It is stuck at the carb end the inner wire is free at the lever. i have consulted the haynes manual and you have to remove the tank seat and panels to get to the carb. any ideas for a quick fix as i am at work during daylight hours and dont want it out of action till the weekend if possible. cheers nigel

Hi, I wonder if you can help me with something I am a bit worried about. On three/four occasions my throttle has appeared to jam on full. This has happened in 3rd gear. All of a sudden the bike lunges forward from under 30mph to 38mph+ and I can't slow the bike down by shutting down the throttle, it just appears to be locked/jammed and I have to brake and stick in the clutch. The first time it happened I panicked and used the emergency kill switch (I was approaching a main road). Afterwards I thought I must have accidentally put it in fourth gear, but it has now happened a few times so I was wondering if there is a jam on the throttle, if this can happen and how to fi…

Hi Everybody! As I promised yesterday here: I'm uploading my home made automatic chain oilier system. I have made this chain oilier because I thought the regular price on ebay is way far ridicules from the real actual price which should be. (~ £80) I bought a used electronic Vauxhall Vectra fuel valve from pickapart Ltd Dartford for £1 and I paid the "let me in" price at this car breaker which is another £1. Also they let me have the plastic and rubber hose on the valve which I used in this chain oilier system to connect everything together. Fortunately I had an extra aquarium air valve at home which would cost about another £1 at Pet's at home.(UK) So what you…

I now practice riding nearly 2-3 hours on my YBR125. But today was decidedly was feeling cold in fingers. Perhaps its my age. On market there are wide range from Oxford heated grips around £80 to cheap Chinese heated one at £5 which you wrap around your existing bar grips and then put a shrinking sleeve on top. Any personal experiences would be appreciated.

The manual indicates if oil leakage evident on the rear shock the unit must be replaced...(as if these parts grow on trees outside.) I know its a gas shock but is there no repair procedure? It appears to have leaked oil but still seems to be working ok.

Have a 2009 Yamaha TMAX with 10,000 miles. Always synthetic oil. Last 10 days with 105+ heat days, has not been starting AFTER the first ride of the day. In the am it's fine, but after lunch, won't start (engine cranks, but won't fire). After a few hours, it starts, but after another ride. Won't fire up again. Installed new NGK Iridium plugs, gapped at .7mm. New K&N air filter. Switched to REAL gasoline from 10% ethanol. Battery tested at 13.8 volts. I'm stumped. Help, this is my primary transportation, and my good Yamaha dealer is back-logged 2 to 3 weeks.

Hi all, I just got myself a nice little 1978 dt125e the bike is all good apart from it does not put any charge back into the battery. I have had it apart and cleaned all the magnets and connections in the generator and checked the wires it has a strange type of regulator box very similar to what old cars would have used with a dynamo, I cant seem to find any info about the charging on this bike or any one who has worked on one. So if there is someone out there who can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated, Cheers Pat

I snapped my throttle cable the other day and I have got a new one I've got it all in place but it's not working right it Dosent spring back at all to get it back you need to twist the throttle up and I can't get the oil pump to align right as the cable seems to long when I twist the throttle the oil pump barely moves and I must have the needle in the carb wrong somehow as now petrol pours out the overflow pipe as soon as fuel is switched on is there a certain way to set up the cable as maybe put the carb slide together first or the throttle tube first or does it not matter any help much appreciated

The bulb in my XVS1100 blew the other week. I picked up a cheapy replacement and it blew almost straight away. It was only £1.99 from The Range, so I put it down to being a cheap and nasty bulb, and the bike being a thumper, the vibrations. Bought a decent one (OSRAM Night Racer Plus H4). This lasted a day before breaking (both main and dipped). I have of course been ultra careful when fitting them to not touch the glass etc. Fitted a 3rd bulb and will see what happens, Is there something else I should be looking at? Thanks. (Apologies for posting in the wrong forum before, didn't see this one)

Hi I'm new to this forum but i 'm looking for some help! Basically my 2011 ybr 125 was stolen from my driveway and police recovered it a few streets away from my house (still charged me £150 for recovery) but when I got it back there was obviously no ignition, now I purchased what was supposed to be a genuine lock set but when fitted it did nothing when it was switched on, we took it off and the colour of the wires were different to what is on the bike? So instead of sending the part back we tried changing all the wires but it did nothing and we now have a tampered part. All of the parts on eBay have the same wiring? Does anyone know where I can get a ignition lock set…

i have a big prob . i bought a 82 yamaha xt125 and it sat for about 15 years or so. i shot alittle gas into the carb and it fired right up for a sec till it burned up the gas. so i know its a good bike and will run good but the prob i have is when i took off the carb to clean it it was so bad from sitting that everything was stuck the float pin was stuck and while i was trying to remove it the brace the the pin slides through broke off the carb. now i need a new carb which i dont think this carb was fixable in the first place. but once i started looking for a new carb i found out that they have been discontinued and ebay and everywhere i look has no carb for this bike and…
