Hi, I have a ixil hyperflow exhaust on my xj6 and I'm looking to remove the baffles, I've tired pulling them out to no avail which leads me to believe I need to drill out some of the rivets towards the end of the exhaust. Before I do so I was hoping someone could confirm this? Here are a couple of pictures of my exhaust so you can see what I'm referring to. Thanks.

i was told this is a headlight visor emblem. three holes, two for mounting and one larger for light so it would glow. was it a option, or aftermarket? does any one know what years and what bikes it was on?

Hi All I rebuilt a 1980 250lc a couple of years ago and have had a couple of thousand trouble free miles. However, recently it has taken to not starting on the kick start. Up until this time it started first kick every time. Now it floods when it doesn't start on the first kick (it has always run a bit rich). Lights and indicators all work, but the neutral and oil light only come on when you kick the starter and the engine is running, not when the ignition is switched on. Is this indicative of the problem? Once running after a lengthy bump start it runs fine. cheers rob

When going down the highway at average 80mph she eventually dies. Wait awhile on the shoulder and she starts. Never hassles when using side roads only highway cruising. So would think fuel not getting to carbs under constant heavy load. Changed fuel filters in case they blocked but suspect fuel cap breather as it hisses big time after a run. Cleaned the cap twice by stripping and using carb cleaner and compressed air but still get hissing noise after a run.

Morning My lack of engineering knowledge strikes again. Bike ticks over fine as is usually okay for pulling away, then as soon as I open the throttle the engine note deepens and it refuses to rev. If I pull the clutch in it winds up again straight away and I can kind of startle it into accelerating but as soon as I change up a gear, it bogs down again. If I hold the throttle open long enough as I slowly get faster, it eventually starts to accelerate and then cuts back in to the end of its rev range as normal. Change up again and its back to square 1. There is no backfire but there is definitely some spluttering as it's trying to increase the revs. Tends to be worse on โ€ฆ

Hi Guys, New to the forum but hopefully somebody can help..!! I've got a 2009 XJ6N and I'm having an intermittent fault with the clocks. I can ride the bike for ages and then all of a sudden I loose the LCD display and tacho. Sometimes it comes straight back on and sometimes it stays off for an undermined amount of time. I've had it before where I've parked the bike up with the clocks working but when I've come to start it the next day (without moving the bike at all) the clocks are off again. When the fault occurs, there is still power being received because I can see an orange back light around the edge of the clocks. Something else to note is that after the clocks comโ€ฆ

Hello all, just a quick one. me and a friend have both completely stripped and rebuilt our entire engine on our xs250's. rebuild has been strict and torqued appropriately whilst ensuring that all parts still turn freely. i dry fitted the crank case at the kickstart side and re assembled the kickstart shaft correctly. and its at this point both of us found that when engaging the kickstart lever we could not get it to turn the engine and feels like its locked. my friend even rebuilt the whole engine again in case he missed something but we are still stuck at this same problem. now i was thinking maybe its because the engine is still dry apart from the lubrication used whโ€ฆ

Hello, I'm new to the boards and am hoping someone can help me. Ive recently bought a YBR125 2011 privately. All the frame numbers check out and the number plate is a match to the model, but I've noticed there isn't a kickstart and the owners manual says there should be. Can anyone share some insight as to why that may be? There doesn't even seem to be a socket for one? Thanks shaun

Hello all I am new to this forum and have a 1978 XS250. The bike is a runner but difficult to start, It spent 6 weeks in a m/c repair shop having the voltage regulator changed and the carbs sonic cleaned along with some other diagnostic work. Eventually I just collected it as they were unable to find the starting fault and suggested new carbs. The bike it seems at some point had 400 barrels and pistons fitted. The carbs are as far as I can tell still 250 original. I have stripped and cleaned them and had the sonic cleaned but still have starting issues. Since collecting the bike I have spent quite a lot of time myself stripping, cleaning and setting up the carbs, also cheโ€ฆ

Hi Guys hope someone can help me. I have a 2013 Yamaha XJ6n and I have been having some trouble for sometime. The bike randomly cuts out when revving (I have change the spark plugs and checked the air filter). The thing is it will ride normally but when I slow down for lets say a red light and then throttle without stopping it it'll cut off. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Appreciate any help given.

Hey, I didn't know where the Vmax fits into the scheme of things, custom, cruiser. Ok I know were not talking sportsbike. Thing is a mate of mine round the corner is constantly buggering about with an old Vmax. To be honest the poor thing makes me cringe when it goes past on one of its many 'test runs'. Throw a 4 sided dice to guess how many cylinders its using. Anybody know how to set the bloody things up, all that v boost stuff. He tries but he doesent like to admit he is wrong so I have to be a bit tactful and he really needs some help or he is going to get rid. Probably with a couple a gallon of 4 star.

  19. Hi Guys I'm looking at lacing a new set of wheels for my 1975 DT 175, I have a couple of spokes left on my 21" front wheel to measure, though if possible I'd like to check other bikes of the same year and wheel size to confirm mine is correct. I currently have a spoke length of 225mm from the spoke end to the spoke bend. 230mm complete length. Many thanks
