    Hi ya, thanks for reading my post. I have a xj6s 2011 model Yamaha and done approx. 8200 mile now and noticed even more than usual on start up even the next day that it sounds like a bag of spanners for a few seconds in which I don't think this sound right? it has new oil and filter and I think it may be because the oil is not staying at the top of the engine after use so their for causes this to rattle as it does. once warm after a few sounds its fine but just concerned about this little problem I have.any ideas please?

    When going thru the gears, the neutral light starts flashing in most gears. It does look normal when in neutral. Could this be a short or faulty switch?

    This will probably come across as a daft question however with my YBR being a french import the front headlamp is of course french and set to their standard. I was looking into ways of deflecting the beam and was just wondering if any kind of tape would do the job for now? such as brown/black/silver tape or if there is any of those deflector strips designed for motorbike headlamps as I know there is for cars. I've had to go ahead and do a makeshift job just now with solid waterproof scotch tape topped with some solid brown tape and just wanted to be sure it'd do the job hence the question here.

  4. I have a 1985 Yamaha Virago 700 I went to leave my friends house today, and while downshifting the cable broke off at the clutch lever. It appears to be held on not by a screw, but by a metal retaining piece cast onto the end of the cable. Would i be able to pull through enough slack, and somehow make it work. I have been unemployed for the past 3 months so i dont have any $$ to buy a new one.. If that dont work, i have one other option I joined this forrum to ask a question for my friend on his first bike.. 81 Maxim 550 Well, he was in his first wreck a week ago.     hi all i have a large nail in my rear tyre which caused a flat which nearly threw me off mid bend this morning, my local tyre repair guy said he will fix it if i take the wheel to him, it looks pretty straight forward to remove the wheel. what i need to know, are there any settings i need to take note off ? how much chain movement do i need ? any help would be greatly appreciated nigel

  7. Hi everyone, well the boy passed his CBT so My R1 is maybe not as safe in the long term as Id hoped ,,. Seriosuly glad he got it .. So the problem we have is that if the bike ignition key is turned just on, the indicators work perfect , flash rate is good ,all round . However, start the bike and put the indicators on, then that where it all goes to rats .. They hesitate for 15-20 seconds before they come on the flash rate is erratic and then they only do 3-4 cycles and then stay off ... So when the engine running there is a problem .     Hello all, I'm a budding motorcycle enthusiast at only 17, haha. I'm looking to buy the great DTR 125 as I've done my CBT and I've heard nothing but glowing reviews from them! However, being a young guy looks on a bike is slightly important, this bike will be used to learn a lot from and shall be used off road regularly. The 2004 model of the DTR is the most eye-catching for me personally, however I have read they only have an electric start and are difficult to de-restrict, which I hope to get done.     gi I have my Yamaha yb 100 and runs mint with choke up and does about 40mph but when I take the choke of it just bogs down and dies any ideas what this could be many thanks

    Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a stainless steel alternative for the YBR125 Custom exhaust. I have had two exhausts corrode and fall off in the last 2 years (although the 2nd one was used) i ride all year round and i do know corrosion and rust is an issue with these exhausts. I can see loads of options for the standard YBR125 but not the custom? if anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated =)

    Hello I need help, I have a 1996 Lanza DT 230 that sat for about a year and a half. Now the speedometer doesn't work. There is power to the display but it just says 0. I know rats ate the wire to my kill switch and the oil line from the pump to the carbuerator and I suspect they ate something related to the speedometer but I don't know where to look. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks!

    I am using SZR150CC bike. It makes wired knocking sound in silencer and motor cycle jerks too and fro suddenly while in motion irrespective of which gear i am on. I done service at Yamaha service station. Again it remains the same. They changed spark plugs, checked carburetor and adjusted idle RPM etc. I can not find where the exact problem is... Please help me to get rid of. I am getting a mileage of 35 km/Lit. what are all the suitable ways to improve mileage?. please give some suggestions to improve mileage in technical aspects.

    I know that 2 stroke oil goes under the seat.but near the engine there is a dip stick.is this engine oil or gear oil.many thanks for your help also either one whats rhe grade i need

    Hello first post here thanks in advance for all the help. I have a 2000 yz125 and after about 10min of riding it will bog and die no matter how much kicking you do it still won't start you have to wait hours and it will start and ride perfect for another 10min. Supposedly a new piston 3 weeks ago and has a full doma racing pipe.

    Hey All! Just bought a 1972 CT-2. Having issues getting it to start. The bike has great compression, and a spark, but it wont pop. I figured I am going to replace the points and condenser (hopefully that will solve the problem) but does anyone have any other suggestions, or have had a similar problem getting them running? I know two strokes can be a little mysterious at times... Any help would be great!

  19. Hello to all you members I crashed my 2004 dtr lastnight going about 10mph it damaged the side panel and put I little dent on my exhaust. The bike never hit the floor I stayed onto the bike just scrapped the side on a wooden post in the dark whiles off roading, The problem I am having is that the bike tempter gauge comes on after riding around for about 10mins it want come on when riding only when It is ticking over or at some lights, but then when I set off again the light will turn off. I checked of any pipes were damaged or cracked but can't see any that are also top re coolent up Any help would be great people Cheers Lewis

    When riding straight forward the handlebars pointing heavily to the left. Things very skew in front. Would think triple trees have taken some knocks. Not very pleasant riding this way...also if I release handlebars while moving the bike feels very unstable. Is there a way of straightening it?
