Hey guys! Recently I bought myself a little R125, being 16 I can't drive anything bigger just yet. The bike looks the part, but I find myself a little underwhelmed, don't get me wrong it's not what I would call slow, and I know it's only a 15hp 125, but if I'm honest I was hoping for a little more pull and a higher top speed. Are there any modifications you guys would recommend that would give a noticable imporovement? Besides the generic upgrades (new exhaust, big bore kit) I got in contact with a car modification garage near where I live and the best they could do was offer to put nitrous in it, and I don't think I want to mess with that just yet! Another…

Has anyone ever made their own screen? I work for a sign company and have access to all the materials and equipment I think I'd need to make one up. It's for my dragstar 125. Any pointers?

Hello, A couple months ago I acquired a '78 Yamaha DT175E, runs great was just missing a few minor parts like the rear brake light lens and spring for the stand, guy said everything worked including Tach and Speedo but while the Tach does in fact work fine the Speedometer gears turned out to be frozen and caused the little clutch wheel to get rounded off when it was ridden and forced to spin around the frozen gear. I cleaned all the grease out of it and have tried freeing the gears myself but to no avail, so we took the brake assembly in to the guy that runs one of the local bike shops here and he said he managed to free the large drive gear but the smaller driven wor…

Hi guys, I'm doing the fork seals on a friend's scoot and found a nasty surprise after I got one of them out: The fork did leak like hell, (hence doing the seals) and the seal itself doesn't look too bad apart from where it has sat against the horrible mess you see above. Would it be a bad idea to try and get some of the nasty burs off and use some kind of sealent to help it seal better, or am I just wasting my time? I expect it would only continue to leak. If it was my bike I would just replace the sleeve and poke the idiot that made the mess in the first place right in the eye.. christ knows how he's managed that.. but it's …

I just bought a 67 Yamaha YR1 a few days ago. I've been riding it every day and the engine has been running great but starting today the transmission started having some problems getting into gear. I was out on it when these problems started happening to I had to ride home. By the time I was almost home the bike wasn't shifting into fourth or above. The shifter arm will move up from third but nothing is engaging in there. Any ideas of what it could be? I don't have the service manual yet but I've already got one ordered and it should be here next week. I want to start by changing the transmission oil, does anyone know the capacity?

Hello everyone. Once again another YBR is not starting, or should I say the fuel pump is not starting. I put the key in and all the lights come on as normal however I don't hear the fuel pump priming. I have heard how leaving it in the sun can cause problems, however it's not that. I've put it in the shade, chucks many buckets of water on it, left to overnight, charged the battery, checked the fuses and still the fuel pump won't prime. I should also mention that for the last 4 and half months the bike has not once been started as I've been working away at sea for that time. Maybe that might be the cause of my problem. Love to hear some suggestions and help. Th…

Hi I'm completely new to biking after passing my DAS 6 weeks ago after never riding a bike before. I have a 09 xj6 Diversion which i absolutely love and am enjoying getting out and about but was wondering what settings are best on the rear suspension preload, I think the factory setting is 3. What difference does altering it make and what would be the best settings for a pillion passenger. Sorry if this sounds a silly question but if you dont ask as they say Cheers Oscar

Over the past month I have noticed the initial rev take up to be slow. Also experiencing almost a 'choking' effect when I have closed off the throttle to slow down and then open back up again. I have checked the carb settings and the air filter and all seems ok. Anybody have any ideas? Cheers

Hi Guys, recently bought my first bike 2 months ago. £500 1990 RXS 100 and I love it. It's been fantastic for two months, hasn't missed a beat. Until today, a hot, sunny bank holiday monday. I get her started on the first kick. let her warm up on idle as usual. Hit the road taking my usual route towards Brecon and the next thing I know I'm losing power then the revs shoot up and down and then she cuts out. Takes an age to get her started again and doesn't last long at all. Revs are super low even with the choke. Then just dies again. So far i have checked the: Fuel flow is good and the inline filter is new Took off the carb cleaned it up good Air filter is new and th…

Hey everyone, how's it going? I recently picked up a 79 XS400 and had been riding that around. I finally came back to my DT125 for a camping/motorcycle trip this weekend. I'm starting to loose power when you get to about 4-1/2K to 5K rpms after the bike has been running a little and starts to warm up. I say power loss but it almost acts like it's not quite getting the fuel that it needs. Also along with this is that it has a harder time starting up when it warms up and is experiencing this problem. I'm not sure if this could be a vapor lock issue - not very familiar with that. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
