Hey everyone. Still fairly new to these forums, but I think I found the place to post issues(please correct me if I'm wrong). So , Friday, I fired up the 87 fz600, it fired up and ran fine for about 30 seconds and then fuel started pouring out my airbix and out of the number 2 cylinder at the gasket between the jugs and the crankcase. Any thoughts as to why it would flood out so bad? Or how the fuel made it out that jug seal? There was no fuel in the oil, no oil in the fuel, and when I tore it down, I didn't see anything that looked obviously wrong. New gaskets on they way..... Sent from my C5155 using Tapatalk

Ok so I know alot of people have trouble getting the lats ring off of a bearing off of a crank or shaft of any kind, You have used the proper tool and.... bang the old bearing comes appart, and your left with the wedding ring still stuck on the shaft. So now how do you get it off?? grind it going to end up cutting into the shaft. heat it and press it off NOPE going to change the temperment of the metal and I dont have a big press It's so simple I forgot to tell anyone and had to do it today so thought why not share. First you have to set up the thing you need to get the ring off of and be able to smack the shit out of it once, with a chisel and hammer so m…

Hey all Edit - Bike is a YBR125, 2006 So recently I made a post asking about my jammed rear brake and indicator faults. Well, it's all still broken but the rear brake is not really an issue anymore, it is being repaired at a workshop on the weekend and I'm sure I can ride it there using only the front brake if I'm careful. The indicators concern me though. None of them are working properly (but all of the bulbs are tested and working). I can already see it's pretty likely that I'll need to have that repaired at a garage too, but using arm signals on one of my first times riding the bike is going to be awkward, so, can anyone think of any last tricks I should …

Hi guys, i guess theres alot of DT125X owners out there wanting to make their little mopeds pretty and nimble like myself, so i figured prehaps i can help some people out and they can help me and each other... I have seen many single and confused threads here on the forum asking questions about de-restrictions, modifications, etc... So to start off i will explain the different mods so far i have come across and try my best to explain them one by one assuming we have got the bike from standard, and what other mods that might be availible for your DT125X. Exhaust Systems First off, replacing the standard exhaust on the DT125X not only gives the bike bett…

Hi all, starting to put the engine back together and I've got a couple of questions. Firstly I've put the new main bearings into the crankcases, do the seals go in now as well or when it's all mated up ? And on the subject of mating the halfs together, whats a good gasket sealant ? I've heard yamabond mentioned but it seems to be unavailable in the Uk ?, certainly none on eBay. Any help much appreciated, thanks.

So this is my first bike and i already know thatI did a bad thing by leaving the bike on PRI instead of ON when it came to the fuel...and I'm pretty sure that I hydro locked the bike after it refused to start. It made a loud cluck and not what i believe is the starter gear being stripped i have a question. Would it be a good idea for a person who has never messed with engines in his life tackle this job or should I take the bike to a shop for repair. I have the Clymer manual and am good at following directions. I am including the video that i took of what it does...Any help would be greatly appreciated. An estimate on how much a shop would charge would be great too. Thank…

iv been looking to get an aftermarket CDI finally you cant directly buy one for an xt (or ybr) but you can get one for the ttr 125 but non adjustable/ programable with preset timing curve same engine, stator and connection recently ive learnt that the raptor 125 shares the same engine so I get searching and reading and found it only has a 6 pin cdi (stock 7) im guessing this is due to it not needing a side stand switch so a lil rewiring would be needed but you can get procom adjustable cdi 9 settings top one removeing all restriction off top end revs but then looking through people would have tuned up raptor 125s have used the raptor 450 cdi this you ca…

Any wiring wizards out there!, Restoring a 81 xt250 bought as a non runner, problems with the wiring etc. I bought a new 6v xt loom, New ecu, 6v coil, switches etc, Now had a look at the stator at the weekend and discovered it's from a sr250, which is obviously 12v, also the reg-rectifier is off a sr250, so don't know, is it best to try and link the stator to the 6v loom or get a new sr 12v loom and start again, is there much differance? any one done this in the past?, any one got a xt250 stator they want to sell?, none on ebay at the moment. Am a little lost at the moment, Any help would be great, Tony.

Hey! I thought I would share what I have been doing on this sunny day we had today in Essex. First, my exhaust was a rusty wreck which needed something doing to it, I gave it a bit of a rub down, then a good soaking. I don't have a washing line, so found an old bit of wire 2014-03-09 12.11.31 by mb1993corsa, on Flickr 2014-03-09 12.31.37 by mb1993corsa, on Flickr 2014-03-09 12.32.50 by mb1993corsa, on Flickr After drying, I used some Rustoleum BBQ & Stove paint. I started out with some light coats about 30cm away, then left it 10 mins for drying before applying a slightly thicker coat. After I used the entire can of paint, the result…

As the title says. Took my 1980 DT175MX out today for a 20 mile trip. Everything was great apart from front right indicator not working, 2t oil level light on, oil being pushed out of top of crank case/clutch housing(I think that's what it is) and just as I got back, went to put it away and the kick start jammed in the down position! Eventually got it off the spline and the shaft spun back to where it should be. Reassembled (without the ball bearing and spring which I hadn't noticed had fallen out) only for it to do the same again. Happy days! Any advice what might be causing the kick start shaft to lock. http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-dt175h-1981_model8795/partslist/…
