I have a 1980 DT125 that has a bad throttle cable. A previous owner has replaced the cable that splits to the oil pump with a single longer cable that runs to the carburetor only. Any suggestions as to what bike this single cable would be from? It's almost impossible to order a new cable without the part number.

I have a 2006 XV19s (The big Stratoliner) and at the base of the headlight lense where the High beam shines through, the plastic lense has melted and sunk inward. I suppose this happened due to the heat of the high beam shining through the PLASTIC lense. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem???? I hate to go out and buy another PLASTIC lense for about $240 BUCKS just to have it do it again..... Any Ideas???? It sure would be nice if someone made a GLASS lense for these headlights. hey guys just wanted to know if a yamaha fs1e seat will fit on a yamaha rxs100 as the seat pan on my rxs is rusted to f**k and cant find a replacement pan anywhere i can only find the seat cover.... but my father has got an old fs1e in his garden and the seat pan is in good cond so i was hopeing it would fit on my rxs100 and i would feel alot better if it does, cos im not gonna stand up whilst riding to and from wembley stadium lol many thanks to all that reply.

So I was going to take my junky MAC 2-1 exhaust off and go back to 2-2. I have some xs400 mufflers but need new headpipes/headers... I was wondering the nut #12 and turns into the thing to the right of it (not sure term to call it, its called a Bolt Stud in pic below ... Hey guys, got the bike out to work on getting it started but it wont. Plugs are dry and new, cleaned banjo fitting from tank to carb that had dirt in it, nothing. dumped some gas in cylinders and it fired up. dumped gas in intake and started then backfired and started a minor fire. anyway do the carbs need cleaned or rebuilt, if so where is the best detailed info on doing this step by step. thanks for your help

Need help! havent had any luck getting this bike started with the electric start... button has NO play in it, like its stuck down.. the other day my friend was pushing the start button while kicking it over, and the starter engaged for a split second and then smoke came from the button..... any ideas? ive searched for a start button for this and cant find anything at all about it... need any more info just post

Hi i am having problems with my dt50mx it has no power when going up hills on the flat it pulls but a slight hill it dies. I have changed the reeds,spark plug,repacked the exhaust. Any one know what my problem is thanks

Finally got serious about tearing down my XT6 tonight...... I'm soooo glad I'm doing a frame-up resto.....'cause I knew I'd find other issues that'll need addressing ...... Looks to be a crappy weld from the factory that finally gave way to the notorious vibes of a Big Thump.... I was pumped to find a K&N already in the airbox.....that appears to only be in need of a good cleaning.... Decided to call it a day.....but not before ringing up my MetalFab buddy to inquire of his services for prepping the frame.... He told me his Mom is ready to go over the Floor Plan I drew up for her new house.....tomorrow.......which means …

Hey guys having an issue with my project. i am actually doing a 1991 fzr genesis but i have put a kawasaki zx6r rear end onto it and i am currently fitting an R6 LED tail light with built in idicators. the driving lamp and brake lights work fine. however the indicators are cause me some issues. if i have the entire lamp wired up whenever i put the indicators on it makes the indicator work correctly on the required side at the proper rate however it make the brake/driving lights flash also. i.e when the indicator lights all over lights cut out and then they come on between flashes.this happens when indicating in either direction. the strangest thing is if you unplug one in…

Hi people hope you can help, I have a 1992 tzr 125, I have stripped and cleaned the carb and it still wont idle, and rev through the rev range sounds as if its fuel starvation but theres plenty in the tank. Sometimes fuel comes out the overflow also. PLEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HELP!!!!!! Dean

hi, im in the process of running my rd in on a complete engine rebuild, ive had some odd smoking problems (another topic) but that seems to be better now since i reset and cleaned the carbs and set oil pump shims at the weekend, since ive done this it is smoking very little how ever ive now gained a top end rattle!! now ive run in many 125 2 strokes and i know the little end bearing starts to rattle very soon after a rebuild but they only rattled on de throttle. this rattle seems to start at about 4500rpm and its there on or off the throttle but it does sound like the little end.im out of touch with 2 strokes, is this normal for a 350 ypvs???apart from that its running fi…

Hey all, I noticed the exhaust a little loose off the barrel and found the threads to both bolts are stripped when I tried to toghten them up. Maybe I did em up too tight a while ago It's still hanging on but will need to fix it. Anyway, the question is how? Put a helicoil in? Braize or weld a stud in? Ream out a bigger thread?......... Hi to all, i've recently bought a dt 125 r whick i believe to be a 91 model but not sure. Still has the frame and engine number but my local bike shop couldn't find the year of the bike, i do know for sure though that t is a pre 97 model as it doesn't have the electric power valve motor fitted. My question is, can i fit a later cylinder head to my original barrel as my cylinder head has been damaged as some tight fisted twonk fitted a cheap ass piston which has began to break up and damaged the top of the cylinder head just a few wee dents but i'd rather replace it or would i maybe get away with it? Has anyone got a top end for a dt 125, also looking for a rear sil…

Bought a 84 TT600L it's got a dry sump the manual says it takes 2.4l of oil but when i drained the oil there was almost 3l of oil in it but the oil doesn't show on the dipstick even after the motor ran for a while and if i open the bleed screw on top of the oil filter while the engine is running there is no oil coming out fitted new oil pump but still no oil help please

On my '03 R6, sometimes when attempting to shift down it feels like there is no gear there, I press the shifter but it just moves freely and doesn't click into gear, it just stays in the gear it's in. I sometimes get the gear back if I let the clutch out and pull it back in, although I have on a couple of occasions been stuck in 3rd at the lights. I'm not sure where to start looking, any suggestions?

i bought my xvs as a unfinished project now its complete i took it for mot they told me they couldnt test it as cant find the frame number it comes with hpi report wich is clear an the log book its been powder coated by the previous owner so i assume its covered the frame number up can i have a pic of where the number should be on the frame please ?
