Hi, does anybody know of anywhere that either does a tail tidy for the XT or one that i could 'modify' easily to fit it with a good finish? Also, if possible i would prefer to keep the flexi indicators. Cheers

Hi, as a newbie hi, I have a small issue stupidly..... I bought a WRF and ran the vin checks first and it comes back fine, but it's supposed to be a WRF 450 registered on the road it's got the Battrey starter on the engine etc however it's been of the road for some time and the previous owner bought it without the V5 and pretty much used it on a track the frame number is CJ050-004815* however I can't find anything on this apart from it was made in Africa i I can't find the engine number ? I I have no registration number I want to put this back on the road but the frame number is too short as far as I am know I got the frame number from the head stock would I be right…

hi guys, my friend has just recently bought an 03 model dt and were both a bit confused with getting it to run properly. the day he got it he rode 25miles home, once home he realised the boost bottle on the side of the airbox wasnt even connected. after reconnecting it i cant get it to idle well, the mixture screw is all the way in and it kind of idles but every now and again the revs build up to around 5k and stay there until you blip the throttle again. the main jet is 240 and i now stock is 210, it has a dep pipe but is it possible for the jet to be too big? i can get it to run and idle fine with the choke on but cant do anything with it off. i recommended that he sh…

hey guys bought a 1990 yz80 right before winter thinking of it as a project over the winter and for $250 it was the right price. got it home cleaned the carb as i was told by the owner it had been sitting for about 2 months drained what little gas was in it removed the broken fuel petcock and replaced it with one i bought on ebay. got it all back together and it fired right up first kick let it warm up nicely and went to go it was really choppy in the midrange but once it hit the power band it ran great. but the problem is since then it wont kickstart but will roll start just did a compression test and it came out at 123 psi. have checked over all electrical connections a…

I'm sure you'll all had this problem so here goes, I've ground / wire brushed the old rust the best I can but can I treat them with kurust or something ? I can't risk the inner tube sticking to paint so wondered if there's an accepted method, Dave

Hello all. After a long struggle to get my DT back together, I am stuck on the wiring. So far I have everything in place but am unsure of how everything hooks back up. While I originally wanted all electrical working, I am at the point of just wanting it hooked up enough for spark. I do have a wiring diagram but it looks totally confusing to me. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the very minimum I need working for spark. I figure if I can get it running, I can go back later and work out all the other details. Thanks!

Im looking for either a fix for none working speedo and/or a good aftermarket replacement. My main issue though is the bike wont tick over, well sometimes it does, the timing seems to be all over the place. Ive tried adjusting what i believe to be the idle mixture screw and have sprayed carb cleaner ibto it but still no dice. Sometimes after a run its fine, other times it has to be revved to fuck to keep it going. Any advice?

What voltage should I expect to go back to my battery? Put a new one in and after hooking it up it worked ok. But when I went to go for a ride the red and black wires to the battery melted. I ran a multi meter on the red wire to the battery and on idle it showed around 5v when i gave it some revs it went up to 11v. Not worked on 6v bikes before so not sure what to expect. Wondering if i just had a defective battery or I cooked it with the bikes current reg/rectifier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi All, I've been slowly working on a 1980 DT175 and finally got it up and running a few weeks ago. It is an absolute blast to ride. I took it completely down to the frame the other day to clean 30 years worth of oil, mud and god knows what else off of it. As I was putting it back together last night, I noticed one of the tabs on the rectifier felt really loose. Low and behold, when I slid the wire on the tab snapped right off. I know I can get a new OEM unit from eBay or the local dealership, but my question is can I get a cheap replacement piece from Radio shack or somewhere similar? I understand what the rectifier does, and it's needed to convert AC to DC power…

Before I had my 2007 dt125x, I had a 2000 dt125r and I remember that it used to love to rev and that it redlined at 10.5k and went to 12k. I have recently fitted a tachometer to my dt125x as it doesn't come with one and I noticed that when I'm riding, it doesn't want to rev past 8000rpm. I know the tacho is accurate because it reads 1.5k when idling. When I reach 8000rpm, the bike is screaming. It was derestricted behind the speedo when I got it but I earthed the green/black cable to a different place on the frame to make sure, it made no difference. I'm assuming that the x and re models redline at 10.5 as well. Also, the bike runs fine, it pulls pretty well up to 50mph b…

Hello all bought my bike a few days ago and needs a good clean up but need to know some things first.... What cdi do i need i brought one of ebay didnt seem to start checked for spark and it did bright blue big spark! But noticed when i pulled plug out covered in fuel! I then noticed fuel leaking from carb i think the float was sticking so could this cause it to flood? Anyway it did start for a split second so does this mean i have the right cdi? It would not start at all after this!! 6 wire cdi btw but previous owner made into enduro so not all wires need to be connected also could someone tell me what wires to what colour wise?

This weekend doing fork seals, dust covers and cleaning all the fork internals(yep know there's not a lot inside them), am going to use 15w oil instead of standard 10w oil, normally the forks take 495ml of oil si due to the new oil being a bit thicker I was thinking that I would put about 450ml, does this sound about right or should I go more or less than 450ml ?
