    I have a 1986 Radian that just started bogging down around 20mph. I see that all the carb intake boot holders are have fine cracks in them. Would this be the cause of it bogging down. Are these hard to replace without removing the carbs.

    Hi all, I have a set of 17" rims that I would like to build up on my sons DTR using his exsiting hubs. Can anyone tell me the off sets and the spoke lenghts for this? I have tried Talon, Central Wheel Company but they need the wheels and hubs, this will be costly. Front is 17 3.0 rear is 17 3.5. Any help would be very much appreciated Many thanks JD350

  3. I've recently purchased a Yamaha XJ600N (1998) model and need to top the engine oil up. After advice at halfords I have Castrol Power1 GPS 4t 10W-30. Is this the correct oil for summer riding I am just a little unsure as the oil is red, and the oil currently in the sight glass is golden in colour. IIs it ok to mix these, and do I need 20W40 as temperature is higher at the moment? Thanks

    hey guys, As part of a long stretch of problem solving I'm gonna remove, dismantle and clean the carb. I've got a haynes manual, but this is the first time I've ever done this so I was wondering if anyone had any particular advice? cheers!

    Hi Guys and gals! Just got a query I'm hoping some of you may be able to shed some light on. I have a 1998 Yamaha FZS600 fazer. The problem is this - the speedometer works fine, the odometer (total mileage) works most of the time but not 100%, and the trip computer dont work at all! It always reads 0.0 - it has worked once or twice but 99.9% of the time its none functioning! Has anybody else had the same issues? any idea how to remedy this? Any help at all greatly appreciated!     Ive got a 2003 vstar classic. When i start the bike in starts spilling alot of fuel out of the vent tube behind the air intake. The bike shop down the road told me i need my carbs rebuilt. I tried tapping on them with a screwdriver and added 1/3 a can of seafoam to the tank of gas but no luck so far. Anyone else have this problem or any other ideas?

    Hi again folks Yet another problem on my DT 125 R.Im wanting to change the rear brake caliper piston and seals as it seems to be ceased. No matter wat i try i can not get the old piston out. Does any1 have any ideas of how i can get the piston out. Dont have a garage or anything so doin it in my back yard. Many thanks in advance Lee

    Greetings, I recently picked up a fairly nice 73 AT3 125 and have been working to get it going with my one major obstacle at this point being no spark. This particular bike is the one with the electric start and generator (12V system), anyway I have managed to get all the lights and the electric starter working, but still zero spark. Does anyone know the procedure to determine if the generator is putting power out to the points? I initially thought the issue was a bad condensor, but I tried another with the same results. Any ideas anyone my have would be helpful. Thanks, Kevin Donovan

    hi, was just wondering if anybody could help me out, i recently sold my yamaha aerox to buy a tzr 50, the guy who i bought it off said it wasn't sparking and suggested the magneto, i got it home, and took the flywheel off to find out of luck that the wire had come off the magneto, 10 mintues later the wire had been soldiered on and as the starter motor isn't working, to my surprize bump started first time, however when i took it out on the road, after 10 minutes it cut out due to shredding up the woodruff key as i hadn't tighted the flywheel up, so i replaced it with one i made and it worked and ran, but a few hours later, the bike cut out again and sounded as if somethin…

    hello. have dt 125 that runs rich,dropped to #110 main jet have #7 ngk sparkplug jet needle at leanest clip setting #4j13 will a leaner jet needle fix it? use 32:1 oil/gas ratio air screw 2 turns out k&n filter clean is the crank seal letting transmission oil to cylinder ? ...i plugged off oil injector. any thought to this issue would be helpful thank you:: learaway

    hi all my fazer 600 is on a 55 plate use it for commuting qwick 20 min blat down the motorway.here's the problem just recently she's starting to cut out on me when i deaccelerate for rounerbouts or stop at lights ,wont tick over and if she cuts out will not want to start. any ideas what might be up . any input will be well recieved. all the best dazer66

  13. Hi, hope someone can help. Just bought a 2004 TZR50 for my son and it refuses to start on the electric starter, but will bump start instantly. Fitted new plug, cleaned carb. Fuel and spark are present when trying to electric start, but it just refuses to fire. I'm no expert on 2 strokes, but thought it maybe a lack of speed from the starter, so to eliminate poor battery tried operating starter using jump leads from car battery straight to the starter but still no joy. If I do a compression test what pressure should I see? Any ideas on a cure?

    Hi folks does any1 know the best place to get a mail order woodruff key for my 1989 dt 125 r. I can get them from the main dealers but its gonna take a week to get it. I have found 1 place but i dont know the dimensions of the woodruff that i need. Any 1 got any ideas???? Thanks in advance Lee

    Hi, I'm new to this forum, just taken delivery of a new XJ6 Diversion & wonder if anyone has experience fitting a Glpro X-type digital gear indicator to this bike? Thanks for your help. Update: Emailed supplier of Glpro X-type & found them very helpful with specific instructions for the 2009 XJ6 so thrown caution to the wind & ordered one today (22.06.2010) will post detailed instructions when it's fitted.     Hi all, i'm a bit stuck with a fault on my xt350. Its recently been put back on the road having been laid up for a few years. It ran fine for a couple of weeks and suddenly developed a bad missfire and hesitation which occassionaly clears and the bike goes like a rocket for a few miles before missbehaving again. I've made sure the carb is spotless, its had a new plug, i've tried a different coil, all the wiring has been thoroughly checked for shorts/ breaks/ bad earths. I think i've narrowed it down to an electrical component breaking down but im not sure what to do next. Im guessing the CDI or stator/ pickup may be faulty but i'd like to hear a few other opinions befor…

    My husband owns a 1988 Yamaha Radian, we are having a problem with it starting from the button. It will start occasionally that way, but then most of the time he has to push start it to get it going. Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Just trying to narrow it down to hopefully cut down the cost of repairs. Since eventually this bike will be mine I would really like to fix this...lol

    Sorry to keep asking silly questions folks but ive just filled my dt up with water after a complete restrip and rebuild to sort crank bearings out. When taking the r/h side casing off again for a diff problem i noticed it had water in it. Is there sum sort of rubber seal i need to put between the crank casing and main casing to to seal the water off from the oil ?????? I have used a gasket to join the casings. I bought a full gasket kit whilst rebuiling the engine and it comes with 3 rubber O shaped seals. A small black seal and 2 larger redish seals do i need to take my water pump off and use the black seal in the casing??? And can any1 tell me what the other redis…

    How many Amps can I pull for a set of extra lights for my YBR 125 custom. I'm sure anyone with experience of night driving a YBR will appreciate how utterly rubbish the lights are- even with a xenon bulb. So I'm looking at sticking some lights on the sides of the forks- but I need to know how many amps/watts I can draw. Also- I'm a good PCB electrician, but I've never used relays before. Where would I connect the relay for the extra lights? Cheers guys!!! Tommy

    hey guys, Was just wondering if anyone knew how to check if a CDI unit for a DT125 LC MK3 was working. My Haynes manual just says that Yamaha doesn't publish the spec. cheers!
