    my mate has asked me if i could fit a leovinci exhaust to his new aerox 50. but i have realised that there is another pipe coming from the original exhaust, this appears to go to the engine, i was wondering if any 1 new what i could do with this or what it is for. i belive its there for reusing exhaust emissions or something like that. any help woill be greatly appreciated

    Hello all, I wonder if anyone could tell me what other bikes have the same forks as the yamaha rs100 with drum brakes. Mine are too pitted to do anything with for the mot. Seem to be like hens teeth on ebay. Bike isnt worth a lot so have to be on the cheap. Rechroming etc would be too expensive. Any information much appreciated. Craig

    I've been told they give a big boost to speed so have set my mind on getting one, I wanted to fit it myself but first need to know a couple of things.. Whats the difference between a Primary and Secondary gear kit - if you want the secondary do you first need the Primary? What would be the best place to purchase one Are they easy to fit, could anybody give instructions? It would help me soo much I've searched everywhere but cant find anything on them I have a Yamaha Aerox 50 '03 plate if anybody wonders Thanks, George.

    Hi i just recently brought a yamaha aerox 50 2000 model the bike has been in storage for 7-8 years and i have only just taken the restrictor out of the exhaust. after doing this i put the bike back together and took it for a test ride up and down the road. The bike was running fine but after the engine got warm, the was a large amount of grey smoke coming out of the exhaust whenever i ride it however it does not happen when the bike is cold so could anybody help me to find out what the problem is please cheers.     Hi All, Just joined this forum so please be gentle with me! I want to convert my sons 1999 xvs400 dragstar Classic to a 650. I understand that the two engines are the same except that the 400 is a sleeved down version of the 650? Can i simply fit a set of 650 pistons and barrels to the 400 bottom end and fit the original 400 head to the new barrells? I believe the carbs are the same for both models Mikuni BDS28 x 2. i'm guessing I will have to re jet (Main and Pilot)? Also, will the 400 exhuasts fit to the new 650 parts or will I have to invest in a 650 system? finally, if the top end conversion isn't an option, will a 650 engine just bolt in as a replac…

    Hi Just bought an SZR 660 cheap, and its knocks loudly on tick over at the top end, however rev it over 2000 rpm the knocking disappears. But it gets louder if you blip the throttle until the revs pick up above that point. It seems to run ok despite this and its not burning oil. Any thoughts please? Over to you experts! Cheers Budgie

    Hi I want to change my 50cc engine over with a air cooled 100cc engine getting one off of ebay (just the engine). i would be putting it on my old frame and it would be registered as a 50cc. im also going to buy a bigger carb for the engine. I was wondering weather i have to change the electrics i.e. the wiring loom, starter relay and CDI? Also do i have to change the suspention? Thanks

    hi the other day i was going along the road on my aerox 50/70 kit on and my bike lost power and cut out i started the bike back up and i was doing 5mph max speed for a few meters down the road then the bike just cut out i came home took the casing off an my belt as shreaded me and my brother have cleaned all the remains of the belt out and we have replaced it with the mallossi kevlar belt which was the same as the one that shreadded we have put the bike back together and took it for a test run but now when i accelerate there is only a little power and i dont move at all i can hold the bike still on full throttle with my feet we have cleaned the air filter out and it is st…

    i have a problem with my Yamaha aerox / yq50 it makes a screeching noise above 10 mph and is alot louder than the engine, plus the engine its pretty loud i was wondering if anybody knew the cause of this or how to fix it baring in mind the bike is only 5 days old and has done around 450 miles i wouldn't be to bothered really because the bike goes in for service Monday-Tuesday but its the fact i rode back from Matlock today and the bike was embarrassing to ride on with the noise and i didn't expect to be annoyed because my bike didn't work after 5 day ! thanks anyway, if anyone has any suggestions what the cause is or how to fix please let me know Jamie

    right guys i just bought a gianelli silencer race pipe for my 50cc aerox it came with race rollers, i have had the side casing off but i do not understand what part is the variator and how to get it off to change the rollers. COULD ANYBODY HELP ME BY TYPING UP A STEP BY STEP FOR HOW TO CHANGE THE ROLLERS PLEASE! also please tell me if 5g rollers are any good?

