Hey guys, this is my first post here so hope this goes well. Just bought a Yamaha XJ600 1992 as my first bike, planning on doing it up a bit while i'm passing my tests. it's got virtually no oil so i thought i would start with an oil change and replace the filter, anyone know what oil i need and what the filter part is? cheers.

my 2000 R6 wont reach above 8000rpm in 1st, also when it gets to 4500rpm in 2nd it gets really sluggish! then it does it randomly in the rest of the gears! any ideas please?? all ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks guys, it is running really poor

Hi there, First post, so first off, nice to meet you all! I just picked up an old 1996 N reg SR 125, however, the chap I bought it from says it has a steering lock, but he didn't have the key; does anyone know how I go about obtaining a new key? While I'm here - possible dumb question to be asked - but does this bike have any underseat storage for a padlock etc? If anyone knows I'd be greatful. Thanks

I'm looking for an exhaust for my Yamaha Virago XV125 (2002) I cant seem to find a UK supplier! I realy need the back down pipe, the one from the rear cylinder.. does any body know if it's the same one as the XV250, I beleave the only diference between the two bikes is cylinder size! I was wanting to order the XV250 model, part no 2UJ1462100 Do you think it will fit? Any Ideas of suggestions.. Thanks Robert

hi ive just bought myself a 1988 1000cc FZR genesis and have found that the gearbox is completly totalled, i am finding it difficult to find any gearboxes that will fit or genesis engines for sale, however there does seem to be a lot of exup engines about and i would like to know, 1) does the exup engine fit the genesis frame? 2) does the exup gearbox fit the gensis engine? if anyone could help here it would be much appreciated. many thanks adam

The indicators on my XVS650 are flashing quickly on the left hand turn ive checked the bulbs and they both work any advise welcome

what up just recently joined the site, picked up a new 09 R6 and wanted to throw a slip on, on it what else do i need besides the pipe, i hear a powercommander but will the bike get ruined or can it still be ran without a powercommander?? if some one could help me out with this id apperciate it thank you

So ive bought a yamy xt 125R ( cross county model ) and wondering is there any way in giving it a bit more power, as ive heard there is a mod for the DT model wich is to do with the speedo, wondering if there is any simalar mod for the xt models, any help would be much apreciated, thanks in advance,

First off, hi all! First post... I recently bought a DT 125 R on a 51 plate, and have been using it for a couple of weeks, runs nice (only 9000 on the clock) and generally no problems at all. However, I have started having to make reasonable trips during the night for work on it, and the lights are well... rubbish. The headlight doesn't get bright untill I am reving into the 5-6k range (although usable most of the time), and then when slowing for a corner, the headlight dips, brake light then dips it some more, and if I need the indicators on, I may as well have switched the headlight off! I believe the lighting system is all original. So my question is... can a…

So I just bought one of these and have yet to get the manual, but i was wondering what the box the exhaust goes through on the bottom of the frame is... it looks like it goes 4 to 1 then back to 2... weird!!!! I've asked a bunch of buddies and no one has a clue! any input would be helpful... Im thinking of taking it off and doing straight pipes but who knows.

The minimum brake disc thickness is supposed to be stamped somewhere, but I can't find it on mine. So, how much can you safely allow a disc to wear? My front disc is down to 5.2 mm and it was 6 mm to start with. /Fred

Oil cooler on my XJ600 has split, as did my sides with laughter when I got the price of a new Yamaha one. Plenty of oil coolers on ebay for bugger all money, easy to fabricate brackets and pipes to make em fit. Question is, does it matter much if the replacement is a wee bit smaller? I know a lot of bikes don't even have a cooler fitted so I have prob answered my own question, still, best to ask those more in the know. Cheers Peter

I am the proud owner of a TDM900; it was fully serviced 3 months ago and a new battery was fitted by a Yam dealer due to it going flat over the winter. I have ridden the bike at least every other week since (all dry miles); yesterday I took it out for a 20m ride, parked it in a garage overnight and this morning it won't start. I attached a trickle charger, which indicates the battery is ok (3 of the 4 led lights glow) and when the ignition button is pressed there is a clicking noise, suggesting it is trying to start but no joy! I have a yamaha jog rr and i took it into the yamaha dealer to get a new headsasket fitted wich lasted about 3 days and then the water enterd the barrel again i phoned up and asked if the head was warped they said it was fine i check for a blockage in the system that is fine, and the water pump seems fine. any ideas on the problem ?

hi i have just brought a realy cheap dt 175 sight un seen (silly move i know) and i just found out why it was so cheap the wiering is all disconected. i was woundering if i could get some help please. the magneto has 6 wieres: brown, black, red/white, yellow, green and blue the CDI has 6 as well but in 2 lots of 3: lot 1: brown, black, red/white lot 2: black, black/white, orange im gessing the brown, black, red/white on the magneto go to the same colour on the CDI but where do the rest go? and there are all these other wiers do i need to do any thing to them or just get rid of them. im just riding in the bush so i just gota get the old girl runing any …

Hey there every buddy i just picked up a 1982 yamaha SECA 400 and i was told by the last owner that it had electrical problems but i checked all the electrical and all lights, gauge cluster coils are working but it wont start battery is new i put it in it cranks over back fires out one pipe at a time but not constantly and some times almost seems like it's guna start, also i checked for spark in both cylinders well cranking it and when siting on it the right hand plug sparks normal and the left seems to only spark when i let off the starter button but it back fires out the left pipe to occasionally. what the heck is going on here help please if any one can help me oh ya i…

HI I HAVE A XJ600 WHICH WILL DRIVE ABOUT ALL DAY BELOW 65MPH BUT AS SOON AS YOU TRY TO PUSH IT REFUSES AS IF SOMETHING IS HOLDING IT BACK THINK ITS FUEL PROBLEM BUT NOT SURE TICKS OVER GREAT AND RUNS LIKE A DREAM TILL YOU GET TO 65MPH THEN ITS DEAD ANYONE ANY IDEAS? CHEERS GARY
