    has anyone had trouble with your yds3c not wanting to idle with the headlight on and it's worst with it on high beam? then while i was checking it from headlight to no headlight(which works fine), i notice that sometimes the tach would stop working.

    Hi All I'm just about after completing a full resto of my Dads Yamaha yl 100 twin . When I went to fire it up only one of the plugs was sparking, I've swapped plugs leads and the coils that are underneath the tank but the problem is down at the generator/points etc . I swapped the small condenser and the points around down below but there's still no spark . After doing all this trouble shooting I noticed a wire like lead in behind the points plate that's attached to a spring like part in behind the plate and it's not attached to anything ? I'm guessing this could be the problem but I have no experience on this matter and would welcome any advice . I removed all the straig…

    Hi, anyone know where I can get new swingarm bushes,spacers, endcaps & bolt for my dt125lc mk1 had to cut mine out with a grinder & only part salvageble is 1 nylon bush. Do the later dt,s share the same bushes?

    Just been offered a DT175 bottom end that has been in someones shed for years (&years). The crankcase with the engine numbers is missing so cant confirm its the same model as mine. Where the engines basically the same/ interchangeable? Mine is a 2k4 an the bloke selling it has said he was definitely a square swing arm model - like mine

    So, i was given this last year It's a DT175MX 1979 single shock it had sat in a garden for about 8 years (I reckon longer) on its side, flywheel up (without that side of the casing on) uncovered an unloved The bloke who gave me it said he bought it with his paper round money an was genuinely gutted to see it go - cant see why Anyways, as soon as i got it home took the engine out an left it as that fast forward to tonight an thought I would attack it After fighting with rusted rounded off screws, I managed to get the clutch side cover off 8O :cry: I reckon it will need new clutch plates......

    Hey guys, I am brand new to this forum. I have a problem with my 1980 Yamaha TT250 dirt bike. My plastic gas tank completly rotted from the inside out and gas is coming out of the side of the tank. I have such a problem finding a gas tank for the bike, because of the mono-shock. No one even makes a new tank for this bike. I was wondering if anyone knew if any other tanks fit my bike?? It's such a shame because the bike looks great and runs great aside from the tank being rotted out. Thanks for the help guys, Vic

    Hi folks. New to the club. I have bought a classic Yamaha LS2. It is white and red, which means it was sold here in europa. I am trying to get parts for it, but that is not so easy. Does anybody in this forum have knowledge about this models? I would really like to know the colour codes for the red and white. Anyone?

    Hi all, I just picked up this 1972 LS2 for free from a friend in return for helping clean his barn. Hadn't been registered since 1975. It's not perfect by a long ways but it cleaned up pretty nice. I rebuild the carbs, new plugs etc and it is actually running pretty well. I don't really know what to expect. I do notice that the right side runs considerably stronger than the left. When I make mix or idle adjustments to the right side they are immediately apparent. The left seems quite a bit weaker and those same adjustments don't really seem to have any effect. The manual is a little sparse on recommendation. I'd be open to anyone's ideas. Thanks in advance!     hi i have just aquired a v75 in ok condition. its only done 1900 miles from new.. my question is.. is there any info on de restricting it anywhere as i have looked and cant find any.. im thinking cdi or bigger card maybe expansion chamber exhaust.. any help is much appreciated thanks

    hi everyone, have already said hello in the newbie section but just thought I would post here. just bought a usa dt 175 c that I plan to strip and rebuild , had a few mx's in the past and love my Yamaha endure/trial bikes. There seems to be a wealth of knowledge on here and please forgive me if I asked some stupid questions but will try and use the search button first cheers

  12. Hi, I recently had this bike worked on to get it running, seemed to be running ok, took it to a ranch and rode it about 10 mins then it started cutting out and finally wouldn't restart. I tried hooking it up to another battery and it started so had the battery recharged, when restarting with charged battery I tried the electric start (normally I kick start) and a mix of what seems to be oil and gas came out of the front pipe or crankcase (can't tell which) and bike won't start. Knowing that gas in crankcase is bad but not knowing if it is really gas or more oil, and because the bike was running recently, can't figure what has triggered this leak when starting, any idea…

    Good Morning, I am going to try to put together this little DT125 for my son to ride around and I am going to need some help. The bike is missing quite a bit of its electrical parts so I have to piece it together. I only have 3 wires coming out of the case but I am not sure which is which. There is no battery box, but I am guessing a battery is not necessary (unlike my Honda350). I do have a coil but that is it. So as it sits I have the stator plate with 3 wires and a coil. Nothing else. If anyone has a simple picture of how it is supposed to be set up that would be helpful. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! Jason

    I recently purchased a 1971 90cc HT1-b enduro. It's pretty complete exept for several little parts such as the ignition, tail light, clutch foot rest. Parts are available but not so abundant. I do need a new seat and seat pan- it's all rotted out. Any advice as to where this would be available? I have not seen any on eBay. Would there be any other models that would fit this bike? Are there any parts from other models that would fit this bike? I'm a beginner and just trying to learn- (pretty unusual for a girl in her 20s, but I'm interested.)     hi have an 80 xt 250 3y3 and it has just failed on excessive play at bottom shock (where it meets the swingarm) i am worried that this is incorrect as it is just a shaft with cotter pin that threads through the holes in swingarm..? bushings and shock eye bushings are sound am worried even if i replace swingarm it will still be the same if designed that way? (and could not shift the shaft for all the heaving in the world) if anyone has a chance to rock the swing arm on their xt and see if there is any movement at bottom of shock it would solve a big mystery for me many thanks and erm..hello there JJ

  20. Hello everyone. First post here. Great forum. I built a 1974 DT175 for the wife. Lots of piston slap so I took Topend off and was bad. I've got an old 1971 CT175 I was going to restore with brand new top end. So I mounted it on the DT. Only custom I had to do was add 1/2" spacer to carb and cylinder. It ran before but not now. Sucks! I cleaned carb out so good you could eat off it. But I can't even get gas to the carb. Just small amount that's left in fuel filter. I've got spark. Don't know what to do. Can't redo the DT Topend right now. Too much $. Am I wasting my time trying to Frankenstein this? Also, what's with the different carb? I know '74 has reeds and '71 piston …
