  1. i changed my oil recently and ever since i've had a small oil leak that i didn't notice before i was careful to drain all of the oil out of the bike (or at least i thought i did) by letting it drain for 20 mins on the centre stand, and then moving the bike about until every last drop appeared to be out. i then filled it with a 1l bottle of oil ever since then, i've had a small oil leak as pictured below. i think it might be seeping out through the bolt in the middle of the picture. any ideas what i may have done to cause this? and how it can be fixed? thanks

Hello all, got a 73 125 at2 I think, I always thought it was a dt but maybe not anyway I've had it running, but not real good. It would only start by jumping it and only by kick when it warmed up, but not always. Now I can't get any spark out of it. I've played with the timing, points look good, put a different condenser on it that was used, but no difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a bit of an incident where my chain on my 95 FZR600R snapped and it turns out it's done some fairly terminal damage to my crankcase. Does anyone know what other bikes use the same engine cases. I'm fairly sure the thundercat does but are there any others? I'm thinking along the lines of either an older FZR or maybe a fazer 600 but want to be sure before I flash the cash. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

Hi all, I recently picked up an SR 125 but it seems to be having a few issues with the clutch... There is only a couple of mm of bite range in the lever and its all the way at the full extent of the clutch lever, the clutch doesn't seem to be slipping but Its making it hard to ride. Ive managed to pick up a workshop manual and have tried a few things already... - clutch cable adjustment at both the crankcase and lever - replace actuator arm return spring - replace friction plates - examined steel plates (look to be within tolerance) - examined pressure plate springs (look to be within tolerance) - attempted to adjust the actuating arm position using the lockn…

  9. Hi guys, quick question on behalf of a friend. He has a Chinese bike, which has what seems to be a copy of the YBR 125 engine, we had to srip the engine down to replace a bent valve, because it's a copy and not an actual Yamaha engine, it was pants. The bolt and locking nut had rattled out of the top of the intake valve and got lodged in the exhaust valve. Nightmare! Now that's sorted, the problem is with the timing, we put everything back together, timed the engine lining up the notches in the cam sprocket with the head and the notch on the fltwheel eith the point in the timing viewhole thing (I'm not sure of the actual term for that thing) and turned the engine with…

I had this bike starting, but running poorly. Removed and cleaned carburator and all jets. Initial reinstall, the carburator was spilling fuel out of the bowl overflow drain. So, I bent the tang on the brass float and reinstalled. Now it is no longer spilling fuel, but will not start. So, the current set-up is; - pilot jet in bowl is bottomed out - air jet is at 1/2 turn out. - idle is at 1 1/2 turns out Plug is wet and there is good spark. The float tang is set so when carburator is upside down, without pressure, the floats are slightly inside the carburator housing. But, again, the carburator is not spilling fuel through overflow and there is fuel on the p…

Hello all I am searching online for a new pair of indicator relays for my 06 YBR125, since there is a 1-2 second delay when I press the switch. I know it's the relays because they make a loud squealing noise before they start clicking. You can also feel it if you take them out while you press the switch. Pretty dangerous if I need to indicate quickly. Only problem I'm having is that they are flippin expensive! This is all I can find online: http://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/indicator-relay-yamaha-ybr125-2005-2006-p-247543.html?gclid=CN2LxcK4770CFdShtAodl2EA3Q 15 quid each with about 5 quid delivery, that's 35 quid for a couple of relays. Bit extortionate…

My bike is a 2009 ybr 125 (fuel injection), my clock assy is damaged (bike was blown over in heavy winds, parked up), but still fully working, only considering replacing for cosmetic purposes so not an urgent fix. I was looking on e-bay, aftermarket suppliers and even oem distributors, prices vary wildly for the full assy, i came across an older model version (2005-2006) old new stock, from what i can tell it is identical to my current one, just for the older version of my bike. My question really is, would the older versions, or even the newer style 2010 onwards speedo's work on my bike, by that i mean all the cabling and the like, i know they would bolt on just …

Hi All. Could use a bit of advice with my 2002 DT 175. It had a partial seizure recently and I had it re-bored and installed new piston and rings/ gaskets etc. I think seizure happened because my wife (yes, it always helps to have someone else to blame) took it out on a 40 degree (104degree F) day and rode it as fast as it would go on the highway for about an hour. It started first time from the repair and I have done maybe 300kms (200miles) on her since. Last week she simply refused to kick start. I had started her normally that morning. She started second or third kick. I then rode her with no problems for about 30 kms and stopped at a friends place for a few hour…

  16. i'm running a 2010 yamaha ybr 125 on L plates. i've got my test next week so i'm wanting to practice my skills. typically, it's decided to stop working! at first, i turn the key to 'on' and the lights would come on but it wouldn't fire up when i pressed the ignition button. the more times i tied it, the weaker the lights got until the point where no lights came on at all i took the battery off and stuck it on charge, but the charging unit said it was 'max'. so i used a multimeter to check the resting voltage, which was over 13v (which i believe is ok?) so i don't think the battery's at fault. i've checked the blue fuse that's connected to the positive cable and that …

  17. How do you tell if the oil injection system is working? I took the cover off and the plastic sprocket is turning, the throttle cable is attached and working, I loosened the nut where the line goes into the motor while running and no oil comes out.is it supposed to?

Hello, I got a 74 dt 125 yesterday with a no spark issue. I hooked a battery to it and the electronics don't seem to work. I have no horn, lights , no neutral light nothing. There's voltage flowing to the ignition, and some other wires I noticed with a tester. I pulled the magneto and looks like someone tried replacing the condenser. It has some soldered wires on top of it. Looks like they couldn't get the stator plate off because of some badly stripped bolts. Anyone have any idea's on what might be going on Why nothings working thanks!

Hi good people, I have a question regarding the down pipes on my bike. The thing is i want to install some slip on exhausts, and after looking at the ststem yesterday to get measurments etc, i noticed the rear pipe behind the heat shield is a lot narrower than the front pipe. How could i install after market pipes, when there is a noticeable difference in the pipes diametres ?? So to sum up, the front pipe just looks like it could be chopped and a slip on installed, but the rear pipe behind the heat shield is too narrow. It has got me baffled, if you would excuse the pun, and i would love to hear your good feedback. Thanks in advance, Terry.
