As Alex is away now, he is unable to manually update the portal as he was doing. So he disabled it and redirected all traffic straight to the forum. But new members expect to see a portal with some content. They may not actually use it, but it acts like a shop window for the site. The redirect for yamahaclub.com now diverts everybody to the portal first. From there, people can select Forums, Gallery, Registration etc. we've also got 9 live newsfeeds from bike sites being piped in there, and they auto-update every 30 mins. So I have absolutely nothing to do to it to keep it running....which is nice. Oh and a new logo too. Hope you like all the stuff. Just click …

Hey all you two stroke fans (( 2 Strokes Rule )). What do you do? Do you trust the oil pump or just mix it in with the petrol? I myself use a pre-mix for the off-roader and i trust the oil pump for the roadie!!! What about you people??

It's that time of year again for me to go out and spend some of my hard earned cash making sure my Divvi is safe from the White Vans  and grubby little urchins  on study leave again. Trouble is I just got a renewal quote from Carol Nash and it's gone up....ok no surprise there i guess, but i now have more no claims and it rose over 37% ( yes i am a sad stat man ). After i phoned them they told me it was so cheap last time round because I got a "joining discount" but there was no such thing as a loyalty discount. Is it just me or does that blow bigger chunks than my divvi at the moment?? Any ideas on another cheap place to get insurance......I need c…

Following on from "What makes a real Biker". It would be fun to read of the bikes people lusted after, but never got to own at various points in their biking life. A few of mine in no particular order are: Honda 305 (late 60s), 750 Four Yamaha 80 (when I was 15), 750 triple (shaft drive) and first XJs Suzuki GS1000 and Katanas Triumph Trident (1970s) Kawasaki ZX10 Norton Commando 750 fastback The reason for not getting any of these was age or money. I have never wanted a BMW, Harley, Ducati although the Benellis in the 60s and early 70s looked the part.

to clean your visor? I heard on the trade grapevine today that Arai japan are taking Autoglym to court over their Helmet and visor cleaner. Apparently it is petrochemical based and is causing the plastic to crumble and fail. It does not affect the fibre shell (arai only use fibre) but it "causing them great concern" and can prove their claims. If Arai think this is happening to the plastic on their lids makes you wonder what it's doing to some of the polycarb ones does't it! :?:

Hi Folks, Has anyone used Ultra Seal in their tyres? If you have, does it work? I have discovered that although the XT uses tubes, the rims are tubeless types and to change a tyre needs a bead breaker. So fixing punctures/replacing tubes is not as straightforward as it might be. Alan

Hi guys, I know there's no excuse for Suzuki ownership............but have you seen the Suzuki GS500f! It's pretty nice looking and it's the only sports bike looking commuter around in the market! :? Don't you think it would be a decent bike to have as a first? Bearing in mind that I only like sporty looking bikes.

I've just ridden a Rocket III! My first thought it is immense, an olympic gymnast would have trouble throwing a leg over! Still never one to pass on a chance to ride I get on. The 320KG feels like a mere 1320KG and I nearly get a hernia . :? On with the engine and pull away I head to the nearest twistys and nearly crash it handles abysmally oh well. Find a straight and lets get this bad boy going, The 2294cc engine with 147ft.lbf of torque at 2500rpm leaves you with the feeling that it wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding. You can get groovy accessories to, you know like leather chaps and gimp masks that's got to worth 11k of anyones money

Have any of you tried Armor All on your plastics? It works really well. I followed the instructions - wipe on (leave for 30minutes) - wipe on again (leave for another 30 minutes) - wipe on a third time (leave all night) - buff it up. I have always used Crystal GLO as my polish, but even though it is non abrasive (unlike Auto Glym) it isn't as effective. Crystal GLO is excellent on engine cases, exhausts, wheels and frame rails by the way. Another good move is to stick clear vinyl on vulnerable surfaces - forks, inside the swing arm etc. This will keep your pride and joy from chipping. Finally (How sad am I?) I paint "Protect and Ride" onto all the potental corrosion…

We've had a few discussions on here about chain care and lubing, and I came across this site tonight. Very interesting stuff that you need to read. Please note that they ONLY recommend PJ1 Blue...like I do! 8) http://www.quality-cycle.com/truth_about_m...ycle_chains.htm
