Hey there boys and girls! I have a sept 10 reg YBR125, which was unfortunately written off in February 2011 when some berk drove into me. I am trying to get her back on the road as reasonably as possible, I will even leave her with her scars on show. The main problem I have is the clocks are buggered from being rolled. Is it possible to put the earlier (pre 2010) clocks onto this bike? I realise that the engine management light will not be connected. If so, are the plugs physically different, i.e. will I need to hack the wiring up to do this? Your help will be much appreciated Dirk

Hello all. I own a 1995 SR125. I'm looking in to upgrading my headlamp. I've glimpsed at just replacing the bulb but after turning to a friend he's told me that they tend to blow and can melt the wiring and pointed me in the direction of costly conversion kits. He only has experience with car lights though. I've looked into both options and am not sure which road to follow. I've read a few posts on here that say people have simply replaced bulbs and that has worked wonders for them however i do like to do the job properly and am prepared to spend a little bit of money. The direct replacement bulbs i have looked at are the H4 ones going for about £5 on ebay but I'…

Hi all ! Was hoping someone would be kind enough to give me some pointers on this issue. I have a xvs 125 dragstar. Within about 10seconds of riding it splutters and jolts bad to a stop. Its fine running stationary in neutral. I have taken the carb off and checked all the fuel feeds for blockages, the pump seems to be doing its job.. so i belive fuel is getting to the carb. It feels likes its just about to run out of fuel (its not), thats why i checked the fuel system first. I didnt take the carb apart (got scared), but only what I can see down through the centre it seems quite clean, but could there be a problem inside possibly? I am just speculating…

My TTR50(13mm Mikuni VM carb.) will not start without the choke on. After less than 10 min.I can shut off the choke and it will keep running. The idle speed screw has to be set a little on the high side to keep the bike running. The air mixture screw has absolutely NO effect on my set idle speed. Otherwise the bike does run ok. I live at 3900 ft above sea level in the Mojave Desert. Do you think the bike is running very lean? What size main jet and pilot jet should I use. Please Help.

  6. Hello everybody! I have a question for you: After heavy rain or a long stay at rain at my Yamaha X-MAX 250 (YP250R) the engine does not want to start. Starter works fine. Battery is ok. But the engine does not response. If I let my Yamaha dry the engine starts runnig but only for a moment then stopes. If the engine is runnig and I give more throttle also the engine stopes. Interesting is that as more and more my Yamaha dries as less the engine stoppes. If problem is almost gone only at the full throttle the engine jumps, stoppes for a sec. It seems that there is a problem with the electrics. I have checked connections but I have not found any probl…

Hello everyone, I've had my YBR for 7 good months now during which time it has been totally trouble free. The other day i took the bike for a 50 mile ride along faster roads (holding a steady 65) with which it just about handled in the normal YBR fashion, however as i neared my destination the engine began to run in a very strange manner, there was a really noticeable decrease in power and as i twisted the throttle the delivery was not at all smooth. The bike was shaking markedly more than usual, to the point where it was feeling rather unstable. I managed to get it home where since i've done the usual checks; air filter, fuel filter, spark plug and chain wh…

Hi everyone I recently bought a new WR125 I have managed to break the bracket that that holds the tail piece on meaning the very back bit is flapping a bit, I think i managed to catch it as i kicked my leg over the bike as its very tall even at 6ft, fine when your on though. Has anyone else had a similar thing happen I have thought of buying a new one but as its otherwise as new seems a waste. Anyone managed a repair or had to buy a new one? Also how does it come off? Cheers Nigel

Hi peeps, I'm rewiring the tracker from scratch and have a layout board to make a new loom. Now I'm confused as to what size cable to buy. I'm looking at thinwall stuff to keep everything as tight as poss. 0.5mm is good for 11 amps 1mm good for 16.5 amps I figure that's all i need as the highest amps is 15amps from the stator. 180watts/12volts = amps have i under estimated this i.e. too close to its max rating? any other info would be nice, like can i get bullet conectors to fit the thinner stuff? cheers Drewps

Just a quick question. I have a XJ900F (on an E-plate - 1987) which I use as a work hack (great bike btw) Did Yamaha at any time (for the UK Market) have ventilated discs front and rear or just rear .... I ask as some plum on the bay of e has sent thru' 2 rear vented discs claiming they are from the front. So before I let lose on him, I thought I'd post and ask the question here ... Thanks for looking btw ..... Cheers Richard (Southampton UK)

Hi guys, I went into halfords earlier to get some polish for my exhaust and noticed some motorcycle chain lube and motorcyle chain cleaner. Do I need some of this and how often am I supposed to put lube on the chain? Is there anything else I am supposed to do to my bike every now and then or any other products that I might need that I don't know about? Thanks.

Well peeps im finally back in the UK, bought my bike back from benson and thought it would be a great idea to slap on those stainless brake lines i bought whilst i was away for a bit of extra bling, got to the last line and found it didnt fit as the banjos were pointing in the wrong direction, so i sent the faulty brake line back and used my original one in place for now, only when i came to bleed to system ive now found that my master cylinder seals have collapsed resulting in no pressure in the system... only when ive come inside to look for more seals, the only kit i can find is from wemoto for £40!, thats a bit feckin steep for a few o-rings and a spring?. d…

Hey. So I just got a 1991 Yamaha rxs 100. I love it. I'm keeping it standard, but I thought the oil pump was over oiling, so I took to it and adjusted it. Someone had added way too many shims in. Then, I took to the Carb and just cleaned it out really. Everything is back on now and when I start the bike it revs straight up at 7-8,000 rpm. I know the obvious thing to check would be the idling screw but I've done that. Whether I screw or unscrew it, it doesn't make a difference. Whats the next thing that might be wrong? The pilot screw is 1 1/4 out... I"m struggling to think of what the problem may be, any help would be very much appreciated. THANKS

Hey guys, have been searching for info on PV setups for last couple of days, but all the info i can find is for servo controlled PV setups, which i dont think mine is. My bike feels real flat until you hit 6.5/7krpm, then its on full power. Was told this sounds like the powervalve being pinned fully open? So am i right in thinking that providing its non servo, it would have come from the dealer pinned fully closed and so restricted heavily? And if that is the case, is there any way of getting a happy medium? i will be using the bike for a lot of town riding, so low down power would be useful, but i also want to have the extra grunt at top end! am i going to have…

hello out there! Can someone put me right please? I need an exhaust box for my 1997 660 Tenere. Can i use any one from any other engine sized Tenere? I don't know how specifically they are made per engine size, or model re. fitting points, etc. Also i presume other style exhausts are out there made for my bike...i just want something to do the job, that won't cost me hundreds of pounds. Maybe someones got one, i do have a post in the Wanted section, Thanks
