    Hi I have a yz80 with a problem that iv tyred every thing to fix just dnt seem work right when she starts rev in nutral it revs and sound fine soon as you put it in gear revs drop and it's really sluggish to pull of put on full and just starts to bog for a sec then it comes to life and front ends up can eny o e tell me y it's like that when you pull off if you keep revs up high it's like a rocket but if you dnt it's really sluggish

    hi there guys im wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what to do my bike has an annoying rattling noise which seems to be coming from the top end. it had a +1.0mm rebore just under a year ago by a previous owner and was fitted with a wossner piston, which has always slapped from cold. i have taken the head off and attempted to measure the bore and got 56.97mm as my biggest reading but im guessing it is 57mm, bore looks nice and clean. but i had no feeler gauges to hand at the time. bike starts first kick every time without fail and pulls well through all gears anyway back to the noise. on start up the piston slaps is the prominent noise from the engine, ho…

    Everyone I have battled and battle and battled with my 78 dt 175 and I cannot figure it out. The bike starts easy however this is all it does the idle sounds terrible and won't take any throttle at all it just makes the bike die. Here are my thought : the idle I currently have the wrong piolet jet in the carb because I just found out after a year of having the bike,bit has a 79 carb on it and when I got a new piolet jet I got one for a 78 that part is on the way. Bike not taking throttle: so after realizing the carb deal I realized I was missing a rubber o ring the seals the main jet... Ordered yamaha ones not here yet but I had a o ring that seems to fit... Didn't change…

  5. Since i have rebuilt engine I have to ride everywhere with my choke open (up) soon as i take the choke off it revs up slightley then bogs down wen I open the throttle a bit n then just dies! Any advice as I don't no what screws I need to me ajusting on the carb. Cheers matt.

    Hi all, my DT engine is a bit sick. She has finally called time and demanded some serious attention. She had an overhaul of the running gear about 10 years ago but the motor was ok and as one of the ain't broke brigade, i left well alone.... Point is i've established that the crank seals have gone so am pulling the motor down, i've started from the off taking pictures so i am going to try and do it as a long thread and try and scare away some of the fantasies over whats inside these motors and that its relatively simple to tackle the big jobs.   9. Hey guys just baught myself a little project. It looked like a classic dt50 but when i checked out the chassis number it came up as a 1977 ty50m. The strange thing is the chassis has a mount for a monoshock and not rear twin shocks. could anyone shed some light on weather they made a single shock version at any point? Thanks in advance guys

    Hi guys ive just brought a 1991 dt125 ive started to strip it down and seen there wasn't a traditional power valve no cables or servo ive been looking into it and seen some came without a servo and just have a fixed valve but when i came to take it off its missing lots of parts and is just spinning around cant seem to find any diagrams or parts for the model without a servo so am kinda stuck with what to do keep trying to find the parts i need to fix it in place or convert it so its got a servo type but not sure what i would need to do any advise on this subject would be much appreciated thanks Luke.

    When the ignition is turned on no lights come on anymore and you can't here the power valve, Also recently it starts fine but smokes a lot ! When revved and the glass to check the engine oil the oil is a red but is frofy Also from the overflow pipe there is red oil poring out, not sure if it's 2 Stoke oil or engine oil ? But after a couple of seconds black oil comes out and mixes so I'm not sure what oil it is Can anyone please help me ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hi all, I believe my power valve is in need of a clean however I lack the know how to do it myself and also the money to have it done immediately, Does anyone have experience of freeing up and cleaning them via the exhaust port??? I'm think a rag and some carb cleaner or wd40 will be a poor man's quick fix? Any input appreciated lads

    Hi guys. I've got a 1988 dtr, missing a few bits and one of the bits that has been removed is the power valve servo and control unit. Basically the powervalve is pinned open. I know a guy selling a bike really cheap, a 1999/2000 model dtr. How much stuff off of his bike will fit mine?

    Hello does any one know the white colour code or paint name for my dt250mx 1980? UK, white with red/blue stripe tank. there should be a gray colour code sticker on the frame next to vin, but my one went a long time ago!!! I have had it many years from 82 and want to do my now second referb, the first was in 94'ish. I want to send the tank off for referbing, but I have never know what white paint to use. i think is ford diamond white at the mo!! Had a good search on the net and could not find anything specific, pure white or peal white maybe!!! thanks for looking paul

  16. hey guys I am looking for a carb intake boot (for a reed valve) yamaha dt175 reed cage that has a 40mm carb flange (want to put a 34mm mikuni on) anyone know if the RD350 reed block is the same size as the 175? I dont imagine it is but I know the 350 uses 34mm carbs

    Hello chaps Question regarding different piston types. My bike is a 1980 DT175 (G) I got my hands on two different Wossner forged pistons: 1. The first for a DT175 82-10; 2. The second for a 175MX Thru '77, '79-81 (also listed at CT-2). The first piston is clearly wrong for my bike as it seems to be a few mm longer and will likely hit the head. The 2nd, supposedly correct piston (based on what the supplier said), has the correct dimensions however the ports are round rather than square like the piston that came out my DT. Any ideas if the round port holes on the piston will be a problem? Thanks!

  19. Well it seems I've encountered another problem with the dt. I was riding home from work and as I turned down my lane the throttle suddenly didn't feel as responsive. My cable is a bit sticky atm so I thought it could be snapping but then the bike cut out completely and refused to start by kicking or bumping. As I was riding home I noticed that the bike wasn't idling and I had to keep revving when i stopped to keep it running. I walked it home and after about half hour I tried kicking it over again to no avail, and after about 6-7 kicks it made a fairly loud bang and started to smell like a firework!
