Freelancewriter here from France and Hello. It is almost as wet here but hopefully bike weather on the way! I have a secondhand XJ 900 F, 1986 very tidy but been stood a while. I've fixed indicators that had broken wires but stumped at present with no lights! Brake lights work Ok and Horn; but need a bit of advice on what could be stopping the main lights working, please. Wiring in headlight is tidy and un molested, sorted what goes where but all signs look like a switch problem? Anyone any XJ900 light wiring experience please? Thanks

i know it's not a yam , my lads come back from the track , and told me it started lacking power then picked up then lagged again then his mate jumped on it and it kept on stalling in first gear. then it got going then just died , after that, the kick start wouldn't kick (siezed i think ) he says the engine was red hot the air intake was roasting . im told he thinks they put 250ml of oil in it (to much i think) and the coolant level was still full. does it sound siezed to you and is their a quick fix ei three in one oil down the piston or something. cheers guys

Hi Just hoping someone can help I just bought a Diversion 600N , 1995 and when I got it the you could not get it into gear . I found the thrust bearing gone so replaced and all ok in that department now . When I started the bike it sounds like a bag of nails under 2000 rpm , so I have stripped cleaned and balanced the carbs , removed the clutch basket and checked out the gearing drive behind and replaced the drive pin as a precaution. Has anyone any idea what it could be there are other bikers with the same problem on You tube but no solution as yet . Many thanks Clive

Hello, I have a 2008 Yamaha YBR 125 motorcycle which is causing me headaches as it will not start. The bike initially would start in neutral but as soon as it was put into gear the bike stopped running, & now it will not start at all whether it be neutral or in gear. I have replaced the side stand switch, the CDI & ignition coil, but nothing has help to resolve the issue. With this in mind I would, I would very much appreciate if anyone could suggest anything else that I could try in resolving the problem please. Kind regards with thanks Phil

I recently checked the oil level and condition in my gearbox on my '80 DT175, luckily the level perfectly fine which seems like there is no leak neither any blow by, right? But the colour of that oil looked disgusting, it looked hot chocolate brown and quite runny, so I bought some 10w/40 oil since its the closest to what the manuals suggests which is 10w30. Since I couldn't find the oil to spec, is it still ok to use this same oil for the fork also? Is it difficult changing the oil in the fork? The service manual suggests the same oil for both the gearbox and fork. Thanks in advance

Hi all, sorry to raise conundrum on my first post, but this is driving me mad, so hope anyone can possibly help with an ignition problem on my ybr125 07 plate (carb version) since around november last year my bike has been reluctant to start with a warm engine, eg i've taken it out for a run, stopped, and couple of minutes later when i'm ready to go again, my bike doesn't want to start. it will start fine from a cold engine on or off the choke, and once it is running (hot or cold) it runs fine and you wouldn't suspect a thing. i did suspect it might be the coil breaking down but the replacement hasn't seemed to make a lot of difference as it still is playing up.... …

So as you may have seen in other treads my bike is poorly, I'm not completely sure why this happened my guess is fuel tap needs a repair kit, don't know what other damage its done, hopefully I'll just change oil & filter and sort out the fuel tap and see how it goes, anyone got any Idea's what else would have caused this. I did recently clean out my carbs, but double checked everything, also did an oil change not long ago

Hello Guys I can feel a knocking through my left side foot pedal when my bike is moving. I've got a feeling it might be my drive chain as it has a seized link, I've got new chain and sprocket....just waiting for some decent weather to fit. If it is not the drive chain, does anyone have an idea what else it might be? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm considering putting bar end mirrors on my Diversion F . Something like this: However after I take off the existing mirrors (I haven't don't it yet) I assume there is going to be a hole in the fairing. You can see how the mirrors are placed in this pic. http://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/moto_gallery/YAMAHAXJ6DiversionF-4421_4.jpg Any suggestions on how to fill this hole? Id obviously like it to look good.