    Hey Yamaha lovers I'm after getting a 2000 Yamaha aerox 2 days ago, and i must say, It's so fun as it's 9 years old i've figured out a few minor problems, but other than that it's in good condition, First off, the horn isn't working, and I don't know if it is the connections or what?? Any ideas? Few scratches on panels and rust on exhaust, but not a problem Really just need a little advise on what I can to to improve (D.I.Y wise, not financially able to get loads of stuff.....yet ) the condition of it. Also the back brake won't work, I would appreciate any help at all, and would love a challenge Thanks in advance, Gav

    So after a carb and tank cleaning and a new battery I got my 1980 XS400G to start without a problem. The problem arose a few minutes of running when faint white smoke started coming out of where the exhaust pipes connect to the heads. Could this be the valve guides? I was told the bike had sat for around a year, so I put new oil in it before I started it up. I also changed the oil again and tried running the engine again and after a minute or two the smoke returned. The pipes also got pretty yellow at the first bend near the head. I may have had a little too much oil also- but that wouldn't be the primary cause of the smoke would it? I've drained the oil and I'm standin…

    I have a Aerox 50 2003 and has 20,883 miles on the clock, it has been de-restricted,and i have had fitted a big bore 70 kit, multivar, viper exhaust,and most recently i have just had fitted a kevlar belt and new rollers, the bike came back with excellent acceleration and top end, on the bill they have noted that the the engine has started to show its age with the start of suspected main end bearings about to go. The problem i have is that it has developed a bad misfire which i thought was the coil as i wasn't getting a good spark,after fitting a new coil,lead and cap the misfire is still there,has anyone out there have an idea of what maybe is wrong.Cheers Jerseyspike

    All the usual obvious restoration questions, but asked by someone with limited knowledge of motorbikes, fun right? Basically I got a YB100 off eBay, collected it today and I intend to get her back on the road and rideable as a commuter. However, even with the Haynes manual there's a few questions that spring instantly to mind after looking over the bike: Firstly, the ignition switch seems to have four distinct positions, can someone explain them to me please?     I know how to change a jet and where it is etc but on the DTR the carb is buried in the centre of the bike and surrounded by cables and pipes, ive had a go at getting the carb out i removed the rev counter cable and rearbrake resivior and a few other bits but i couldnt seem the get the 2 coolant pipes detached from the carb(the bike has been sitting for 5 years so things are abit harder to move). Anyone got some hints, tips or shortcuts to help me change the main jet. Anyone around the chingford (east london) area that wants to come have a shot at it, theres £20 in it for you if you're successful.

    Hello i hope someone out there can help me. Ihave an xj900 "89" which starts and runs on choke (sounds sluggish) but engine stops if i remove choke or make any attempt to turn on throttle. If it helps i have replaced float needles and seats, thoroughly cleaned everything including all jets and emulsion tubes, non of this has made any difference, i also have checked though each diaphram all seem as new. What is it iam missing?????? thanks tooty.

    Hi all A bit of history my second bike a 1992 XJ600S Diversion sat in garage for a couple of months,tried to start it loud click on right hand side,no go.much head scratching replaced faulty starter solenoid.new one ok according to haynes test method.Still no joy next option is replace either relay assy on left hand side of bike,or ignitor unit assy on right hand side of bike. My question is can anybody suggest other options or tests to isolate problem. Thanks in Advance Tunny

    Hi, New user here so hi to everyone. I have a problem with my DTR that I am hoping someone can give me a few directions to go in. I am not unknowledgeable about bikes but I am hoping for some fresh input so thanks in advance. Its a 1997, spark plug sparking ok, seems to be getting fuel through to the spark plug, seems to fire when throttle is 3/4 open but still not starting. Any ideas, I have a few of my own but perhaps someone here can think of something i have missed.
