Hi folks I have a 94' SR125 and think my CDI has died. I have tried various tests to get to this conclusion. The one I have removed is a 94' ignitor unit with code 5HO-MO, with 2x 4 pin connectors Looking on the usual sites for used replacements I can only find the post 96 ones with code 3MW and 1 x 2 pin connector and 1 x 4 pin connector. Has anyone used one of these units as a replacement? I can probably work out the connections with the manual and circuit diagram, but thought I would ask before buying one. Thanks in advance

Hi this is my first post, I would like some advice or help i have a few ideas on what to do but i would like to know what you all think. I bought my tw125 04 model about a year ago now and have ran into a problem changing the front sproket this is my first bike (don't have a car) and i have had no troubles changing brakes, chains, rear sproket, oil and filters but this front sproket is getting on my nerves a bit, because obviously you will know if you own a tw125 the sproket cover you need to take off lets the oil out and i always change the oil rather than top it up so i try to avoid taking the sproket cover off but the first time i did it i got a shock because the sp…

Hi there! Been using this forum for a while to get advice on keeping my YBR up and running, and up until now it's been fine even in the cold etc. After failing an MOT due to exhaust blowing, thought it was time to swap for a new one. Unfortunately after trying for an hour to get the bolts out, they came out but the whole exhaust snapped at the weld, leaving the 10mm spout inside the engine. 2 hours with a dremel grinding disc later, and we were back to a fresh engine, and I bolted the new exhaust on and.. she turns over, but no life. The fuel ignites (exhaust gets hot, can hear the occasionally pop) and if I give it some throttle, the turning over gets noticeab…

In the process of removing head from '99 XJR1300sp for a mate who managed to strip a plug thread. Most of it came apart easy enough but the head is well and truly stuck to the barrels.I've removed the m6 studs at the front but the ones at the back aren't long enough to double up the nuts to lock them.Done the usual tapping with rubber mallet etc but i think any movement is going to disturb the base gasket. Are they usually this bad? i've done CBX1000 and GSX without having to resort to bigger hammers! Any ideas?

Just thought I'd share some part numbers in-case it might help anyone who searches. I'm rebuilding some BS36 carbs off a friend's XJ900 (88) and am working in Spain. Getting any Yamaha parts has proven to be a nightmare but I eventually managed to track down what I needed from a Suzuki main dealer - it took loads of cross referencing and I wasn't sure what would turn up once the dealer got the part numbers in that I'd asked for (not speaking Spanish doesn't help!) however was pleasantly surprised tonight to go and pick up all the bits I was needing. So I got the butterfly shaft seals (8 pieces) - 13651-51010 idle screw O-rings - 13295-29900 A fuel gauze from on …

Hello everyone, thanks for having a gander. Basic,y on my xt125 r I've been without a front brake for weeks and finally my master cylinders arrived. I replaced it and bled the system for well over and hour, still no pressure. So I kept filling the reserve up and with a tube on the bleed nipple I left it open and let gravity do its thing, still no bubbles just a constant flow. Again tried bleeding, no luck. So I wacked the calliper off and removed the pads, pushed the slave cylinder to the back, bled again, I saw that the slave cylinder is moving perfectly as I bleed it, tried it several times and it's simply working. I know how hydraulics work I'm studying engineering …

Pissf*cking shittery! Returning from a long ride today, the draggie breaks down. No transmition to the rear wheel. Gears all work, but letting the clutch out only results in nasty grinding noises coming from either the rear hub, or where the shaft goes into the final drive u-joint thingy. Hard to tell as I broke down on the south circular and it was bloody noisy. I suspect the 4 hour wait for the recovery truck was just the beginning of my woes... Anybody have any tips, (or spare parts)?

Hi guys. I'm new to rebuilding bikes but I have done a few cars, so I have an idea of what I need to do. The bike - the bike is a Yamaha SR125 1983 it has less than 3000 miles on it. Reason for this is because it was only on the road until 1994 where it sat in a garden without a cover until 2 weeks ago. It has been started and run off-road a few times but was treated bad. I know the engine and chasis is solid still. Since picking it up 2 weeks ago she hasn't started, I've tried jumping it and even bumping itbut nothing.its like there is no power to Ny of the electrics. I have no workshop manual or anything so I'm hoping some of you great chaps may be able to help to…

I have one 125 Virago and one 250 Virago. Now this spring when trying to start up I got problems. When I have choke on and no gas the motor start nice and idle fine but as soon as I open trottlel, even Little, motor dies. Same problem for both bikes. The 250 motor has only gone 1200 km and is untouched. The 125 has made 9000 km and I had to take carburator apart as the choke slida was stuck. I have fixed that and put it all together. Will start but do not accept open trottle. Happy for any tips that help me.

Hi all hope someone can help me out here. I need to get a new battery as mine has died completely - can't hold a charge for more than a couple of miles. My problem is is that I need my bike working on Monday morning so have to get a battery tomorrow and cannot find anywhere with the correct battery in stock. Ideally I need 40A and 7Ah, the closest I can find is a 45A / 4Ah. It is my understanding that the Ah is how long it will hold a charge for. If this is right, would it be that big a deal on a '94 SR125 which is used daily and only basic electrics (lights etc) in use?

So I bought myself a 2005 Yamaha TZR50 And as usual it has the speedometer problem , but my problem is a bit different. When i start the bike the speedometer reads 0MPH and after the bike warms up the speedometer says random numbers upto 50MPH eg.8,32,50,42,1,21 When I rev the bike in neutral it increases the speed eg.10,20,30. Any ideas? THANKS.
