Hi peeps. Been looking in to this a fair bit lately now that I have the FJ to do the miles on, and was wondering how I can actually go about getting insurance cover for places outside of the EU and further afield. Afaik my policy with swinton covers UK and NI with a months free European cover, but that's about it, is it a specialist broker thing?

I am looking to get a Yamaha sportbike, something early 90's, as I have a bit of a growing itch for speed which my dream bike just can't scratch. Yeah, as the name suggests, I ride a Guzzi - a Griso 1100 to be precise. Insert tractor jokes here:- With that done, back to Yams. I have noticed that I can pick up a 2000-2002 R1 with 25k+ miles on, for about the same price as a 2002-2004 R6 with a bit less, for about the same price. I'd just like some advice on which would be best for what I want to do with it. I used to have a 1989 FZR1000R and loved the speed but it always felt a bit too much for me. The suspension was probably shot, in all fairness,…

I'm currently at the great Dorset steam fair for a week, and whilst wandering through the mahoosive market I spotted this, only £160!, needs a bit of TLC though. I'm sure one of our members used to have one of these Behold, a mobylette!

So I bought my brand new 2014 YZF-R125 now the first couple hundred miles have been great and smooth, but recently the gearbox has refused to go into third... It's not jumping it just won't go in.... I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if there's a problem. It gears up and down fine in every gear apart from 2nd into 3rd. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Well the time has come to sell the XJ, had it for nearly 4 years now and will be sad to see it go but has anyone any idea about what it might be worth? Just asking cos as some of you know I rebuilt it about 4 years ago and it has all been done, looked on EBAY and even looked at Google but they are becoming pretty rare now and this one is fully finished and even has tax and test on it. Plus I have a s++t load of spares that can go with it, anyone have a useful idea about the best price? Going on EBAY this weekend and was thinking of a starter of about £800 and see if I can do a deal. I have spend well over a grand on this old bike in the last few years but realise that …

Haven't post much lately but been viewing the forum time to time but been major busy with work. I've got the MOT of my bike coming up and getting the bike ready but once it's passed I'm thinking of getting my full bike licence I've been riding on my cbt provisional for about 8 months now, and I'd like to get rid of the L plates, cheaper insurance etc and once I'm 19 I will be able to shift onto a bigger bike.... I understand I need a theory test, part one and part two. Will my age restrict me of doing mod 1 and mod 2? Or can I do them now? And do you suggest getting lessons or an intensive course? Cheers Laura

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem? The mirrors on my thundercat are way too narrow. No matter what angle I set them at all I see is either my jacket or the hedgerows. So iv purchased some replacements. R6 items to be precise. The stems look a lot longer but the base has studs rather than screw holes. Has anyone done this conversion before that can offer any advice?

Just to let you know the FJ has passed it's MOT this morning , Yippee, so off and out today before the rain gets here to have a bit of a blast round the local roads. Going to go to Ledbury for a trip out to pick up the wife's birthday pressie and a good excuse to blow the dust off of the bike. Going to use the camera to take a video of the trip so I can get an idea of how it looks from the cockpit, this thing is AWESOME it goes like a bloody missile. Tasky is right this thing is a motorway muncher.

Ok boys and girl's here is an odd one for you to think about, I had to change the original speedo on the bike for a recon one, fitted straight in no probs and all seemed well till the other day when I noticed on my way to the MOT that the speedo was stuck or not working, long story short I have just discovered that dumb arse here has only fitted the thing with the needle on the wrong side of the stop post !! I mean FFS. Anyway I have run the bike for about 60 odd miles with it like this and want to know if I have damaged it before I put it all back together, or better yet how do you test it on the bike BEFORE you put all the fiddly screws and whatnot back on? Seems an ea…

Struth. Was on the phone to fowlers as i wanted to replace an o ring that is in the 2stroke oil supply circuit thats perished. Well its 3mm dia and maybe 15mm across. You cant buy it on its own. It comes as part of THE COMPLETE TANK ASSEMBLY. Just guessing what that would cost (it was poa and a back order item, quell suprise) gave me sweats. Pack of various from halfrauds i guess.
