As the title really. I have a chromed front mudguard which was painted yellow. I am in the process of stripping it and it has a certain patina in places (light rustng). Although it is solid and worth re chroming in the future, I am in two minds as to leave it for the short term or give it a couple of coats of chrome spray. Any views?

So I have just stripped my carb off my SR125 down, and found the remains of the main jet in the main jet nozzle :S Wondered if anyone could tell me if this is 100% a needed part, or whether it can function without for the time being. Obviously it will be affecting the fuel mix, but can I just adjust the screw to compensate? Also, although everything in the carb seemed clean, I cleaned it anyway, but I am not sure whether or not there should be any rubber washer or anything in the float needle seat - the only carbs I have opened up before all had an o ring thingy to ensure a tight shut off, but this one hasn't, and the reason I stripped it down in the first place is becau…

So... I've been wanting a bike for so ridiculously long i cant even remember. When I had the money to get one, I had a wife to tell me no But... I finally won the argument, and am now the owner of a '99 SR125. It needs a bit of TLC as its has been standing idle for a LONG time. So far I have cleaned it up, drained the oil, changed the brake fluid, checked brake pistons and seals, fitted a new fuel line, rewired front lighting (It originally had side spots on it but one was broken so previous owner removed them but never rewired) and thats about it. There are a few cosmetic bits and bobs needed, and there are a few problems I am hoping to get some help with here . …

I have a couple of old twinshock trials bikes and today I am the dubious proud owner of an AG175 - although have not yet taken possession of the bike. I understand that it is a 76 or 77 model and from what I can see it is very similar to the CT2 or CT3 as opposed to the DT175. I am trying to find technical information on the bike. There are plenty of purveyors of manuals but in the past I have often found these to be of poor quality and bad value. Can anyone point me to a resource that will

Hey all, Just purchased my first bike, I'm loving it. Seem to have run into a few problems though. The gearshift seems to be a little tricky. If I'm in 3rd, and I downshift to second, the shifter stays down, so that when I try and downshift to first, it doesn't have anywhere to go and I don't shift - I'm having to kick it back up to center (and sometimes accidentally upshifting in the process) before I can downshift. It's really hard to find neutral and first for this same reason, which means I'm stalling at stoplights. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I was worried it might be due to rider technique (as I'm a very, very new rider), but a family friend who…

Hello peeps, seems i have an oil leak on the xj 600. I noticed thi the other day but thought nothing of it to be honest but it seems every time im out and then park the bike on its side stand im getting a drip. Oil is dripping out from the sprocket cover for some reason. Now i think some people will say an over oiled chain but this is not the case here. Im just wondering if there is a common seal that can go behind the cover and if so how much trouble to fix. I have removed the cover to check this but i cant seem to see it coming out for some reason.

So for those that have read my other posts, I've been having trouble with bogging and not been able to get over 15mph on my XVS 125. I've just removed the silencer to get to the carb and noticed this: That is the underside of the silencer that connects to the top of the carb. In the fragile diaphragm around the junction are two clearly visible splits. Can this be sealed again and is it related to the bogging? Cheers.

My DT was butchered by the previous owner who re sprayed the frame then had no idea how to re-wire it I have most back in place bar a group of wire at the rear....im missing the side stand switch and the relay at the expansion bottle. Also I can see a block connector with black & orange wire coming out at the battery...(not to be confused by the other near the cdi which is on the oil tank) I've managed to get a neutral and oil light on the clocks but I cant by pass the side stand or neutral relay because I cant get a decent diagram. Engine code starts with 4BL if that any use to anyone. Ill post plenty of pics of ignition down to rear on monday

I've been having trouble with bogging on my xvs 125 as can be seen in my other thread. I decided today to clean out the carb and noticed a pool of oil in air filter again. I recently cleaned out the air filter and also changed the oil and oil filter so it's not over filled. Is this the piston rings or the crankcase vent tube? I can't see where it has come from to be honest and it's not smoking when started which I would have thought would be an indicator of the rings? She did have too much oil in her previously which is why I drained/changed it all recently. She felt like she wanted to go yesterday when I tried her, but bogged down again and cut out when I stopped. Any…

Hi, I want to replace the crank case cover on my XJ6N. I got it scratched up having to lay the bike down. Unfortunately, it was on stoney ground and attemping to pick it up, the bike slid. (Yeah, I feel crap about it). It seems to me that I just need to; drain the oil, unbolt cover and remove the old gasket. Then, fit new gasket, bolt on new cover, refill with oil and check for leaks. Can it be as simple as that? Any advice would be appreciated.
