys. First off, I just want to thank you for all your help with past topics. I have been reading a lot of posts to try and "spruce up" my 750 Virago and this site has helped tons. But now I need some more help. I recently bought an XS1100. It ran 2 years go. It sat outside and I spotted it finally and just offered him $200 and he took it. It has awesome compression and gets fuel. I have found there is no spark. I can spray Starting fluid like hell into the airbox and I don't even get a sputter. I was told to try and change the CDI, so I did, still nothing. I have power coming through the whole fuse block and Solenoid. I am fairly mechanically inclined and…

thunderace 1999. when i try to start the bike it struggles to start. engine turning slowley then fires up after 4 turns. any idea what the cause is. battery is fully charged and just had new clutch fluide.

Hi everybody my name is Karl and I'm new to this so please bear with me. my dad got me a tzr125r which wont start the generator had been removed as with the carb. we have a spark, petrol getting to the plug and compression, but it wont start. we have replaced the l/h crankcase seal because it was weeping, replaced the generator with the woodruff key, the carb is a DELLORTO which we found the circlip on the centre pin loose, the circlip has been placed on the 4th groove down and a washer placed under the clip, however we are unsure of the float height setting, does anyone know this setting ? is it 22mm ? and has 2 seperate floats. can anyone help or have any other ideas wh…

Hi, got a problem with my fazer 600, not long bought her and tell you the truth, everything was a bit of a mess, been sitting about for a year or two, outside under cover, arrgg, anyway had to clear the whole fuel system out, tank and everything, runs like a dream now, until you start to ride her a bit harder, get to about 10 grand and she starts to die and would cut out, but if you get her into neutral before she does everything seems fine again until you go near the ten grand again or sometimes as low as 8, depending on how hard you drive her, anybody got any ideas
