hi i have got my yamaha v75 all working, only problem seems to be that it accelerates well but then when revs are high it just doesnt change gear. after a while it seems to change gear... the revs lower and the bike starts to accelerate again. any ideas if this is normal or can i adjust when it changes gear? its got a funny lever for high and low and neutral

Can anyone help I have an xs 250 project under way and I want to know will a Dunlop 4.00-18 tyre fit onto the front wheel ?? I currently have an Avon Road Rider 100/90-18 on the front the wheel is a 1.85-18, I have been told that a 4.00-18 you cannot get un yet I have seen a few bikes with these sizes tyres on with the same wheels, I think the guy in the garage where I purchased the Avon from just wanted the sale and doesn't know the meaning of customer service, I was charged £90 for the Avon and since seen it on line a lot, lot cheaper, The tyre I am thinking of is a Dunlop 4.00-18 does anyone know if this will fit ????

Hello friends, anyone have any experience rebuilding one of these bottom ends? basically just wondering if ill need any special tools, anything rare? any pitfalls? or things to know? also, anyone know the size of the seals and bearings- or where to get them? i tried emailing HVCC and they never responded. I picked this bike up yesterday and its a bit rough, but restorable. I would like to know if there a onestop shop for these bikes? Ive bookmarked all I can on ebay and stores in the US for the bits missing or need replacing. The only numbers I can make out on the engine so far are: L1-????? what year model is this or how do I find it please? cheers.

I thought maybe one or two guys maybe interested in this im building, well rather than building a SR500 based cafe racer it felt right to build something trail bike orientated, but what. HL500 or Baja racer then this came to mind, the 1979 / 1980 Sonauto Paris Dakar bike. So this is how far i have got up to now, i have fitted YZ forks, Bilstein shocks made bar risers and had a tank made, i have tried to get it right as possible even down to the decals and the rear Preston Petty rear mudguard, im loving the making of brackets and fabricating plates. hello if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction I would be appreciative , I have a yam dt 125 mk 1 10 v engine , engine is running never beem rode the bike that , bike has been put together from frame upwards engine never been rebuilt or crank cases opened, chain is not connected yet, the engine runs and now and again will go into different gears on its own after freewheeling in neautral while ticking over , is this normal ? also the clutch actuating lever can be removed upward and outward if I wish should that be able to do that ? so i have a 82 maxim dohc only mods uni foam filters. Since i have owned the bike it will not rev over 6k it just sits at 6k it misses and stumbles and bucks. Once i ride around for awhile at 6k it stumbles and bucks and surges and all of a sudden it takes off all the way to redline shift into next gear and it goes all the way to redline. In other words when its hot she runs perfect except for it does drop in rpm at cruise every once and while like a dead miss thats car language but i think it translates over to this. Ok i have cleaned carbs multiple times with cleaner and compressed air then after that and no change i had my friend who has a ultrasonic cleaner clean …

Have a dragstar xvs 400 (1996). Planning to replace by wires. I thought it was simple plug and play but didn't do it yet to get advise. Can you unscrew the ht wire from the coil? Or is it permanently fixed? Can you please share steps how to do it and the specs of aftermarket replacement HT wires. Thanks.

Hello everyone! After quite some time I have just been re-bitten by the bug to start working on my bike again. She is a 1969 L2G which is a 100cc 2-stroke single (very similar to the YL2 street model). I've had a search on this forum for this particular model but haven't had much luck finding any information. I purchased this bike 2 years ago from a guy that had just started to restore it, but lost interest (he was a mazda rotary enthusiast). The bike was a barn find and was really rough when I got it. I have to bore out my cylinders and I'm having trouble figuring out what the STD size is for the cylinders! My current piston tops show 6 82 Its odd because they typical go 6 25 or 6 50 or 6 75 if there Over sized by .25 .50 .75 I want to go .50 OS BUT idk if they're already .82 OS but that makes no sense to me and to get a custom made piston and rings would be way to much for this lil bike so i doubt anyone did that. Any help mates?

Hi yall, I Bought a 74 Dt 125 A from a buddy a few years ago. He sold it to me cheap since it didnt run. The problem with it was he ran the bike without a condensor and it destroyed the points. Over the last few years I have been trying to get a new set of points but as it turns out the old points were updated to a differant set. I can get the newer set but cant figure out how to mount them since they are quite a bit differant. My question is will the new set work and if so how do I mount them and set the timing and gap?
