Hi Guys, Not a regular on here but would like to make you aware that my much loved Virago 535 which we call "Cream Soda" due to its distinct colour was stolen last week (mid Jan 2017). If you could be on the look out for any parts that might be being offered from my machine this could help to track down the guilty parties who broke into my garage in, what seems like, a targeted attack. She has many unique features and identifiable parts. If you search youtube for 'Stolen UK Yamaha Virago XV535' you should find a video highlighting these. Many thanks for keeping an eye out for me. If you see anything call 101 from UK or Crimestoppers. Being handled by P…

Hello everybody, Not been on here for a while, I am currently building a 1978 xs 250 from scratch into a bobber. I have gone for an 18 inch front wheel and a 16 inch rear. The rear wheel came from a 250 custom model the rear tyre size is 120/90-16 ( standard size ) I am looking for the largest tyre I can get on the rear for that fat look, Does anyone know or has anyone experimented with this size tyre ?? I currently have an 140/90B-16 AVON AV72 77H R RF COBRA on the rear, The wheel will fit on only it is ( standing at the rear of the machine) very close to the swing arm on the R.H.S. and very close to the chain on the L.H.S. Has any one had any experien…

I used to have a 1983 XJ-650 Maxim that I sold a few years ago, and I now dug out my service manual, along with a Haynes repair manual. Remembering how hard it was for me to find it back then, I can only imagine how hard it would be to find it today. Are those bikes still around, is there any interest? Kamen

Hey all. I joined as I'm starting a little project to get my Sister-in-law's 1973 AT3 running as a birthday gift to her. I apologize if what I'm about to ask has been covered in the forums, but I honestly don't even know how to go about searching for an answer... On her bike, there's a small lever just below the clutch lever that connects by cable to something on the engine head. Pulling the lever lifts this connection, but I have NO IDEA what it does. I got a manual and haven't been able to find anything in the manual about it. There seems to be a bit of old oil around this area, though the bike hasn't been started or ridden in a few years. Just wondering if s…

Morning lovers, sorry this will be the last basic question for a while. Well until the next! So the guy I got the 71 bike off never started it! After the rebuild but his mechanic did. He collected bikes but didn't ride the DT. Ive looked on the net and have gotten differing mix ratio's. Everything from 30:1, 40:1 and even 60:1. They mention different oils too. Can anyone give me a definitive mix ratio please. 1971 DT 1 250CC. Thanks S.

l went for the first long ride on the bike now known as ''Yeah Baby'' the other day, 72 mile round trip to have a ice cream. lt performed flawlessly, i can tell you it will do 86mph carrying 190lbs in certain conditions. Those being , neutral wind, very slight down hill, long run, lie flat on tank, legs directly off the back, holding left fork with left hand...................................Plod would not have been happy, especially since all the local ones are younger than me
