    Howdi all, dragged home a very sad looking 1980 Yamaha DX100. After picking it up for the small amount of coins i had on the floor of my car I attempted some research...........Cant really find much info at all on it - it looks similar to the YB100 although its definately stamped as a DX100 on the compliance plate. Any info on this find would be greatly appreciated or if you've ever owned one? Some pics:

Hi All In the sh1t again with my virago xv750 of 1995 era had a problem with the gear box so went bought a complete engine less carbs and coils its an 1100 xv of 1990 every thing fits on nay bother the carbs from 750 and the coils also engine put into frame last night, today i went to put the wireing back into the various places all colours were the same etc till i got to the ignition pick up there are 4 wires instead of 2 from the 750 , have thought of just whipping off the left hand side engine caseing and swopping the pick ups around but will it fire up ok has anyone done this before and perhaps had the same hurdle , any info would be much apprecia…

    So I'm shaping up to changing the chain and Sprockets on the DT, wondering what brands anyone can recommend? DID seem to be the most popular choice chain wise so think I'm sorted there. Which brands are best for sprockets? JT and sunstar seem very popular.

    So I decided to fire up my Road Star after it was sitting for 2 years (yeah ..i know). I got a new battery, some gas conditioner and with some prodding it started 3 weeks ago. Took it for a ride and its been ok till today. It just wouldn't fire. All the lights work...checked the carb and it's getting gas when I turn the throttle. Tried to start it in gear with the clutch in and it pulls forward a hair...so that seems normal. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be really appreciated ... thanks Zum.

    hi i have a rxs and it seems to be leaking somethink from the bottom left hand side it goes on bth my stands and very faintly on my rear tyre i belive is gear oil if i take the case of theres this rd that can be pulled out what is that? i think it maybe comming from that so dunno what seal to buy or could it be somethink else? heers andy

    Hi All Wonder if anyone can help out. I own a 1990 FJ1200 with Vin No 3CV010220. On a recent ride out i lost the right from indicator lens and am have trouble replacing it. Every one i have bought of E Bay, which they assure me will fit, is to short to fit onto the housing. Did Yamaha change the fairing on my bike? or have i got an oddball? I would appreciate any advice (UK Dealer, Part No etc) so i get the bike back on the road Cheers all Gary

  8. Hi, ive been driving cars for 10+ years and decided to get a bike as i'll be studying in Leeds in September and wanted a commuter bike. I know nothing about bikes, but sold the car and bought myself a 2006 125 DT RE. Took it out for the first time last night and stupidy (i know now) drove it with the choke on. I've come to strat it this morning and it turns over but does not start. Ive tried turning the choke over and spinning the engine for 5 seconds and trying to start it but still doesnt spark. This leaqds me to my question, i understand i need to get the spark plug out and clean it, but where is the spark plug? ive got no idea. have i wrecked the bike?…

Crank is in its original packing with original label : 10V-11400-01 44 7767-4 also some1 has diy hand written into the box "Dt125 LC" at my 3pa engine (1 of them) that i need to complitely Rebuild, the Crank is typically worn, as in many 125cc 2T Yamaha's, being that Crank/main bearing fittment is so loose that Crank will wobble causing serious issues...     Hi All I have 2007 YBR125 with intermittent starting problems. I turn on ingnition and fuel pump does not prime so engine doesn't start. Have spoken to other users who have same problem so not uncommon. Does anyone know the solution? Wating 15 minutes then throwing water over it doesnt seem practical !!!!! Thanks Martin

Hello people I was told by a person on YouTube that if you earthed a wire behind the speedo your top end speed will be faster and I wanted to try it out, so had a look and there is a few wires there but didn't know what one it was so if anyone knows what wire I should be looking for could you help me out please Cheers Lewis

    Members - I have inherited this 'challenge' from my son with the words- could you just sort this out please Dad......... The bike has been a runner but has stood for a long period of time without use during the winter. When the ignition is turned on, and with the fuel switch in either ON or RES, the petrol pump starts ticking and does not stop, after a few seconds fuel starts spewing out of the lower of the two parallel chrome pipes on the RH side and ends up in a pool on the top of the crankcase/gearbox area. So my question is why is this happening? should there be another rubber pipe connected to the bottom of the chrome pipe to run it off or return it somewhere? how…

    Ive just bought a yamaha dt 125r sm as a little project, its previously had both top and bottom end rebuilds. The previous owner admitted he spanked it everywhere and has cooked the engine. The bore is fine as is the piston, theres alot of oil in the radiator but the thing thats confused me is it seems theres 4 stroke in the head, any ideas?

    right, i have a yamaha sr125 (82) and i cant seem to get the indicators working right whatsoever.. it uses a 2 pin indicator but i assume its screwed, the rear indicators will light up and not flash, but the fronts wont light up at all.. ive taken apart my relay to have a nose and they seem pretty basic so i cant see how this could break? i used a pair of pliers to make the 2 connections touch and the rears would light up, i let go.. and they go off, seems normal to me but they dont flash on their own and i still dont have front indicators? any help appreciated, this is driving me nuts!

  17. Hi there, is there a rough mileage at which you would expect to want to be replacing the cam chain/tensioner? My ybr is coming up on 17k and I'm starting to hear what I think is a bit of ticking, the valves could probably use checking but they won't be massively out as I only checked them about 5-6k ago. I change the oil every 1500 miles so it shouldn't be a lubrication problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated, also is there anything else I should be thinking about at this sort of mileage? Cheers

I seem to be having a lot of issues with my bike such as misfiring when I'm throttling the bike and even after being sat for 5 minutes with the choke on the bike still will not idle when the choke is released. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp91D4DgS9k&feature=youtu.be And it will not start when on the side stand either :\
