  2. Hi all I have a RXS that have recently been leaving a oily mess on the drive, It's not the overflow as I service my carb on a regular basis. Having and old bike means the tanks have shit in them^^ (fuel line filter installed) The bike runs fine, tho oil is running down the stand/s there is a fair bit of oil built up round the hinge of the side stand. its not a massive oil spill, but none the less its and issue I would like resolve. There is an oil seal round the front sprocket but for the life of me can't seem to see it in the parts catalogue. They have been known to go from time to time (so I hear) Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this matter for me…

  3. Hello, I'm reviving my R1-Z after 10 years in storage. Does anyone know the exact fork oil amounts & level as per the workshop manual? Or even better - If anyone has an electronic copy of a Japanese R1-Z manual I'd happily take a copy of it Thank you kindly,

  4. Headlamp switch faulty - somehow dipped has become full after last bulb change?? Easy fix to swap wires over. Binding brakes. Need to remove calipers and replace seals. Hopefully easy change - on order. Rear wheel bearings excessive play. Should be easy change - bearings ordered. Rear brake back plate insecure. Caused by incorrect nut and bolt. New one ready to replace. 2 advisories on tyres - need to replace sooner rather than later but can wait a week for payday! Not too bad for a 20 yr old bike. Saving nearly £200 on labour as long as I can get it all done myself. Would have to be a Friday though - can't get the bits til Monday so will be refitting bits i…

My speedo stopped working recently so I bought a speedo drive unit, assuming this would be the offending part. When I came to replace it last night, it's actually the lugs inside the wheel hub that have sheared off. I can't see if it is a seperate ring or part of the hub and can't find anything online either. Does anyone know it is a washer/ring behind a rubber seal and if so, do you know what it is called? If rather not have to buy a new wheel and spend more time fixing it than necessary!

hi, i just bought the bike which had been stolen, butchered, and since recovered.. so as there is no frame number any more, i am wondering if i can determine the age of my 'ENGINE'from the engine number, which will at least give me a rough idea of the age i assume.... iv also heard of the acid retrieval technique but i dont know what ingredients or mixtures to use.... any help on either points would be much appreciated.. thanks.

hi guys, I am getting a xvs 125 soon and i was wondering if it will be ok if i drill some Holes in the end of the pipes. My concern is will i lose any speed due to loss of back pressure, and/or will it cause any problems engine wise ? If it may cause problems, i was thinking maybe i could get some turnout pipes or slashcuts, but again, would i have any probs if i fitted these types of exhaust. ie when it comes to the mot ?? A massive thanks in advance-Terry.

Hi all I bought a Yamaha XJ N Diversion last year and got the plates replaced a couple of months ago after which I rode for 2K miles. I am now experiencing a problem when I start the bike in the morning. After I start the engine and put the first gear the bike goes off.It seems the plates get stuck when the engine is cold. Is it possible the mechanic put the wrong type of oil? Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Vince

Fitted 2 new indicators and for some reason (it did it before) they flash fast. I was thinking its because the bike was not started nor have I tried them with the bike started. (other things need doing first) but I cant see that making much difference tbh. They all flash no bulbs out ect so first question 1. What could be the reason for them flashing fast ? 2. Will it pass a mot with fast indicators? Cheers joe
