  1. Cynic suggested a regular drawing for the forum, this is the first, it was promted by membership of a motorbike club I once used to go to and some of the (almost unkind/unfeeling) comments I used to hear there although it's quite funny looking back...maybe this will promt a few comments from forum members, I hope so

  3. We got delayed in cyprus on the way to afghan once, for 4 days all we had was the kit we were stood in and an overnight bag, so with nothing to wear out to the pub we decided to make our own fancy dress, the first night it was a toga party (bedsheets, flip flops and the military issue green belt), the next night was whatever we could beg/borrow/steal/make. I went as bo-peep, using an old tablecloth we "borrowed" from the cookhouse, a bathmat and a treebranch i found. a few of the other lads from my unit went as my sheep, its amazing what you can do with cotton wool and some facepaint

  8. So I picked up my bike first thing this morning. Funnily enough I wasn't nervous about riding it, instead it was the thought of just getting on the bike in front of the showroom, silly i know. The bike is quite tall and I had visions that I'd smack my leg into the pillion seat. So that's exactly what I did... Idiot! Anyway, second attempt and I was on. Then my nerves moved onto the height of the bike and starting to think about stopping on roads with an uneven surface. but i pushed that to the back of my mind and set off for the 40ish mile trip home over the Pennines. En route I stopped off at an industrial park to practice some slow speed manoeuvres, just to become acquainted with my new steed. The ride home was fun, and even the rain didn't put a downer on things. Once I got home, I dropped off all the paperwork etc then went out for another ride. I even went on the motorway for the first time ever on a bike. The screen and fairing made it a pleasant experience actually. However I soon got bored and made my way back to the twisties! The height is now less of a concern, so I think if I continue to gain confidence in the bike I won't find myself thinking about that too much. My main observation is how heavy it is when pushing it. Blokes may find it easier I don't know, but I've already pulled both my arms while trying to straighten it up outside my house, ha ha!

  9. I'd happily own a Honda - Blackbird, Pan 1100 or *maybe* even a Shadow. Suzuki... depends. G-Strider for sure, as I love spaceships Kawasaki is DEFINITELY lifting some shirts. Hardly - Wants to be gay, but gay doesn't come with chrome accents and the wife won't let him, so goes for the Bear look. Triumph - Since the 1960s, these bikes have come with a 2' spanner in the under-seat toolkit just so their owners have something to beat Mods up with. Very NOT gay!! But anyway, homos are great... well, the ones I'm friends with, anyway. Half are personal security/close protection and martial artists. The most impressive one is also a 6' 3" part-time transvestite who can kickbox in his high heels - When you watch a scrote have his arse handed him by a guy like that, it just makes your day!!!
