Recently just bought a 2002 Yamaha YN50 scooter for a mopen mayem race coming up - It currenly has a 70cc big bore kit, "race" exhaust, upgraded carb/air filter and apparently tuned reed valve..... nae idea about that cos i know nothing about 2 stroke smokers. Having a right problem getting the thing going. hooked up the battery for my fazer to it but scooter has no power whats so ever, or theres a problem with the wiring. Hi - I am having problems removing the clutch cover on my RD350lc. It appears to be because of the water pipe which passes through the crankcase is stuck - both in the hole (there is a slight ridge in the pipe) and in the clutch cover (I presume it is a separate part). I have tried gentle taps with rubber hammer, and a carefully wedged screwdriver without success. Ideas please. Thanks in advance

Ok so here we are as promised in teh 'Introduce yourself' section.. I had the XJ598 running up the road in the last couple weeks for the first time following a basket-case rebuild and was pretty chuffed. but now it simply will not start. I rebuilt the top end with new rings set valve shims etc.. before instaling the motor so I'm reasonably comfortable with those mechanics. I also have the correct TCI for the Radian pick-ups and I'm getting a spark. When I initially tried the motor with XJ600 (BS32) carbs it wouldn't start for love, money or Bradex easy start. I then fitted the 550s BS28s though and all went well - for a while and as said I even manged some forward motio…

Right, more problems, when I rev the bike it seems to die a little, but only sometimes. Occasionally I'll run it and it'll perform perfectly, and other time it will die, fall to maybe 500rpm and then suddenly spring to life and rev perfectly fine. The bike is a 2009 YBR Custom 125 fuel injected, this scares me, I'm fine with carbs, rebuilding a carb and setting it up is easy, but fuel injectors are a totally new things I've never messed with before. Could the dying problem be caused by a dirty fuel injector? And if it is, would fuel injector cleaner work at this point, or is a physical cleaning needed? This is definitely due to it sitting, it's basically not been used sin…

Just wanted to ask what oil you think would be best for a dt125; Semi Synthetic or Fully Synthetic. The actual ones I'm looking at are 'Ipone R2000RS Strawberry' and 'Castrol Power 1 racing'. Cheers

Hope this is the correct place to put in my questions. I am trying to get my mates YBR125 2008 back on the road. Stood in dry garage for about a year so thought it would be an easy fix. Wrong !! Thoughts were to empty fuel tank of old fuel, clean carb out check plug and try to fire up. This bike has fuel injection, engine management and other things that I would not have expected on a little 125 single. Anyway, battery was flat so put on another one. New plug + cap but no spark. ( Plug cap screwed well into clean looking copper core ). Cut out switch on side stand checked and okay. Fuse checked and as many electrical connections as i could see. All were clean and bright. …

I was asked to draw out a wiring loom for a XJ600 (1980's model). There are a couple of versions within one document, one with single pick-ups and one with dual. Its a free down load available from our web site. Scroll down to the Speed shop custom looms heading then click on the link. http://www.rexs-speedshop.com/epages/es143131.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es143131/Categories/Tech_Support

Hi guys. Not long passed my CBT and decided to get myself a lovely YBR-125 custom, brand new. Unfortunately, I ended up coming off on my first ride out on it and smashed up the dash. I've looked at replacing this, but a new part is going to set me back at least £250, and to be honest, the stock dash is the only part about the bike I find unattractive. So, my question is, could someone please tell me what the ratio is for the speedo in order to replace it with a non-stock part and for it to be accurate?
