While out a run yesterday we stopped at Luss, and a guy came up to me and asked what I'd done to my bike, eg why did I streetfighter it. I said I didnt, but to cut a long story short, he want's to swap his a perfectly good standard bike very same as mine but a 93' K reg. Now he's had (so he say's) his engine tuned but it's bored out, (I think), race cam's, gas flowed head and a stage 7 Dyno kit. Plus he's taken the exup valve away and got a full stainless Micron system on, he reckons his bike's just nder a 900cc. But none of his brake light's worked, or the rev couter/indicator's, he said it just needs the wire's connected. Y'see I'm looking for a standard bike an…

............cool or not? I am thinking of getting one, and colouring the "metzeler meZ3" bit on the tyre white, as it seems to be coming back into fashion. Does anyone do it, done it, or thinking of doing it? Don't fancy doing it, then realising that I look like a complete teapot!

Me and Alex were talking about a big meet for everybody in the next few months. But the location will have to be a mutually convenient point for everybody. I'm in Mid Wales, Alex is in Brighton....so from those 2 locations the mutually convenient pont would be somewhere like Swindon. I think Derek is near Swindon too, and Mozzy is in Bristol, so that fits in with those guys. So can you post your locations here and we can try and gauge a central point that suits everybody.

Hi, I've just quit the Arms' Race and traded in a CB1300 for an XT660R. Although no firebreathing monster at 113bhp, the CB was a torque fiend at 86 ft lbs. Why did I change to the XT. Well, the Honda wasn't actually that great with a few minor but very irritating niggles. Lovely engine, decent gearbox and handling but too much of a Gentleman's Express and a total lack of character. I fell in love with the looks, but owning a Posemobile has a limited appeal after a while. All this got me thinking about the state of motorcycling today. I love all things bike and the latest generation of sports bikes are truly awesome and in the R1's case very beautiful as well. The Big F…

just had the bike all over, 80 miles or so, and bloody hell it was fun 8) the route went like this, over to nearby village 'sandhead' along the back roads by the airbase giving it big licks , dunragit, glenluce, then down over to port william(it's like craggy island there  all the old guys were out looking at the bike, petrol pumps in the wee garage that looked like they were from the 60's/70's) and along all the roads round that area. just sitting at a smooth 60/70 the whole way. cleared my head no end 8) some great flowing tight corners on that road, got the tyres worn right to the edges now  anyone else out tonight?

Iv'e read quite a bit on here and elsewhere about ppl with those things and how good they are, yea they are good in the dry but not the wet!. My mate has got them for his VFR (well someone has to buy Honda I suppose) hasn't put them on yet. But am I the only one who doesn't like them in the wet? He seemed really quite chuffed that he's got them, I'm gona see him sometime today and ask him. I know someone else too that put them on his 1k Geny and ranted about them, like I say so far Iv'e had no probs with them in the dry, but thats where I draw the line.

Nice run on the XT today...150 miles! 8) Had to pick up some computer bits in Cardiff so I thought I'd use the bike. From Llandod to Brecon, then across the Beacons, and straight down the A470 into Cardiff. Then back through Newport, Raglan, and Abergavenny. Beautiful weather, the XT's definitely loosening up now, and passed 2700 miles. Next week or so it'll be time for an oil and filter change, which will be the second one since I had it a month ago with 1600 on the clock. As you can see, I really take my oil and filter changes seriously.....no more than 1500 miles between them. It pays off in the end you know! 8)
