Hi all I have a problem with my sidestand springs - They're not there. I know a place that I can get the springs but it looks like something else is missing, too. Is anyone here able to see if I need more than the springs? Thanks in advance Ryan

Hey all, im new to these forums, Im one of those lucky people who owns the Rossi Replica R-125, And i paid the same price for it as the bog standard bikes so im quite lucky in that respect, I recently passed my CBT so can ride it as i please now, EDIT: PASSED MY FULL TEST NOT CBT I got Kev Pickering to make me a custom exhaust for the bad boy, Ive removed all restrictions from the bike, and have changed the head of the engine to upgrade the bike to a 150cc instead of the standard 125. All the work to the bike i did myself, i literally just paid for parts id say it cost me around £500 The good thing after all this, the bike as standard w…

Hi, I have recently bought myself a 1998 Yamaha XJ600n, the cam chain is beginning to make quite a noise. I have teken out the rensioner and the little ratched is nearly worn off, so its obvious that the tensioner is dead. I have modified the tensioner for now into a manual tensioner but I am looking for a new one. Can anyone suggest anywhere to buy a tensioner, apart from the main dealers, and online auctions? I would be very geatful for any suggestions...

Hi all Just bought myself a very nice DT230 in immaculate condition and now I want to mod the hell out of it. There is so little info on the net aout these bikes but the impression I am getting is that they are a dt125 with a bigger engine. Anyway, it seems like it has been strangled near to death to meet emmitions reqirements. I don't even think it is work modding the carby, I think I should find one of another bike and adapt it to fit. I don't know much about how the powervale works, it is electronic I know that much but is there any vaceum sensors or electronic sensors from the carby that is likely to mess with my plan? Any advice would be great, thanks

Hi I wonder if anyone can advise me of what is "Normal" tolerance for the movement "Side to side" of the conrod once the head and barrels have been removed. I have had this bike in the back of my garage unused since I bought it apart from starting it once a couple of years ago, but remember that the engine made an unusual noise when running, not that it would run for long. (Mainly due to carbs I think?). I have decided to get it going at last and have removed the top end to clean/paint it properly and thought that while it was apart that I should check out the condition of the engine. On removal of the barrel the conrod seems to move from side to side more than I wo…

my lad has just got a new yzf r125 yamaha 4 stroke and it seems to be dragging the clutch/stalling after a short run. It's under warranty but I just wondered what the clutch setup was like and is this a common issue with the 125s? Are there any tech articles, workshop manuals online or a parts diagram? I expect it has a central clutch adjustment bolt/locknut on the outer casings, under the fairings? Any tips on setting up the clutch? cheers for any help. Brian.

Got the clutch basket off my XJ600(1989) to replace the annoying rattly dowel on the back of it (a factory fitted rattle from what I have read lol). Noticed there seems to be a lot of play with the oil pump shaft and gear, not side to side but I can pull the oil pump gear in and out about a quarter of an inch. Is there supposed to be some play or do I need to order some more expensive Yamaha parts? Cheers P

Hi guys. Last week I took my FZR out for the first ride in ages. It was fine. The next day it decided to break down and was diagnosed as a duff battery by the AA, it was also a bit erratic on idle (I put this down to the poor battery). I put the battery on an Optimate for the week and tested it today. All seemed well so I left it running for a few minutes, until it died with the same symptoms as last weekend (not holding charge). I bought a new battery today and started the bike, which at first seemed a lot smoother on tick over but after a few minutes became a bit lumpy. Figuring the fuel had been standing a while I popped to the petrol station, and it cut ou…

2007 YZF600R won't idle. This bike has low miles(1,785). I've tried running both 87 octane and 91 octane. In my opinion, this bike has always idled rough. This motorcycle was bought new. I've tried taking it back to the dealer several times. They tell me to keep riding it. It will smooth out. Also, they gave me some Yamaha ring free fuel treatment to put in the gas tank. The bike will idle around 600rpm but it's barley running. When I try to turn the idling adjustment screw up it stalls. The bike runs smooth at highway speeds except for an occasional backfire. I've had the bike serviced once since I bought it. I guess I need to take it back to the dealer, now that it is o…

My pre-Div XJ600's clutch is on its last legs. Never replaced a bike clutch before, is it standard practice to replace the steel plates as well as the friction plates? The steel plates in the clutch are still in acceptable condition. Only asking cos when i've replaced car clutches I always replace the plate and cover. Cheers P
