My housemate is also a biker, and was riding home when a range rover pulled out of a junction into her path. What happened: We'd been at a gym class [yoga...] and she left an hour before me as I was continuing on. On my route home, I see a police car with a bike next to it. And my first thought was "That looks like [my housemate]'s bike..." I get home, and sure enough, she wasn't home yet. I gunned it back to the police car [well, keeping to the speed limit...], jumped off the bike once I spotted it was her bike, with the first words out my mouth being "Is she OK?!" to the police officer still on the scene. Her bike was up on a recovery truck, with the fron…

Was riding the XT500 yesterday..went passed a guy on a scooter. When I pulled into my driveway I noticed he had pulled in behind me. He started raving about my XT and how he used to own an XL500. Then I opened the garage and he saw the other bikes and his jaw dropped. Spent about an hour in my garage taking pics and chatting. Now he wants to bring a friend over to come see them. He even reckoned I should charge people to come look. Naturally he asked if any for sale..I said not at the moment..garage not full enough. Great feeling..never had that with any new bikes. Chuffed with this collection..they all start easy..electrics all working, and are running nicely. Once t…

Ok So I've owned my yam a little over a month now having bought it from brand new. I went out and plugged it into the optimate and noticed half the paint has come off of the bottom of the fork leg where where the wheel spindle bolts through. I'm pretty pissed about that, is that a warranty issue or wear and tear at 577miles. I'd say it's poor quality of finish.

While this may or may not have been asked before, there's probably been newer members joining since then [like me!]... So, basically, what got down that road to a love or passion for bikes and biking? [and does anyone else get confused when your get odd people that that refer to bikes as those things without engines? (: ] My [long] story: For me, it's actually been a slow thing. Back in my mid 20s, I was living in the south coast of England [bournemouth], and I had some money. But for some foolish reason, I decided to put that money into the other choice of things to spend it on: drums. Wee mistake there. Never kept at it, as I ended up always living in flats,…

Been looking for a classic four stroke long distance runner for awhile now. Keen on the 750four as it is famed for pretty much being the very first superbike. Want something with a kickstart for those days when the battery decided to take the day off. Also like this as it has electronic ignition and better brakes..and I don`t really want something with ignition points that wear out. This one come up for sale here for around 1350pounds. Opinions on this bike?

...of hearing the sound of your bike falling over. Had my bike up on the stand, while I was at my front door. And I hear that distinctive sound. First time this bike's fallen over, and it was because I hadn't put the side stand down right. *sigh* No major damage: indicator cover fell off [super glue fixed], scrapped the bodywork by the seat, and the most annoying was the clutch lever pushed out of alignment. At least that didn't snap, like I had happen to me on my CBT (:

I am now a fully licensed biker. 4 minors [2 of which were for hesitation - stuck behind a bus, and I didn't want to risk nipping out. Yeah, I was too close... 1 for speed [34-35 in a 30] and 1 for rear observations.] Thought I'd failed. Got a grilling from the examiner after regarding the minors, and then he did a "So, do you want me to send off your license, or are you happy getting your own?" Had to resist going "You utter bastard..." Unfortunately, no celebration ride for me just now: killer headache kicked in after getting back to the bike school, which wasn't helped by driving home in rush hour traffic. Instead, it's sleep time.

So I recently acquired a brand new ybr125 0miles. After a bit of a shakey start (I felt so uncomfortable it was unreal just so nervous on the road) I hit the 40 mile mark on the bike and suddenly out of nowhere I fell in love. Having owned the little baby for a week now and covered just over 80miles I look forward to comuting to work everyday as its just so relaxing. There is no real reason for this post to be honest but perhaps someone like me who was nervous as hell after passing there cbt will see this and know it does become so much fun. Picture of bike is below. Www.Imgur.com/p56p1nf

Hey I'd love to know if anyone's been to the Iron Horse in Market Deeping. I went the other day it's fantastic, it's owned by bikers for bikers, friendly bunch live music... Food is astonishing... I mean really!! If anyone's up for a run down I'll have a look at what's on. They regularly have in excess of 300 bikes there from tractor owners clubs to crotch rocket pilots to average Joe.

If you haven't already seen this then it's time you did, very sad and all but if your doing nearly a ton in a 40MPH zone and someone turns in front of you then your gone.
