Hi, I have a 2000 R1 and for the 3rd time now I’ve lost the back brake, basically I went to use it and there was nothing, like it wasn’t even connected, tried pumping it and still nothing, I got to work and tried on my way back home and it was back to normal, now this exact same thing happened 3 times now, I’m pretty sure it’s air in the lines but is there any common places where I could get air leaking in? I’ve looked over the lines and they are in very good conditions and everything seems tight, break fluid was changes a year ago and it’s nice and clean, also I can’t see any fluid leaking out anywhere. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Had the head off my FZR foxeye - all back together & fired it up yesterday - running only on cylinders 1, 2 & 3 but not 4. Changed the plug on cylinder 4 tonight but still no joy. Checked & re-checked all connections. Any ideas would be appreciated ? Cheers, Kawasakifreak

I have a clutch problem on my 2003 R6.I have had the bike for the last 3 years and changing gear has always been a bit notchy but nothing worth worrying about, but the other day when i went to take it for a blast,I could'nt get it to go into 4th.Eventually it did and 5th & 6th were no problem but on the way back down the box it would'nt go into 3rd.It stayed like this so i gave up and headed for home.I've since stripped the clutch down and checked everything with a vernier and all is o.k. so i have put it all back with lots of lubrication. I took it for a spin and everything was fine, in fact better than it had ever been-the gearchange was really smooth (the way it s…

Hi, I am new to the forum and posted this in the wrong place earlier on, I am looking for some advice I have recently purchased a Fazer 600 S2 on a '57' plate, which has been lowered. I have brought a replacement side stand, however I am struggling to find how to return it to the correct height and what other parts are required. I see that to lower it you need dogbones, however I can't see how they work and how I remove these (I can't even locate them on the bike) I have had a closer look and it has a Bitubo 160 shock absorber on it, is this an after market bolt on and will I just need to buy a standard unit? Any advice gratefully received Thanks Nick.

New to culb. I need some help. I am trying to bring a xj650H back to life. It's been sitting about 2 years. I got it to run. It runs for about a half hour than looses power and stalls. I took it out for a short ride. Got about 2 miles and she lost power and stalled. She was dripping gas so I think there is some crap in the carbs. When it dried up, about 10 min, it started right up again. Now, can I use something in the gas to clean out the carbs? I don't have mych money to spend on the bike and I'm not tec enough to take the carbs apart. Any ideas ? Thank s and cool to have a club !!!

Picked up a project, 2002 YZ 250. They rode it without coolant and blew a nickel sized hole through the center of the piston. The guy I picked it up from said the radiator had a slow leak. I have no idea where. So far I've cleaned out the metal shavings from the crank case and am preparing to bore it. But when I drained the oil, it was the color of chocolate milk. Light brown, completely. I know this isn't normal. My dad said when he broke the engine on his chevrolet tahoe, water got into the engine causing the oil to turn light brown. I think the radiator somehow leaked into the oil? So far my plan is to replace all the gaskets... any ideas appreciated.

Hi, Just brought a pair of GP microns for my lc but they will not fit with the original exhaust gaskets. Anyone know where I can buy the smaller compressable type gaskets and the springs and am I right in saying the flanges should be bolted on first and then the expansion exhausts slid over the flanges and attached by the 4 springs. Any help appreciated. cheers HK

I'm making progress with my XJ600. Brakes and exhaust are done, and I'm ready to get back on the road... but it was never going to be that easy was it? The engine just turns over until the battery dies, doesn't seem to catch at all. However, if I jump it from a car battery (i know some people would advise against this) the engine will turn over repeatedly until it just begins to catch, and eventually it will splutter into life. Once going, it warms up fine and seems to run well, then restarts immediately from the bike battery after being shut off. So, I'm wondering what this might be all about. Could it be that fuel is taking ages to get the engine? Could the ca…

The speedo on my 96 thundercat just stopped working on the way back from Kirkcudbright last night.Have to go back tonight but am stuck at work at the moment and will only have about 25 mins to fix it b4 i have to leave. Any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it? I was just crusing along at 60-70 then it dropped to 0! Its been in for a 600 sterling service(Forks re-oiled, valve clearances, new pipes, new double bubble screen,12 v charger) last week. Was thinking the guy just never connected the speedo cable properly and its worked its way free. cheers kev.
