    Hi to all yam fans I am doing a full nut and bolt restoration on 79 Dt 175mx and have just got the wheels stainless re spoked . now I need to choose which tyres is it best to keep to origional square block tyes if so what make and type and if not what else . What is other dt restorers using any help would be great.

    hi.. i have a yam dt125x supermoto. 2006.. the powerband has stopped working.. ive checked the valve, and it has not siezed and it is free, so the motorised unit has stopped the opening and closing of the valve. would any of you bikers know how to check the motor... i mean is it on a fuse or a relay.. or is it just duff then.. .... please tom...............

    I'm new to biking and have a ybr 125 custom (2014). Since it came back from having a problem rectified where when I beaked it fried the fuse - I've been having an intermittent problem where I have been riding for a while at varying speeds and have to brake to complete stop. As I try to go down the gears, the gear shift doesn't seem to work and sounds like revs are stuck even though I'm off the throttle! As a newbie it's freaked me out a bit so had to pull to side of road and ler bike stall before I can get gears to drop down and obviously the revs return to normal. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

    hi guys just trying to work out my vin on my 1990 yz250 but the only numbers i can find are not long enough.The number on the neck of the bike is 3SP-001652 but there is nothing else vin related, so i cant find anything about the bike. Does anyone know what it means or how to find out the history of this bike?

    I have a 1995 XJ600S, it runs on the 2 centre cylinders but not the outers. I have swopped the coils around but she won't start. Which makes me think i need to replace one of the coils. Although this won't fixvthe problem as the 2 outers should have fired when i swopped the coils? Would the pick up coil affect only one of the coils? I get the feeling that my problem is a very easy fix. Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Just had to rebuild my rear cylinder and wa wondering what people best choice of oil was, reading lots of stuff about clutch slip using fully synthetic but want to use the best oil possible, what's you're choice people??

    I know quite a bit about bikes but I need some additional minds on this one, working on my buddies bike, it was running fine the night he put it away and the next day wouldn't start so I started diagnosing, I charged the battery, it is a brand new am battery that has been working just fine, the bike is getting spark on the 2 middle cylinders but the only time it gets spark on the two out side ones is randomly as soon as I let go of the the starter button, but not everytime just randomly as soon as I let go of the starter button.     Here's the story . A friend of mine was pootling around on an absolute dog of a Super Tenere . He never checked it for oil . The other day it shit a plank . I was kind of glad because it wasn't the most roadworthy machine I've ever seen by a long long shot . Matey (bit mechanically challenged), said it started making funny noises so he continued on at 70mph until the bike refused to put up with it any more and gave up the ghost .     Hi, so I have to press down very hard on the rear brake to get any sort of bite. Any thoughts on where to start making fixing it? Theres plenty fluid in the reservoir and the pads have enough on them. Bleeding perhaps? Thanks.

    Hi, first of all im useless with the technical names for parts (amateur lol) so excuse me, but I would like some help changing a seal that leads into the gearbox from the gear changer if that makes sense. Ive bought the seal I just need to know how to get the old one out, see pic. Thanks.

    I have a 1979 Yamaha xs1100sf. bout new led blinkers. they will not blink. tried a up to date flasher, and all they do is come on with the blinker switch. the stock ones worked fine, just bulky and big. any suggestions.

    A few days ago i took my yz250 down to a track and after a couple of laps it started to feel boggy and choked up so i came off the track and after 10-15 min i tried to start it again and it wouldn't start ??? i got the bike home and have taken appart the carb blown it out with air and cleaned it checked the spark and thats good and i have tried using a heavy fuel to oil mix to encourage it to start but the most i have got out of it is 30 seconds of boggy running. The only thing which gets hot is the kickstart lol any ideas?

    I havs a failed starter clutch (all three bolts sheared) and have so far got down to removing the stator. Have tried conventional puller, slide hammer, penetrating oil, heat, but not the tiniest movement. Anybody know where I can beg, borrow or loan the correct Yamaha tool which is listed as YM 0180 as perhaps that will move it. Why when it is summer and the weather is nice the bike won't go ??? Got to A21 last week and had to be recovered.

Hi all again, Why do I always get the weird problems? my YBR125 ('09 Carbureted) has developed this clicking sound and slight loss of power (misfiring?) while driving, and only when hitting revs around 6k-7k, in any gear, the rev-meter also goes haywire above those revs (red lining on the meter, but engine sound doesn't match) Now I tried to replicate this while on the stand, back wheel free and bike in gear (tried all gears), it doesn't happen, only when the bike is physically moving and I'm hitting around 6k-7k revs. chain looks fine, I have done cursory inspection.

    My 125 dragstar seems to have some plAstic fins on the top of the heads the first few fins appear to be plastic they appear to bolted to a metal bracket above them do they serve a purpose can I unbolt them from the bracket with out disturbing the head

    I've just come out of the office and noticed the allen bolt from the centre of the chrome air filter cover (xvs125) is missing. Must have come off on the ride in this morning somehow! Is that holding anything vital behind it or am I safe to ride home and then to the nuts and bolts place tomorrow?

  20. hello i have just bought a 1990 yz 250 and it has some markings on it which i dont know what they mean . so just above and to the right of the 246cm3 badge on the barrel it has engraved (from the bottom up) PRO-AM and above that it has the letter G with a clearly engraved spanner then a P, above that it has the number 093 ? and at the very top of the barrel it has 68/68 on it.Also on the rear swingarm on the left side it has the markings M GOODING, maby the rider? all of this coupled with the fact it has OHLIN true track front forks, aftermarket radiators which are so long it has a customised exhaust with a indent in it so the radiator doesn't touch! it all seems rart…
