Met up with twistedmetal (Darren) today at the Elan Valley Centre in Mid Wales cos a few of the WSaTC guys were meeting up there. Anyway....it appears as if he lost control of his bike riding home and has been taken by ambulance to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny. I had already left about an hour before, but one of the guys found him at the side of the road. First indications appear that he's got a broken wrist, not sure of anything else at the moment cos the Ambulance hasn't got him to the Hospital yet. We're arranging to collect his bike and get it to my garage so it'll be safe. I'll keep you updated on developments, but does anybody here have his home telepho…

The ZX10 front wheel fiasco is the latest in a long line of worrying problems with new models from the Big Four. We, Joe Public, are doing the manufacturers' development work for them. By memory - I can recall Suzuki's TL100s' Rotary Damper problems, Hayabusa rear sub frames breaking, 01 Bandit 12s drinking oil due to faulty pistons, Honda's first Varaderos needing new engines, their first new Pans also needing new engines and frame modifications due to heat build up, R1s with clutch basket problems. It's a long list. Then there were the Triumph Daytonas that needed new frames, the TTs with Fuel Injection woes. Harley's V Rod has problems I've been told. All this is …

Had a little run about today, and stopped in the Co-op car park in Lampeter for a burger. And what did I find parked there? 1956 Velo...not sure what model, but it's water cooled and shaft drive, and owned by the woman working in the Burger Van. Anyway, carried in and was tailed by a big musclebike through about 5 miles of tight twisties. When we reached a long straight he caught me up, and bloody hell...I've never seen anything like it! NOTHING has ever accelerated past me that fast and completely silently. Anyway we hit a load of traffic and we pulled into Llandovery together. He got off, we had a good chat, and it turned out that he…

Here's a stupid story! I've been trying to get a screen for the XT, and only one company makes them....Secdem in France. Their website is all in French, so I e-mail them in English saying I want to order a screen. And I get no reply! So...I locate the only stockist of Secdem products in the UK...Motobins in East Anglia. I phoned them up and said I wanted to order a screen for my XT600. They refused to accept my order because they will not take any orders UNLESS it's for a BMW. So for the sake of elitism and brand snobbery, these wankers turn business away! The whole world's gone fucking mad!

on your own or with a friend/group? i have always prefered to ride on my own, the only person i feel comfortable riding any distance with is my dad, if i ride with a mate it just gets daft  it also attracts alot of attention if yer riding fast, people think you're racing even if ya aint. i find in groups people think they need to ride faster than they actually do and it pushes people into riding beyond their capabilities. not a good idea esp if there is an inexperienced rider amongst the group! i think it is really irresponsible of the other rider if they push it knowing there is someone of lesser experience there. ride on your own, you get to learn at your own pac…

Right what would you lot do in a situation like this, you share a lock up with a "mate" who decides after 5 years yes 5 !!!! that he wants rent  :?. But thats not it. his borthers bike's in there too (and has been for over 2 years), now I sad to him this afternoon about the rent, I also said "it'd need to be slit 3 ways, since we all have keys". He then said "I cant take money off my brother, he helped over the years", I didn't say anything there n then. But he seems forget (yea right) about the time I gave a loan of my bike for week to start his new job!! (been there 4 years now). Or he wouldn't have his fuckin' 12 bandit  And the bike he's g…

It's a great achievement for him and I am very proud but the chances of him winning are a million to one! I suppose I can always video the racing. What would you guys do?

Tried it yesterday for the first time on the way back from Bristol. And I tell you what....I'm VERY impressed. Bike seemed quicker on pickup and even idled smoother. I'll use it at every opportunity from now on, but unfortunately there's no Shell stations in this area, so I can't use it on a regular basis. Have you tried it?

right folks a new addition has been added to our wonderfull forum, this will let us upload pics of our bikes direct to the forum, read the instructions and enjoy 8) First, you have to have an account at the Gallery....it takes about 10 seconds. Then log into your new account. Once you're in the gallery, click on "my gallery" at the top and then "create/order my albums" In order to upload pictures, you have to create an album to put them in. This will allow you to do that. Click "new" at the bottom of the album list window. You'll see "new album" appear. Click on "apply modifications", and say yes to the prompt. You can give your album another name after it'…

Hi Guys, I've been trying to get some bike insurance quotes all day and was wondering how should be paying? I tried Norwich Union at for for a quote on a 2003 Yamaha R6 and it came out with £3000 TPF&T!!!! WTF!!!! I came across Insurance2000, which I found on the back of Ride Magazine and gave it a go with the following bikes (All are TPF&F quotes): 2003-2004 Yamaha R6 = £761.00 per annual 2004 Honda CBR600RR = £761.00 per annual 2004 Suzuki GSXR600 = £680.00 per annual 2004 Honda CBR125R = £450.00 per annual What do you think? Are these good prices??
