Hello I have no idea which way the wires go on the main relay for the dragstar. Has anyone got a picture or knowledge of which way the wires must go onto the relay, It is the 10 pin relay in the battery box of the bike. Any help would be appreciated.

Dont get confused with my other thread regarding the old bike. This is about the one I bought lately and riding at present. Today I stopped at a shop and when starting the motor jst cranked twice without starting...then I cranked again while squeezing clutch and accelerator then the bike sluggishly started reving and as I accelerate slowly started ...... Next after one km I stopped and restarted to see if the prob was ok, then it was gone... I have been using same plugs for almost a year now...could this symptom mean bad plugs? I didnt check them yet.... Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys, My XV125 requires me to choke when starting...this is not a necessity with my other xv125, and was not the case with the subject xv125 earlier.. Once started, I can rev only at high RPM, At low RPM engine gets low and low till it stops.. But when engine goes to stop if I pull the choke it revs up again... There's no air leak at carb joint, am sure about it... As everybody suggested I set Idle screw , doesnt seem to alter the situation.. Am wondering someone , may be at the garaj, someone has toyed with the mixture screw? The reason why I think so is, when engine goes to die at idle irrespective of my acceleration if I pull choke engine rev…

Hey folks, having probs. When i turn off the ignition the clocks stay on even with kill switch off. I guess it's a short somewhere. A code 51 is displayed on the clock, bike won't start, but pull in front brake & the needle swings then will start. Any ideas? Cheers. Sharpy.

Hi everybody. I've got an XVS125 with a well and truly knakered little engine in it. I've scoured everywhere for used ones inluding eBay, breakers, partfinder, gumtree and Japanese importers. Does anyone know anywhere else I should look? Or even better does anyone have an engine or a bike they're willing to break? If anyone can help I'd be eternally grateful as I need to get it back on the road without having to rob a bank. Let me know if you can help. Cheers

Hi All, HELP! I have a 2004 XVS650 and under the advice of a friend decided to adjust the clutch with a clutch adjustment kit. Having done so, I am faced with the following issue: The clutch no longer disengages when the clutch lever is pulled in. Starting the bike in neutral, with the handbrake held down, pulling the clutch lever and then shifting to first the bike immediately lurches and stalls. So, I removed the adjustment kit and brought it back to stock. I have since adjusted the front and rear adjuster nuts into as many combinations as I have had time to do (both extremes, loose and tight, both loose, both tight, in the middle, and so forth) however while t…

Hey guys. I got a Virago 535 last year, but it rained most of the summer in England so i probably only did around 2000 miles on it. Well spring is round the corner this year, and i cant decide. Get a Dragstar 650 Classic this spring, or keep the 535 for another year and fit some straight throughs i bought for it? The only think the 535 lacks is decent luggage space. Its just so small, there isnt much room for saddlebags and i already have a sissy bar and back rest/luggage rack, and all the saddlebag supports ive seen use the same bolt hole as the back rest/rack, so i can only fit one or the other. I like to go on long weekends and tours around the UK, sometimes 2 up, …

Hi guys, looks like my starter kill switch is beginning to pack in. Bike wouldn't start this morning (no cranking and I think no clicking). Came back from work this evening, checked fuses (battery is fully charged). Really pushed the kill switch in hard and it made contact, so bike started. Is this something I can fix with a bit of contact cleaner, or do I have to get a new switch? Which will be hard to find... and probably f***ing expensive...

Hi all, I am changing the oil in my SR for the first time since I took ownership, I have managed to download myself a manual to check the process but the manual is for a 1980, I have checked it against my 1994 and seems the same, Does anyone have any experience with these and have any tips they would like to share ?

Went out for a ride on Sunday to do a little shopping with the wife on the back of my 650 Dragstar Classic. We parked up in Kettering next to another Dragstar, it was a custom, but the wife noticed it had a grab strap at the front of the passenger perch, she then asked why she hadn't got one on my bike, errr don't know replies me.... So, should the classic have one or were they just fitted to customs? If they were fitted to both (I cant really tell if there is a mount for it or not) anyone got any idea where I could get one from? Hey amigos, thinking about powdercoating the rims of my wheels (gloss black natch), as the rust is beginning to eat through the chrome in the odd spot or two on the front wheel. So thought I'd catch the rot early. Thing is I don't know if a normal metalworks will do it, even ones that advertise powdercoating bike wheels, as mine will almost certainly have to be disassembled and rebuilt (I don't want to coat the spokes, just leave them as they are...) Your thoughts? Anybody know of a place that has a good rep for powdercoating and rebuilding wheels around London / Home counties?

Could someone please tell me if the conectors on the wiring harness from the clocks are 6 pin and two pin or 6 pin a 3 pin, mine looks like a use harness and has been chopped to suit uk spec, so need to source the right harness
