Hi Everyone, I have a 1992 DT 175 that is pretty much the same as 81 UK model. I have a leak coming from my auto lube pump and have not had a chance to check it out as yet. When I emptied the 2 stroke tank while restoring the bike, I did not bleed the air out of the line when I refilled the tank. I have ridden roughly 1,000km since then. Could this have damaged the pump? Regards, Matthew

My dt 125r does not idle, even when hot! The bike bogs when still cold or hot, I could ride or half hour and stop and the bike will just cut out, I have to keep the revs high to keep the bike going! It's really frustrating! Help? Thanks

When i start it and the kick arm returns to its position I get a whirring noise like something catching. If I pull the arm back slightly it goes away. I have had to reposition the arm to rest against the casing to stop the noise. What is going on in there..is a return spring worn? A stopper on the arm would be a quick fix.

After removing the functioning speedometer and cable from my DT175E for painting, I reinstalled it with a new cable and it worked for a few short miles around town before going dead. It seemed to skip, dropping to 0mph, then popping back up to speed, and did this for another mile or so. I pulled the whole front wheel, cable, and speedometer and cleaned all thoroughly with solvent, re-greased, and reinstalled. Everything seemed to spin fine in the wheel assembly. I took a drive with the cable disconnected from the speedo but connected to the wheel and could see that the inner cable wasn't spinning. I have an 80's something DT175mx. I majorly crashed it a year ago off road and am now in the process of transfering everything onto a spare DT frame that I have. I bent the frame beyond repair and although I got it up and running again it just isn't the same. I started to transfer everything across and then came to a stand still. The rear swing arm bolt would not come out. So after grinding, heating and much hammer hitting (and lots of swearing) it finally came out. Damaging the swing Arm bush in the process. The thing is the spare swing arm was removed in a similar way so I have no way of ordering the correct bush kit as both are now goosed. Another hurdle I am faced …

Hi everyone, I have a 1978 DT250 all original. About 10 years ago it ran fine but the carb started leaking gas. I did some work for a motorcycle mechanics...on his home..and traded for him to rebuild the carb. He did and it's been in a baggie till now. My boy is now old enough and wants to get the bike back running. I installed the carb but cant get it to start.....I don't believe it's getting fuel. I sprayed starting fluid into the air box and it ran at about 8000 rpms for 10 seconds or so. Is there something to do to get a rebuilt carb flowing gas again? I flushed the tank and fuel line and put in fresh gas before I hooked up rebuilt carb. Thanks fo…

Hi folks, Looking at the following installation diagram ... I get the + and - (battery connections) but not sure about the third ... what is a neutral connection (see pic below)? With a car I have the 12V and ground, domestic wiring is clear at Pos, Neut and earth but haven't done any wiring on a bike. Anyone got the answer to this? Thanks

First post, so don't flame me if it's in the wrong section please. Stripping forks on a YBR 125 - 2007 (fuel injection) and got stumped trying to unscrew the bottom bolt which holds the damper rod. When I look through the top of the stanchion with a torchlight, I can see the top of the damper rod has some sort of socket, but I cannot see it well enough to work out what kind of socket size or type. I've tried searching the interwebz for Yamaha damper rod tool but haven't really come up with anything solid. Can anyone help shed some light on this? What kind of socket has the damper rod on this fork, and if it is a proprietary Yamaha one, can I get hold of a too…

i have a 52 plate sr 125 and have been riding for about a month so far i have changed the chain and sprockets oil and replaced a few broken parts. all was going well but now the bike keeps cutting out on me had it on the center stand ticking over and it cut out been riding along with no problems and all of a sudden it will cut out. wher i does cut out it takes a few attempts to get it started again iv checked that there is fuel and have even switched over to reserve tank to see if it made any difference and it has not any help would be great

so I decided to go for a new top end after my DT decided to eat one of its piston rings. was thinking vertex but the small end bearing seems to be a different size (17.5mm instead of 19.5mm), presumably this is just the internal size so I can use the same rod?

Hi guys hope everyone is ok and not missing me too much. Hopefully I will get the bike sorted soon! The bike has stood in my garden for a good few months now with no oil in the engine. Will this damage the engine further>? Also I bet the battery is dead, what other things do I need to look for?

Good morning bros and babes...after reading up about my bike I have found out references to the fact that this bike was originally built for a 250 engine. Just wondering if anyone on here has had any experience changing an XVS 125 ro a 250...and if so what was required? A friends says just different heads and pistons but im sure theres more to it (carbs...exhaust etc)

So, my one if my forks (left to be precise) started leaking quite abit if black oil, it started running down the fork and got my fork cover soaked, I've litterly just cut the cover off and all this black jelly stuff was under the cover, I didn't look nice! Anyone know what this black jelly stuff is? Also my fork seal hasn't popped out so why is my fork leaking oil where the fork seal is?

Did a valve job on my bike, new spark plugs, oil filter and oil. Now my bike wont start.... It ticks over and then makes a funny noise and then nothing... Anyone have any ideas ?????

Hello people need some help on my dtr 2004, i got a dep pipe offline the other day as my standard exhaust is dead, On my standard exhaust there is a chrome bar that has few rubber pipes that go back into the air box. heard that its a eco friendly thing for the co2 but not to sure myself. anyway on the dep pipe there is no hole for the chrome pipe to attach to so wanted to know what is need to do?? can i just block the chrome pipe up or would i have to remove the hole thing i.e all the rubber pipes to the air box ect? this is a photo of the standard exhaust with the chrome pipe ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT GUYS CHEERS

Hi everyone! I was hoping for some help if anyone knows about the wiring on a dt? im trying to wire up my brake light, but dont know what wires to plug into it! Hello all, Sorry for the essay, I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts and thought it'd be best to include as much as I could. My little DT has developed a knocking sound (started off quiet and gradually got louder over about 50 miles) The bike has done 16500 miles and I've put about 500 miles on her in a month. After reading the Haynes I convinced myself it would be a big-end bearing that had worn. So I took the head and barrel off with relative ease and noticed a few things; Bolts weren't evenly tightened on head and cylinder.
