so i own a 1982 yamaha maxim 750. love the thing to death but im having some problems, like for starters, i cant get it to go past 35mph right now, and i have to run it with the choke partially on, and when i apply the throttle i cant twist it more then 1/8th of the way before the bike stops picking up speed, whats going on?

Hi all does anyone know what other models are fitted with the same rear disc as the thunderace, as this modle seems to have a premium over lesser modles in the second hand market. any help greatfully recieved.

Well, don't know how many people read my post in the classic section but boil things down is that my oil press. light (yes I'm sure it's press. on this bike) is not working. Went through 3 different switch (nos & used) with no avail. Someone suggested it's the wiring. Do you guys think it's somewhere in the wire harness? If I want to replace the harness, what are the procedures? I have the factory service manual but it didn't say how to replace the harness (Yes I'm a noob). Anyone can give me some pointers? Thank a bunch!

The front disc on my YBR 2007 3D92 has warped, which I believe is not uncommon with this model. I'm reluctant to replace it with like for like as it could end up warped again. My query is does anyone have experience of a suitable replacement, maybe a floating disc?

Just got out the workshop i am put my ace engine back into my yzf750 frame "again" Plz help when the key in turned on the rev counter the needle goes up the scale and then back down this happens when the engine is running as well. "the fuel tank is not on at the moment i am running the bike on a mower tank" could this be the problem.

ok so here is the prob i got a yamaha fzr 400 exup it runs ok starts ok and then pulls away and suddenly wont rev over 2000 rpm if i do get it to rev over 2000 it clears fine, i have checked the exup valve was a bit sticking so sorted tht but still the same prob any help pleaaseee

Hi, recently impulse bought a 1989 XJ600, fantastic looking bike for not a lot of dosh. Anyway, the Motad 4 into 1 exhaust on it is pretty shot although the headers are fine. Rather than spending £300-400 on a replacement system I fancy building a custom one. Can is easy enough bought for £50 but i've spend two days trawling the internet for a 4 into 1 splitter. Anyone know if a universal splitter is even available? Any advice appreciated. Many Thanks Peter

The bolt on the left hand side of my XJ 600. that is used to adjust the chain is all rounded and cant get it to move any ideas of how I code get it off. I have new bolts to put on when I do. Before any say I have be using a spanner that that was to big. I was not the metal is all rusty and soft

Can anyone help I am getting a misfire, bike was OK first thing then when under load the misfire started after about 20 miles.

fzr600 92....only get 7 volt ac from the stater .....why...

Is it normal to resurface a brake rotor on a motorcycle? or do people just replace them because of how thin they are?

Hi All, CDI has a burnt-beyond-recognition resistor and I can't seem to find out it's specifications to replace it. Details: TDM 850 1992 CDI: 3VD-82305-00 DENSO Blue Label Since I can't find the technical schematics for this unit anywhere, would anyone with the same CDI be so kind as to pull it out and use a multimeter to tell me the specs of the resistor marked as 'R30' please? (It's the big resistor on the top: probably blue) Thanks

Hi, I'm a new rider, and have found a 1998 xj600n for 450. The guy says its mehanically sound but that the cam tensioner rattle a bit. How bad is this? How expensive would it be to fix, he's right about what wrong? Also is it something you can fix with a service manual, or is it something that would make me have to take in to a garage? Cheers

Hello Wondering if anyone has any carb to port inlet rubbers for a FZR 400 RR EXUP (3TJ) please? Mine are knackered and need replacing but it is murder trying to find some replacements. I can get them from yamaha but they're 35 quid each! and I need four. Tried several scrap yards and keeping an eye on ebay but no success yet. Anyway, if anyone knows where I can procure some, then please let me know. Cheers...

i was rideing back home from work today and my chain snapped taking out indicator, chain guard, and numberplate with it. i pushed it home as it was about a mile and a half from my house, when i got back i replaced the chain and sprockets, i thaught it was all over started the bike put it in gear and nothing! it dont move there is a metalic noise coming from the gearbox (i think) its louder and more metalic when i take the oil cap out... can someone tell me what is wrong and if its hard and expensive to repair as its my only mode of transport cheers jake

Hi, as a first bike i bought a 89 TZR 125. I know it will spoil the way the bike looks, but i would ideally like to fit a top box big enough for a helmet to it, as i don't want to have to carry a helmet around with me. I have had a look at numerous websites selling boxes, but nowhere could i find a product that stated it could be fitted to this year of bike. Is there a possibility of fitting a box to this bike? Thanks for any advice

Does anyone know how to adjust the handlebars on a 2009 XJ6N? It says in the manual they can be adjusted backwards or forwards by 20mm but doesn't say any more than that. I'd appreciate any thoughts....
