Basically had a look underneath the engine today and found a little hole in my engine casing, I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be a little hole there, if someone could help me would be great, on any advice etc as the only thing I can think of is some sort of drainage system

Could it get anymore complicated ? So the fuse blowing looks to be that the ignition switch powers the lights (using the battery ) when in the no3 position ( off, on, on with lights and park) so is this right? All the wiring diagrams I have seem to show one of the mag wires ( yellow) powers the lights! now I know you can't post links to stuff but my Haynes shows it different to one I've found on the web and different to my ig switch.Ive belled it through and there is a spare red/yellow wire from the on/off - high/low handlebar switch which I think at one time maybe powered the lights! So, I think I might disconnect the out blue/red out feed from the ig switch and use th…

At first i would like to say hello to all Yamaha riders Im Sakari from Estonia. But now to the point, i bought a DT125R (1999) 3MB00 to ride in the town, well my KTM 250 is not for that . The bike is in good condition done 20 000km, starts every time even in cold, best thing is i got it cheap, for 650 euros. To test it i took it on the highway powerd up and damn a restrictor kicked in at 90 kmh. So did my Googleing and got here and read the topic by Airhead (nice work ), that took me to a conclusion its the reed switch that restricts. I did everything like it was sayd in the topic (for the reed switch), took my bike for a ride and the hell, the restrictor was at 50 kmh…

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help with the problem of which CDI I need for my bike. Unfortunately the bike is a non runner and came without one, and as I gather there are more than one type, I thought I had better check before I splash out. My engine is 1979 but the magneto has only 5 wires coming from it, and only one source coil (contrary to what the parts book says I should have) which makes wonder if I have a magneto from a different year, I don't know if this will be a problem or whether I just need to match the CDI to it. Does anyone know anything about this. Any help is appreciated. Regards,

Me again ! Tightened the clutch centre nut and it locks to the outer ! Brilliant ! ( I've bought a pup springs to mind !) I've not sat down and worked out the mechanics of it as there is a shim behind the clutch outer and one between which the Haynes manual agrees with. But, they're both 3mm thick and wonder if the twat I bought it off swopped bits? ( it came with spare engines but clutches removed !) so, any way off checking the correct thickness? I'll scan the web later but I thought I'd just throw it out there and hope, Dave

Hello I am an 18 year and just bought my first bike about 8 months ago. I own a 1986 XT350 and I am recently having carburetor issues. One of my gaskets are leaking slightly and I want to rebuild it with new gaskets and pieces from a carb kit. Does anyone know if a carb kit exists for the 1986 YDIS carb and if so where can I find it?

Hi everyone. I've just become the proud owner of my first TT250. Only problem I have is that the plastic fuel tank has gone a tad yellow from its white and it bugs me. Does anyone know if an XT250 tank would be a straight swap being virtually the same bike. Happy to buy one from a member but want to be assured it'll fit ok. Thanks in advance Dave Boorer

Hi fellas . Does anybody perhaps know where I can get my hands on a service manual for a 1983 XT250T , model 38M ? It seems to be a very scarce commodity. It's the first model that had the MONO SHOCK rear suspension I think , and it also had the air intakes on the front of the tank .

Well here we go again you say ! I hope there's a fix for this cos it's doing my head in ! ive done some trawling of posts on here and discovered a problem I didn't know I had, mines a 1980 model,2k4 engine, air filter on the right as you sit, and I believe it should have the 2H500 carb on it, mine has the 3U500 on (160 main ) but, I believe because the air filter I have is more restrictive it'll run rich! It didn't have a filter fitted so I assumed it needed one ( I'm guessing it was run without!) ps. Not used it yet. So, I don't want to source the correct carb cos ( I hope ) this one will maybe go quicker as the other is only a 130 main ! What do you say ? I kn…

Hello, i have a question about the piston on the dt 125r, its a 1999 model and engine is marked 3MB00 it has a +1.25 piston in it and its worn out. I did search the web and could not find pistons of +1.25 anywhere except the expensive wössner and other, but i found a lot of pistons marked 3RME for dt 125r 1999 at a decent price, so what is the difference ?

Mine doesn't have one and before I put it on the road I need to fit one, but there seems to be two choices! There is a rubber one, or a nylon one which looks more robust ( obviously ) which is it please and where from ? ps. I've just found a picture of a nylon one with what looks like a rubber sleeve! Is that why eBay shows two types ?

I'm getting some led indicators in a couple of days so I wanted to know which of these is the flasher relay. They have the same part number so I'm not sure. EDIT* Just realised it's the one with the lettering on.

Ik had naar de automatische nokken as ketting bijsteller gekeken en die was in orde, maar het rattelen is er nog; er staat 70.000 km op de teller. Heeft iemand ervaring met de handmatige nokken as ketting bijsteller voor de TDM850? (I have checked the factory fitted automatic Cam Chain tensioner and the rattle noise is still present; my bike has 70K km on the clock. Has anyone tried the manual cam chain tensioner on the TDM850?)
