Hi, Have just bought a DT 125 MX and was wondering if these bikes were ever restricted. Reason being, I need the bike to be 14hp or under for me to be able to ride it. I was told by the seller it was an unrestricted one, I didn't think these bikes were restricted however. Any help would be great! This bike was imported. If the bike is over 14hp, is there any way TO restrict it so I can ride it on the roads? Bike - DT 125 MX 83' Mk 1 2 Stroke Imported from America Thanks All

HI Everyone, I've got a bit of a issue I need a hand with. On Monday morning, I started up my bike with no problems at all but as I was leaving in the evening it didn't want to start up with the engine light just blinking(In no sequence, so doesnt looks like an error code) when I tried to kick it or use the electric start. In the end I just left it and used my car the next day. When I got to work the next day the bike started with absolutely no issues so I tried to drive it home in my lunch but it cut out about 2 miles down the road, with the same problem as the day before. Very frustrating. It did briefly start up when I kicked started it but cut straight out as I revved…

Does anyone know if there is a way of testing the pick up coil and stator coil without removing them? I have 2 '94 SR's, one I'm fixing up and the other I use daily. I can swap out some bits without too much trouble, but when it comes to removing parts like these it is a bit inconvenient as gaskets need to be replaced. My idea was to swap parts one at a time which I knew worked to try and identify the problem but I need one bike working! Thanks in advance.

Saturday morning cold start and it did the same thing. it's like the clutch isn't releasing or gears. my bike guy said the plates are sticking anyone out in yamaha land have any ideas of whats happen…

Hi, My DT 125 MX has a strange problem. The electrics, indicators, horn and brake lights only work when the bike is being revved quite high. This seems like the battery is not charged, or might be knackered. The only thing is, the headlight works whilst at tickover... It gets slightly brighter when revved but unlike the horn and other lights, doesn't die on tickover. Sound like a battery problem or a bigger fault? Thanks in advance

Recently bought an XV 950 after 30 years off the road. A fantastic ride, nice a low for a short arse and ideal through the London traffic. A couple of issues though......It definitely needs the bobber seat, the shocks just aren't up to it, but still bearable. My real issue is the gearbox, really quite clunky and on occasion the gear lever wont budge usually going up from 2nd to 3rd, until I re-apply the clutch. Had the clutch adjusted at first service, but it really hasn't made a great deal of difference. Anyone know if this clunky gear change and sticking lever is a known issue and should I be returning to the dealer to have this sorted, or am I stuck with the noisy gear…

Gents, When I do my weekly commute to Brixham 180 miles pretty hard driving going/returning @ 90/100 MPH for abt 90 minutes. I seem to be having to top up my oil quite regularly last few weeks. And a see 1 drop on the floor coming from within/behind the down pipes after parking up I guess that wile driving that burns off - could that be a connection going to/coming from the oil cooler ? If it came from the top end I'd see a trickle down I guess but I can't. Look forward to hear.

Hello all i have a dt125r which is giving me grief.... lights have died. I have electrics, indicators work, brake lights but no main lights or instruments. I know they work off another circuit and indicators work off battery before anyone shouts... however, I have disconnected battery and fired up with kick start, indicators still work still no lights. I therefore assume that charging circuit is working or I wouldn't have indicators or brake lights. I've tried chasing the cables but it's a night mare..... ... Any suggestions from anyone as to where to look next please thanks in advance

Hi all, I have inherited an FZS600 with no keys or alarm fob. As it came to me free I thought I would have a go seeing if it is a runner. Then I can have a play around with it and turn it into a cafe racer, something I’ve always wanted to do. Mechanically I’m reasonable aware but when it comes to the wiring I have not got much of a clue. I’m in the process of trying to remove a Datatool S4 C1 from the wiring loom. I was told by a mate to just trace the wires back to where they were spliced in and then remove. Filling in anywhere the original cable was cut out, linking the ends of the same cable back up - Such a simple statement!! I may be wrong but I think the alar…

I tried taking my front wheel off this morning and couldn't do it. I took my fork protectors off and then there is a 17mm nut that won't budge. I also tried knocking the spindle through and failed at that. I don't want to damage it using too much force. I've watched some videos on youtube but all the bikes forks are different and theres no videos specific to my WR. This is the diagram https://www.yamahamotorcyclespares.co.uk/genuineparts/19237/26/yamaha wr125x 2013/front wheel?uID=0

Hi All. Its been 3 years or so since I last posted on this site. In June I rear ended a van which spiked the brakes because a woman with 2 kids decided to cross the highway. Lucky for me the bike fishtailed and went under the back bumper at approx. a 30 degree angle. The front and back tires hit the vans back tires. The trailer hitch sheared off the left foot rest and somehow didn't take my left foot off. Luckily I only suffered a badly twisted back and walked away. The bike was not so lucky. The way the bike came down on the pavement it suffered absolutely no damage to the tank, fenders, saddle bags, forks etc. The collision did however bend the frame. To loo…
