Hello, I got a DT125E 2 weeks ago I am trying to fix up to screw around with up north. I have put the carb back together with a 150 main and stock pilot and I am running a 4" pod filter. The bike does have spark with a replacement NGK B8ES and I compression tested it at 115psi (need verification on good or bad) and it will not start. Any suggestions? Choke was pulled and I have the air screw 1.5 turns out. Sorry I accedentially typed 1987 when it is a 1978.

Been busy for the last 12 months sorting out a few bikes including another TT500, its taken some time and effort and apart from one or two very minor bits to do its neally ready for registering, i started of with a rolling chassis but had accumilated parts over a year or so.Home made wiring harness with full working lights and horn, home made speedo bracket and cable guides made from stainless welding wire. Oh and this is how i bought it. On another point my lad bought this a few weeks ago, put some time and effort into it as well as £400 and now its ready for mot, engine sound great which is a good thing. Other thing…

have an 02 dt125r, nothing wrong with it accept the front fork oil is probably still the same stuff from new so thought i would have front and back suspension serviced, is it possible that i could have seen on this or another website that its quite common to put 10 weight oil in the front forks and have an airgap off 100m/m so as to stiffen the front slightly, not bothered about going offroad as its just something to potter around on during the summer. Also can the rear shock be serviced or is it a waste of time ?

Also the monoshock pivot pin ( the one with the split pin ). There is a kit for the swing arm available a Yambits, has anyone used it ? Can't see the the pivot pin on Yambits. Do Yamaha still stock these parts ? Andy

I have a Yamaha XT350 1997. Ive been trying to figure out the best way to stop the bike for a easier start next time. So if you just parked the bike and its still running, do you turn the fuel off to drain some of it to prevent flooding it easily next time? Does it matter if you dont turn off the fuel? Ive seen people mention that you need to rock the bike to move the piston to the very top for quicker starts. All in all I want to know if there is a recipe to make it easy, ot do you just need a stronger leg? Thanks in advance for the advice

Hello Chaps So I decided to try and figure out what model my DT is... but I'm not winning. Its registered as a 1980 and was originally imported from South Africa. It's mono shock and has round swingarms (not box). Chasis code starts with 4L9-XXX. Apparently the 4L9 code is not listed anywhere on the internet (thanks google). Any ideas about where to look next? I just want to confirm if it is an E, F, G etc. and the actual year of production. Cheers!

My 2003 DTR has an aftermarket exhaust system, bigger main jet, the reed switch is removed and the inlet manifold restictor cut out. So it is definitely derestricted and it flies through 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th but when I change to 5th it stops pulling Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am just all out of ideas.

Hello everyone I am new to these forums. I have a 1993 Yamaha Banshee and did have a 2003 Raptor 80 when I was younger, it recently got sold. My father has a torn apart dirt bike in the shed in my backyard and I decided to look at it. He said if I wanted to give it a shot to try to get it working I can. He has taken apart the intake and some electrical components (I think its the CDI). I found all the parts and everything is good but just one problem... I don't know the damn model! these are the best photos I can get tonight but I will get some tomorrow. From what I saw it looks like a 2 stroke judging the pipe. I just don't want to start it with regular gas and find out …

Hello everyone i am just wondering if anyone has any knowlage about my bike and could help me. I recently bought this bike for very cheap and I found out after a couple days of riding, that when I am riding my bike will rev up really high, even if i let go of the throttle it will stay like this, until i use the back brake to force it back down. I think it might have something to do with the trottle cable, maybe its not sitting back down after i let go of it. Does anyone have any ideas of what this could be and how i could fix it, ask me questions if you need more information. Thanks, Jeff

I'm a fair way into the restoration of a '76 GT80, when I brought it it had been stripped down to a dirt bike and had had all of the electrics removed. I'm trying to put it back on the road and the only thing I'm struggling with now is a wiring harness (loom). I've seen various looms for sale in the U.S but they're all from '79 - '81 models, as they're liable to be quite expensive by the time they've landed in the UK I don't really want to chance buying the wrong one so was wondering if anyone can tell me if they're the same across all models. I have a service manual that covers the years '73 - '82 and it only has one wiring digram/schematic so I'm assuming they …

  16. I have taken cylinder and piston off to rebored but i have noticed my clutch has become very loose, is this due to the barrel being off and no compression? Or have I got issues with clutch as it was fine before I took the barrel off. Thanks [emoji2]

Hi guys , my 1st post so here goes ; I love my dt125x its great but ive never ridden it through the winter before, there will be lots of rain, ice and probably snow at some point.. Ive looked into converting it into a dt125r but it seems impossible as forks are different and swing arm is smalller, so ill have to keep it sm So my question is, are there any enduro/supermoto sized tyres out there ? Or any wheels that are enduro that fit the dt125x? My front tyre is 120/70-17 Rear tyre is 140/70-17 Any help on how to stay shiney side up this winter would be greatly appreciated, thanks
