Hi all, managed to snap one of my XJ6S Diversion rear view mirrors off and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a decent pair of after market mirrors please? Am going to tray and repair mine, but thinking some new ones may not go amiss now as the originals are not that good looking. Cheers, AndrewA

I have a technical question that you may be able to help me with . My Yamaha doesn't have a gear selector indicator so i have been looking at aftermarket products . There are various on the market that say plug and play via the diagnostic lead for my model . I may be wrong but i don't think my bike has a diagnostic plug the fault codes are indicated as flash codes . i cant find anything in my Haynes manual yet when i email the supplier they say its under the seat ? am i missing something thanks for your help kurt

Hi all, I am the new and proud owner of a blue and yellow TZR 250 2MA on a 1988 plate. At the moment I have no spark going to the HT leads and was curious if anybody had a good idea what the issue is? I have the tank off and am easily able to get to the box which I'm assuming is the coil pack in which the leads connect to etc. I'm no qualified mechanic as you have probably guessed but want to make this my little project. Thank you!

I recently bought an sr250 to fix up, took the engine apart and found the intake valve was cracked. I bought a replacement for both valves as it was almost the same price. I was able to remove the intake valve spring without much trouble, but the exhaust valve spring isn't budging and I ended up bending my valve spring compressor (admittedly a cheap one) trying to get it off. I was wondering what might be causing this and whether this would be related to, or the cause of, the crack in the other valve. The engine seemed to be running fine when I bought it 2 months ago. Thanks!

Hi there, I've just dragged my '94 Yamaha RXS100 out of the shed where it's been lying for about 20 years unused. I was going to replace the footrests because I snapped the right one off when I decked the bike, so I started to remove the exhaust to make it easier to get at but one of the bolts holding the exhaust sheared when I tried to remove it! So I've got a sheared bolt sticking out of the engine block by about 7mm. I've tried just using pliers to rotate it but it is stuck solid, no doubt firmly rusted in. Now the same thing happened many, many years ago and my uncle got the sheared bolt out for me by heating it but I didn't see him…

Hi all, I'm a total newbie - passed the CBT a week ago, bought a 2011 YBR 125 Custom, been out on it twice and got a puncture! in DIY style I've removed the back wheel and will be taking it somewhere for a new tyre shortly. Are there any recommendations for the best tyres for these bikes? I don't know if there's much of a range available. At the moment it has tubeless 'CSC's which might be the original ones. Also - chain wear was an advisory on the last MOT (in April), so I'm planning to replace the chain and sprockets at the same time (trusting that the Haynes Manual will get me through). Any recommendations for brands/suppliers of chains & sprocke…

Hi All, this my 1st post and its a confusing one for me, i've recentlyy purchased a yb100 deluxe and have a slight problem, the top speed is just over 45mph, it pulls away well in 1st and 2nd but in third it seems to pull back at high revs like its choking up then in 4th it runs ok but only reaches approx 45mph, i've put a new plug in and had a mechanic friend check the head was ok but that was all he would do as he's a car mechanic and didn't want to get involved in the bike, another friend of mine said to put 2 head gaskets on it to lift the head and get more compression but i'm no mechanic and i've never heard of this, can anyone help please, cheers alec

Hi there I am currently restoring an old DT 50 for my cousin and am trying to take the forks apart to replace the seals and to give the fork bottoms a coat of paint. I have taken the nut out of the top along with the washer and the rubber seal and at the point where the leg enters the bottom i have removed the circlip and also the flat washer. ~I expected there to be a bolt at the bottom of the fork bottom to undo as there was on my old ns125 that i had the forks apart on several times but there is not and so i am now stumped as to how to seperate the fork. Any help would be apreciated as trying to get it sorted asap for his 16th birthday and the bike is litraly a box of …

Hey folks, got an issue with my speedometer, i think somethings loose but cant identify it. Any help/advice is appreciated because id like to learn to care for my bike myself. The speedo started acting strangely not long after setting off the other night, showing readings that kept jumping around before settling on zero. The 'check engine' light came on as well. The odometer still works fine though. Speedo still works to a degree, its getting readings at random though, sometimes i know my speed but typically the speedo goes back to zero after a short time. Any ideas on where & what im looking for?

Hi, I have an oldrunner Yamaha XJ600 (build year 1989) 51J. I wonder if there is anyone who can pinpoint my problem. While riding all the lights (including the dash) become bright for a few seconds and then return to normal and sometimes they dim below normal level too. It fluctuates all the time but especially when at higher rmp. Could it be the voltage regulator? Just don't want to go the saga of buying expensive parts for nothing. Thanks,
