Anyways with that being said I AM geting this bike next weekend was wondering if the wiring would be a pain in the ass to do? My mother says "oh it tak…

Yet more wingin from me........................ This morning on my way home from work my bike started to die down and lose power, the best I can describe it as is it sort of 'coughed and spluttered', this happened even though I had warmed the engine up. It then started to cut out when I had stopped at lights etc and not put any revs on. It has never done this before. It won't idle even if the engine is warm. I have had to ride around with the choke on to stop it stalling. I really don't know what the problem is but I'm guessing something wrong with the throttle.

Hey guys, having a cold crank problem. 1981 DT175 , just had bored to 3rd over and installed a Yamaha Art piston and rings. New intake and gasket ,new NGK plug cap and B9ES at .028. The carb is from a 1978 DT125 (original one was butchered) , jetted mains to 175 spec (150) , pilot (22.5) and new slide and needle for this 1978 carb . The carb is spotless ( did clean emulsion tube) , first had needle clip in middle and now dropped to 4th which helped a little . Even when warmed up the air screw has no effect when turning in (even closed) . After kicking and playing with the choke about 10 kicks it cranks , after warms up it runs pretty good but could idle better. I set the …

hi,i replaced the flywheel side casing on my bike,i did not take the gearbox apart, however on removal of the casing this dislogged the gearselector barrel/forks etc ,i reassembled these and appear to work before casing put back together, the spring and ball bearing are in place etc,i reassembled with gearbox in neutral, when fitted to bike could get 1st gear only, removed engine again ,reassembled with gearbox in 3rd,now cannot get first and the other gears are not right as it jumps out of gear very easy(sounds like its not quite in gear),note gearbox was fine before removing caseing,i swopped the caseing because original was cracked, has anyone had a similar experience an…

Hello... Would be grateful if someone can help me with an identification issue... I've collected a number of DT125's over the last couple of years... I started off with a DT125MX which is stripped, and in the process of being rebuilt. I bought a DT125LC Mk II about 2 years ago, which I have sourced parts for, and is next in the queue to be rebuilt. I've been hoarding spares, and over a period of time have managed to pick up a spare engine prefixed 12A & have now managed to get a cheap rolling chassis. Initially I'd planned to use them for spares, but in a drunken stupour one night, I came up with the idea of making a enduro style DT with the bits I have. I…

With bike running, head light works great on high and low beam but the tail light was burnt out. If i hook up my test light on one of the taillight leads it comes on and on the other lead the brake light works through my test light, thinking to myself this is a good thing. When I put a new 6V bulb in the head light goes out and nothing works, as soon as I pull out the new taillight my head light comes back on...any ideas?

Hi Guys, I have read all over the net concerning this but am still facing some difficulties concerning problems with the Speedo. At first the speedo was not showing anything on the display and not even lighting up. A trip to the local bike shop told me that I needed a new one as the old one had broken. I decided to take it apart and just check the components to see whether any had burnt out but they had not. When I plugged it back in, it came up displaying the standard enduro and motard mode choice that everyone talks about. From reading other posts I attempted to set this to the correct mode a couple of times, but each time I tried this, the screen back light ca…

Hi guys, If anyone can help me you guys can. Had a rather large oil leak from the frontmost (looking at the bike head on) cylinder cover. Managed to take it off to find the cover had the top screw in and had been glued the rest of the way round ( absolutely no screwhole/thread left at the bottom). Now have found a couple of things on ebay but wish to check the fountain of all knowledge here. Is there any difference in the engine between a 1998 XVS650 classic and and 1998 XVS650 Dragstar. if not if I am looking at the engine from the side. is the rear cylinder head at the back of the engine ( I know this may sound rather daft but I cannot find a front cylinder hea…
